Abstract
Detector of amorphous materials in documents. The detector of amorphous materials in documents basically consists of a reading head and an electronic analysis and display device. The reading head consists of three basic elements: an exciter coil, a pick-up aerial and a Hall effect sensor element. The purpose of the electronic analysis and display device is to detect the presence of amorphous material by analysing the signal from the detector, checking its validity and suitably displaying the presence of the amorphous material. The detector is suitable for being used as an authenticator of bank notes that contain one or more segments of amorphous material of varying length within the paper. Miniaturization or compaction of the electronic device is possible, so that it is capable of being used as a portable, easy-to-use, manual detector, for mounting on a base the size of a bulk labeller, powered by standard batteries.
