Abstract

A block (20, 30) of refractory material for a device for manufacturing glass ribbon. The block is of substantially parallelepipedal shape and capable of supporting a bath of molten metal on which the glass spreads into a sheet, at least in the upper part. The block has at least one of its two cross-sections, transverse or lengthwise, of uniform trapezoidal shape, the said section having its longer base as the lower base of the trapezium.
