Abstract

The method is based on the technique of immuno-blotting, retaining the proteins of the sample on cellulose nitrate or similar carrier and detecting the proteins of other species using a specific anti-casein anti-serum and a second anti-immunoglobulin anti-serum from rabbit labelled with peroxidase and other enzymes, which are revealed on adding a suitable substrate. The anti-serum not pptg. cattle and goat protein and which does not give the crossed reaction with sheep protein, as used in the above method is obtd. by injecting of cattle or goat protein into rabbits and adsorption of the immune serum obtd. with insolubilised sheep casein.
