Abstract

1. Device for retaining snow on a ribbed sheet metal roof, consisting of an assembly (1) in a single piece, comprising two rims (2, 3) which are spaced and parallel and which make it possible to fit it on the apexes of two contiguous ribs (4, 5) of the roof and, between these two rims (2, 3), two portions which are substantially perpendicular to the roof plane, one (11) being disposed between the ribs and making it possible to retain thin layers of snow while allowing the passage of water, the other (14) being disposed above the roof plane and making it possible to retain thicker layers of snow, characterized in that the two abovementioned portions (11, 14) are disposed in the extension of one another and form a barrier (10) which is extended, in a continuous manner down the slope of the roof, by a continuous plane (or ramp) (15) forming an angle of less than 45 degrees and preferably in the region of 30 degrees relative to the roof plane, the end (12) of the portion (11) and that of the inclined plane (15) being spaced from the bottom (13) of the ribs.
