SEGUN ESTE PROCESO SE EFECTUA LA SOLIDIFICACION DEL METAL EN UNA LINGOTERA DE COLADA CONTINUA CONSTITUIDA DE DOS CILINDROS ENFRIADOS (2), QUE GIRAN EN SENTIDOS OPUESTOS Y DISPUESTOS UNO ENFRENTE DEL OTRO DE MANERA A DEFINIR ENTRE SI UN ESPACIO DE COLADA, SE EXTRAE EN CONTINUO DE LA LINGOTERA UNA TIRA DE ACERO SOLIDIFICADO (3), Y BAJO LA LINGOTERA, SE SOMETE DICHA TIRA A UN MEDIO (6) DE TEMPLE PARA ENFRIARLA SUFICIENTEMENTE RAPIDO PARA IMPEDIR LA FORMACION DE AUSTENITA. ESTE MEDIO PUEDE ESTAR CONSTITUIDO POR UN BAÑO DE TEMPLE, COLOCADO EN UN RECIPIENTE (4) DISPUESTO BAJO LOS CILINDROS (2), Y CUYO FONDO ESTA AGUJEREADO POR UNA ABERTURA (5) DE PASO DE LA TIRA (3) SOLIDIFICADA.
