Abstract

Novel piperidine-triazine compounds comprising recurring units of the formulae (Ia) and (Ib> < IMAGE > having a number-average molecular weight from 1,000 to 20,000 and a (Ia):(Ib) ratio from 4:1 to 1:4, in which R1 is e.g. an alkylamino group, R2 is e.g. 1,2,2,6,6-pentamethyl-4-piperidyl and R3 and R4 are e.g. C2-C12alkylene. These compounds are useful as light-stabilisers, heat-stabilisers and oxidation-stabilisers for organic materials. In particular, the compounds of the present invention exert a surprising light stabilising action in polypropylene fibres.
