Abstract

The method comprises reacting a colophony resin, strengthened with malleic acid and previously saponified and stabilized, in a reactor provided with a stirring mechanism, with aluminium polyhydroxy chloride, in order to cationize the emulsion. Due to its cationic character, said emulsion reacts directly with the cellulose fiber when contacting the latter, in an aquous medium, without requiring any reagent and allows to obtain an instantaneous mass or press sizing of paper.
