UN REACTOR NUCLEAR QUE TIENE UN RECIPIENTE DEL REACTOR COLOCADO EN UNA CUBIERTA DE CONFINAMIENTO SE DESCOMPRIME POR ETAPAS UTILIZANDO UNAS VALVULAS DESCOMPRESORAS ACOPLADAS EN COMUNICACION FLUIDA CON EL CIRCUITO REFRIGERANTE. POR LO MENOS UN ROCIADOR, SUMERGIDO EN EL DEPOSITO DE ALMACENAMIENTO DE AGUA DE REABASTECIMIENTO DE COMBUSTIBLE CONFINADO QUE SE PUEDE DRENAR EN EL COLECTOR DE CONFINAMIENTO, SE COMUNICA ENTRE UNA O MAS DE LAS VALVULAS Y UNA PARTE INTERIOR DE LA CUBIERTA DE CONFINAMIENTO. LAS VALVULAS DESCOMPRESORAS SE ABREN POR ETAPAS, PREFERENTEMENTE A UNOS NIVELES REFRIGERANTES PROGRESIVAMENTE INFERIORES Y PARA ABRIR PROGRESIVAMENTE UNOS CIRCUITOS DE FLUJO MAYORES PARA QUE SE LLEVE A CABO LA DESCOMPRESION A TRAVES DE UN NUMERO DE LAS VALVULAS EN PARALELO. LAS VALVULAS SE PUEDEN ENCONTRAR ASOCIADAS A UN DEPOSITO SOBRECOMPRESOR COLOCADO DENTRO DE LA CUBIERTA DE CONFINAMIENTO, ACOPLADO A UN ORIFICIO DE SALIDA DEL REFRIGERANTE DEL REACTOR. HAY POR LO MENOS UNA VALVULA DESCOMPRESORA, QUESE PUEDE ABRIR POR ETAPAS A UNA PRESION INFERIOR, ACOPLADA DIRECTAMENTE ENTRE EL CIRCUITO REFRIGERANTE Y LA CUBIERTA DE CONFINAMIENTO. EL REACTOR SE ENCUENTRA COLOCADO EN EL COLECTOR ABIERTO QUE HAY COLOCADO DENTRO DE LA CUBIERTA DE CONFINAMIENTO Y HAY UNA VALVULA ADICIONAL QUE ACOPLA EL COLECTOR ABIERTO A UN CONDUCTO ACOPLANDO ASI EL DEPOSITO DE ALMACENAMIENTO DE AGUA DE REABASTECIMIENTO DE COMBUSTIBLE AL CIRCUITO REFRIGERANTE PARA AÑADIR AGUA AL CIRCUITO REFRIGERANTE, DE TAL MODO QUE EL AGUA QUE SE ENCUENTRA DENTRO DE LA CUBIERTA DE CONFINAMIENTO SE PUEDE AÑADIR AL REACTOR DESDE EL COLECTOR ABIERTO.
