EL INVENTO SE REFIERE A UN APARATO PARA EXAMINAR UN CUERPO CILINDRICO ALARGADO CON UN ANIMA AXIAL, COMO UN EJE DE ROTOR, QUE INCLUYE UN TRANSDUCTOR DE ENERGIA SOPORTADO POR UNA VARILLA DE IMPULSION QUE SE AVANZA HACIA EL INTERIOR DEL ANIMA, MIENTRAS SE OBTIENEN LECTURAS INDICATIVAS DE LA CONDICION FISICA DEL CUERPO; UNA UNIDAD DE ACCIONAMIENTO QUE SOPORTA LA VARILLA Y UN DISPOSITIVO PARA SOPORTAR LA UNIDAD DE ACCIONAMIENTO PARA CENTRAR LA VARILLA DE IMPULSION EN EL ANIMA, EL DISPOSITIVO ESTA SOPORTADO POR EL CUERPO E INCLUYE UN MECANISMO PARA JUSTAR EL DISPOSITIVO Y ESTABLECER LA ALINEACION AXIAL DESEADA DE LA VARILLA DE IMPULSION. EL DISPOSITIVO TIENE UN MECANISMO PARA SOPORTAR UN BLOQUE DE CALIBRACION QUE SE USA PARA CALIBRAR EL APARATO, DICHO MECANISMO ES AJUSTABLE EN RELACION CON EL DISPOSITIVO PARA COLOCAR EL BLOQUE DE CALIBRACION EN LA POSICION DESEADA EN RELACION CON EL TRANSDUCTOR CUANDO LA UNIDAD DE ACCIONAMIENTO SE MONTA EN EL DISPOSITIVO. DICHA UNIDAD SE PUEDE GIRAR Y ADELANTAR AXIALMENTE CON MOTORES DE IMANES PERMANENTES CC Y COMO MINIMO, EL MOTOR QUE EFECTUA LA ROTACION DE LA VARILLA SE CONTROLA MEDIANTE SEÑALES DE ERROR E VELOCIDAD Y POSICION DERIVADAS CON LA AYUDA DE UN CODIFICADOR DE IMPULSOS CONECTADO PARA GIRAR CON EL MOTOR. UNA POSICION INICIAL DE REFERENCIA ANGULAR DEL CUERPO PUEDE DETERMINARSE CON LA AYUDA DE OTRO DISPOSITIVO QUE PROVEE UNA SUPERFICIE DE REFERENCIA PLANA CON UNA ORIENTACION DEFINIDA EN RELACION CON EL PUNTO DE REFERENCIA DEL CUERPO.
