Abstract

The protective cover (3) comprises a protective dish (8) surrounding the journal (5) and securing means by which the dish is secured to the drive housing. The securing means comprises a groove (9) of the drive housing, the groove being concentric with the journal, at least one radial projection (10) on the drive housing extending through said groove, an adaptor ring (11) having an inwardly-facing bead (12) Fig 4 with at least one groove (13) therein, and fixing means (14) for fixing the protective dish (8) to the adaptor ring (11). The adaptor ring (11) is arranged to fit over an extension (4) of the drive housing with the bead (12) received in the groove (9) therein and the groove (13) fitting over the projection (10).
