Definitions
- the invention relates to a refill for a dispenser, in particular a sanitary dispenser for dispensing toilet paper or towel paper.
- Dispensers for material webs wound into rolls are known in a variety of designs.
- the material webs are primarily papers, in particular sanitary or hygiene papers, household papers, etc. but also plastic or metal foils.
- the dispensers often have opposite walls in which guideways from a filling point at least up to a dispensing position, and if necessary further into a collecting chamber for empty storage units that hold the rolls.
- a new refill is therefore inserted into the two guideways with the two bearing pins of a storage unit and then generally slides down into the dispensing position under the influence of gravity. If the bearing pins are formed at the ends of a support rod, the empty support rod falls further down into the collecting chamber after the roll has been used up and can be removed there.
- both the two guide tracks and the two bearing pins are designed differently to prevent incorrect insertion.
- coding The correspondence of the opposite element pair of guide track and bearing journal is called coding, and known codings include, for example, the diameter of the bearing journal and the column width of the guideway, a bearing journal with a bearing groove and webs on the guide track that engage in this, parallel non-rotational surfaces on the bearing journal and on the guide track , etc.
- codings include, for example, the diameter of the bearing journal and the column width of the guideway, a bearing journal with a bearing groove and webs on the guide track that engage in this, parallel non-rotational surfaces on the bearing journal and on the guide track , etc.
- the support rod (bearing unit) described there for a material web wound into a roll has a bearing pin which is rotatably mounted on the remaining support rod.
- a device in the dispenser itself in the simplest case a rib that engages in a groove in the bearing journal) which holds the bearing journal in a rotationally fixed manner. Due to the relative rotatability of the bearing pin to the other support rod on which the material web is wound, the roll with the material web can rotate in the dispensing position and thus the material web can be unwound, although - as already mentioned - the bearing pin is held in a rotationally fixed manner. If a "wrong" support rod is used, in which the relative rotation between the bearing surface and the rest of the support rod is not given, the roller cannot rotate in the dispensing position and the dispenser is blocked. This function is collectively referred to as "rotary coding”.
- the object of the invention is to provide a further coding option for a dispenser and a refill and/or to provide a refill that can move well guided in at least one guideway of a dispenser.
- the essence of the invention is that, on the one hand, a special design with an asymmetrical circumferential groove is specified for the refill or its bearing pin and/or, on the other hand, a special one for a dispenser Guideway is proposed with a guide web that is aligned parallel to the track plane.
- the asymmetrical circumferential groove according to the invention and/or the matching guide web provided on the dispenser side and aligned parallel to the web plane make it possible, apart from the novel coding, to precisely guide the refill in the dispenser during the movement from the insertion position to the dispensing position, which prevents jamming or Tilting of the refill in the dispenser is reliably avoided.
- the asymmetrical circumferential groove according to the invention will only be provided on one side of the refill, as well as the associated guide bar in the dispenser (as close as possible to the insertion position) in order to ensure that the refill cannot be inserted into the dispenser upside down by 180°.
- a guide bar arranged in the area of the insertion position can prevent incorrect insertion of a refill or an incorrect or uncoded refill from the outset.
- the guide bar can be used in another way, namely on the way from the insertion position to the dispensing position, for example by attaching a "coding trap" in a horizontal or slightly sloping section, which is preferably as Recess is formed in the guideway.
- the recess or several recesses offset one behind the other can be arranged in such a way that only one end of a bearing pin, which is guided exactly above it through the guide web, passes the recesses or interruptions in the guide track. Incorrectly coded or uncoded bearing journals fall into the recess and therefore cannot be used or dispensed in the dispenser.
- Another possible use of the guide bar aligned according to the invention is its use in the dispensing position itself. There it can in turn hold the correspondingly coded axle pin exactly in position and - if this is desired - also hold it in a rotationally fixed manner. In such a case, the refill must be able to move relative to the axle journal, because without this mobility/rotatability, a paper web cannot be dispensed when the axle journal is held in place.
- This rotary coding can be implemented in that the axle journal, whose asymmetrical circumferential groove is held in a rotationally fixed manner, is rotatably mounted relative to an axle carrier.
- This axle support can, for example, consist of an end cap that is inserted into a cardboard sleeve, but it can also be designed as a continuous rod across a roll of paper.
- Another way to create rotation between the bearing pin and the material web is to slide the material web on an axle support that is fixed to it connected to the bearing journal. Even then, the refill can be rotated relative to the held journal.
- the material web is toilet paper - preferably provided with tear-off perforations.
- the material web is a towel paper - preferably designed without tear-off perforations.
- the subject of the invention is a refill in which the bearing journal has at least one circumferential groove which is asymmetrically designed with respect to the axis of rotation.
- the shape and dimensions of this circumferential groove will be designed so that it fits a corresponding guide bar in the associated dispenser.
- a design is particularly favorable in which the circumferential groove extends into the bearing journal at its greatest depth, starting from the circumference and beyond the axis of rotation.
- the bottom of the circumferential groove is essentially flat and preferably runs transversely to the axis of rotation next to it, you can easily achieve that, for example in the No rotation of the bearing pin is possible in the dispensing position. This must then be achieved relative to the refill, which results in rotary coding in combination with the asymmetrically designed circumferential groove.
- circumferential groove does not mean that the groove extends over the entire circumference in the form of a circumferential groove: On the contrary, it is preferably provided that the circumferential groove extends only part of the circumference, while the remaining circumferential area preferably extends substantially Part of a cylinder jacket. This makes it possible to achieve asymmetry of the bearing journal in a simple manner, particularly in the form of an incision.
- the refill can have a storage unit which is then wrapped with the material web wound into a roll.
- the bearing unit itself essentially consists of an axle support, which is connected to the material web, and a specially coded bearing journal.
- the axle support itself can, for example, be formed from two separate end caps. But it can also be a continuous stick.
- the bearing journal itself is preferably specially coded on only one side, namely by an asymmetrical circumferential groove.
- FIG. 1 A dispenser for toilet paper, towel paper or the like is indicated Fig. 1 a housing 1 with a rear wall, two mutually parallel side walls 3 and an openable cover 6.
- two differently designed guide tracks 4, 5 extend, each in a plane from top to bottom into a dispensing position 10, in which elements not shown form a temporary support until the material web 12 wound into a roll 8 is used up.
- the roller 8 rotates about its axis, in which a support rod 11 is arranged with bearing pins 14, 15 projecting beyond the roller 8 on both sides.
- the material web 12 can be placed on a support rod 11
- Fig. 9 and Fig. 10 can also be arranged on a cardboard sleeve 31 closed by means of two end caps 30, the bearing pins 14, 15 protruding axially from the two end caps 30.
- the guide tracks 4, 5 in the side walls 3 have different cross-sections.
- the guide track 4 is a simple groove with a rectangular cross section
- the guide track 5 represents a groove with a more complex cross section.
- the bearing pins 14, 15 are also designed accordingly, that is, the bearing pin 14 represents a cylindrical pin which is inserted into the guide track 4 intervenes loosely.
- the bearing pin 15 has an end flange 24 which is separated from the support rod 11 or from the end cap 30 by a neck groove 23 and in which a circumferential groove 25 designed as an incision is provided parallel to the neck groove 23.
- the circumferential groove 25 in particular comprises more than half of the diameter of the bearing pin 15, and only a residual cross section remains in the form of a circular segment.
- a fin-like web 22 of the guide track 5 projects into the incision 25, so that the bearing pin 15 slides in the guide track 5 in an axially immovable and rotation-proof manner.
- the fin-like web 22 extends at least along a horizontal or moderately inclined section of the guide track 5, possibly to just in front of the dispensing position 10.
- the fin-like web 22 in any case bridges the in Fig. 4 apparent catching device for incorrectly or uncoded bearing pins, which has at least two interruptions 20a, 20b in the guideway, as will be explained in more detail below.
- Fig. 4 shows a section of a side wall 3 of the dispenser provided with the guide track 5.
- the guide track 5 begins at the insertion position 9 for the roller 8 with an entrance area that tapers like a funnel and continues in a section that slopes slightly backwards.
- two interruptions 20a, 20b are provided one after the other, approximately in the middle, in the form of a bulge or depression in the lower side wall of the guideway 5.
- the fin-like web 22 begins in the entrance area and extends over both interruptions 20a, 20b.
- Fig. 5 shows an opened dispenser with a support rod 11, shown in simplified form, inserted into the guide tracks 4, 5.
- the bearing pin 15 slides over the interruptions 20, as can be seen from the enlarged view in Fig. 3
- the support width of the head area 24, i.e. its extension parallel to the axis of the roller 8 is greater than the width of each of the two interruptions 20a, 20b.
- a displacement of the support rod 11 or the cardboard sleeve with end caps 30 in the axial direction is prevented by a guide surface, which can be provided in different ways.
- the guide surface can be formed on the fin-like web 22 projecting into the circumferential groove 25.
- a web or the like, not shown projects into the neck groove 23, and finally the guide surface can also be on the in Fig. 2 shown, opposite second side wall 3 of the dispenser.
- Fig. 6 to 8 show the Fig. 5 and 6 accordingly, same situation with two incorrect or mismatched support rods 11'. How out Fig. 7 and 8th
- the bearing pin 17 of a support rod 11 ' is shorter, so that when it is inserted into the guide track 5 it finds space on the left or, with a wider neck groove 23, on the right of the fin-like web 22.
- the interruptions 20a or 20b the bearing pin 17 falls into the recess from which the support rod 11 ', which is wrapped with the full roll 8, can only be grasped by hand with considerable difficulty and removed again.
- the interruptions 20a, 20b thus represent a safety device for rollers 8 with protruding, incorrectly or not coded bearing pins 17.
- FIG. 9 and 10 each show a top view of the section of the guide track 5 provided with the interruptions 20a, 20b Fig. 4 in two different versions.
- Fig. 9 shows the offset arrangement of the two interruptions 20a, 20b one after the other as well as the fin-like web 22 cut approximately parallel to it.
- a schematically indicated bearing pin 15 is shown in three positions one behind the other, being guided through the web 22 during its forward movement. The width of the side wall of the groove is greater than the width of the bearing journal, i.e.
- Fig. 10 an embodiment is shown with two interruptions 20a, 20b arranged next to one another and separated only by a thin central strip 27d, whereby the Guide surface against axial displacement of the support rod 11 or the cardboard sleeve provided with end caps 30 is formed by the contact with the opposite side wall 3 of the dispenser or in its guide track 4. It is obvious that incorrectly or uncoded support rods 11 ', as in the Fig. 7 and 8th shown fall into the interruptions 20a, 20b of the safety gear.
- Fig. 11 and 12 show oblique views of the section of the guideway according to Fig. 5 , where in Fig. 11 a bearing pin 15 is shown at the insertion position at the entrance into the guideway 5.
- the circumferential groove 25 parallel to the neck groove 23 between the head region 24 and the body of the bearing pin 15 can be clearly seen.
- the asymmetrical circumferential groove 25 represents a possibility of coding on the bearing journal side, for which the fin-like web 22 is shaped to match the coding of the guide track 5.
- a guide track 4 which has a guide web 22, is arranged in the side wall 3.
- this first section of the Guideway 4 is also provided with the interruption 20 already described above, which stops incorrectly or uncoded bearing journals. Only correctly coded bearing journals with an asymmetrical circumferential groove 25, which is fin-like Guide bar 22 are guided, can come safely over the interruption 20 by resting on the guide track 4.
- the bearing pin ultimately reaches position 15′′′ via positions 15′, 15′′, which corresponds to the dispensing position 10. From there, the paper or, in general, the material web wound into a roll is dispensed. It should be mentioned here that in the Fig. 13 For the sake of clarity, only the bearing pin 15 itself is shown. In reality, the bearing journal is just part of a bearing unit, namely an end cap, as shown in Fig. 18 is shown on the left. The entire storage unit of the Fig. 18 Incidentally, it consists of the left end cap with the bearing journal 15 and the right end cap with a purely cylindrical uncoded bearing journal.
- the Fig. 14 shows again in detail a section of the Fig. 13 in the area of the insertion position 9, whereby it is clearly visible how the guide web 22, which runs parallel to the web plane, engages in the asymmetrical circumferential groove 25 of the bearing pin 15 and thus guides it safely over the interruption.
- the interruption that in Fig. 13 is generally designated 20, is in detail a two-part interruption with two one behind the other, laterally offset interruptions 20a and 20b.
- the Fig. 15 shows the bearing pin 15 in the dispensing position 10, in which the paper is dispensed by rotating the refill.
- a guide web 20a aligned parallel to the path plane of the guideway engages in the asymmetrical circumferential groove 25.
- the bearing journal is in this position due to the intervention of the Guide web 20a is held in the circumferential groove 25 in a rotationally fixed manner.
- One turn of the refill roller., as shown in the Fig. 19 shown is only possible because the bearing pin 15 is rotatably mounted relative to the end cap, which is inserted into a cardboard sleeve of the refill. Bearings that do not have this rotation coding block. In such a case, paper cannot be removed from a roll.
- FIG. 16 The exemplary embodiment shown is not a towel dispenser as in the previously described figures, but rather a smaller dispenser for dispensing toilet paper, which is also simpler in design.
- a guide track 4 is again provided in the side track 3.
- the left side wall shows the bare guideway without the bearing pin inserted.
- two right end caps 30a are shown schematically, as shown in FIG Fig. 18 will be explained in more detail.
- the Fig. 17 differs from that Fig. 16 only in that two bearing pins 15 are shown in two different positions, namely in the insertion position at the top and in the dispensing position 10 at the bottom.
- a second guide web 22a in the area of the dispensing position 10.
- the bearing pin 15′′′ is located there, like that Fig. 17 shows, on a support 29 of a control lever 28. This control lever is moved away via a mechanism (not shown) when the paper roll is used up, which means that the bearing pin and thus the empty refill can fall down out of the dispenser.
- the bearing pin 15′′′ is held non-rotatably.
- the refill can only rotate because the bearing pin 15′′′ is mounted so that it can rotate relative to the end cap (rotation coding).
- Fig. 16 It can still be seen that the guide web 22b at the insertion position 9 has a beveled area 18, which enables easier insertion of a bearing pin with an asymmetrical circumferential groove.
- the exemplary embodiment shown is a storage unit which has two separate end caps 30 and 30a as an axle support, which can be inserted into a cardboard core sleeve 7 of the refill (roll of wound paper), not shown here.
- the two end caps 30 and 30a have projections 26.
- Right end cap 30a is a standard end cap with a cylindrical bearing pin 14.
- the left end cap 30 is a special end cap according to the invention; in addition to the end cap itself, it also includes a rotatably mounted bearing pin 15, which rotates about an axis of rotation 13 (central axis through the bearing pin) relative to the end cap 30 is rotatable.
- the bearing pin is held stationary in the dispensing position 10 while the entire refill 2 (material web 12/roll 8) rotates together with the end caps 30 and 30a.
- Fig. 18 one can see in the head area 24 of the bearing pin 15 an asymmetrical circumferential groove in the form of an incision.
- the term circumferential groove is used because the groove extends from the circumference of the otherwise cylindrical head area.
- the incision is deeper than the axis of rotation 13.
- the two side walls 25a are parallel to one another and are perpendicular to the axis of rotation 13.
- the groove bottom 25b is preferably flat and is also perpendicular to the axis of rotation, but runs in Fig. 18 below this past.
- the invention is not limited to cylindrical head areas of the bearing journal; for example, cube-shaped or differently shaped head areas can certainly be provided. It is essential that there is a groove that extends from the circumferential surface into the interior and is designed asymmetrically with respect to the axis of rotation.
- the Fig. 19 shows an embodiment of a refill according to the invention with the end caps Fig. 18 (the rear end cap 30a is in Fig. 19 not visible).
- the wound material web 12 (roll 8) preferably has In the middle there is a cardboard core sleeve 7, which is not visible here.
- the two end caps 30 and 30a are inserted into these. However, it can also basically be inserted directly into a material web wound with a cavity.
- the bearing pin 15 being specially designed according to the invention.
- it is preferably rotatable about the axis 13 relative to the end cap 30.
- it has a circumferential groove in the form of an incision 25 which is so deep that it extends beyond the axis of rotation.
- the two side walls 25a are essentially parallel to one another, possibly opened slightly upwards in a V-shape in order to enable easier penetration of a guide web 22 of the dispenser.
- the bottom 25b of the groove is preferably flat so that a guide web 22a provided in the dispensing position can rest there and prevent the head area of the bearing pin 15 from rotating. This makes it possible to implement a special rotary coding because the paper (material web 12) can only be unrolled from the refill 2 if the bearing pin 15a is rotatably mounted relative to the end cap 30 and thus relative to the entire remaining refill.
- the Fig. 21 shows a further exemplary embodiment of a bearing unit according to the invention, in which two separate end caps 30 and 30a are not provided as the axle carrier, but rather a continuous axle carrier 11. This in turn has projections 26 so that this axle carrier is secured against rotation a preferably coreless wound roll can be used.
- the bearing pin 15 and the axle carrier 11 are mounted so that they can rotate relative to one another.
- the axle journal 15 has an asymmetrical circumferential groove extending from the circumference perpendicular to the axis of rotation.
- the two parts 15 and 11 are rotatably connected to one another by holding means (not shown).
- these can be injection molded parts that have projecting locking lugs or locking troughs, so that the two parts lock against each other after being inserted but still remain rotatable.
- a bearing pin 15 is again provided, which has an asymmetrical circumferential groove.
- the bearing pin 15 is not rotatable relative to the fixed support rod, which is quite large in diameter, but is rather fixedly connected. If the bearing pin 15 is held in a rotationally fixed manner in the dispenser via the asymmetrical circumferential groove 25 in the dispensing position 10, the material web 12 (roll 8) of the refill 2 can only be unwound if this material web can be rotated by sliding relative to the fixed support rod 11a.
- a cardboard core 7 can optionally be present, but it is also possible for the material web to be wound directly onto the fixed support rod 11a.

Description
The invention relates to a refill for a dispenser, in particular a sanitary dispenser for dispensing toilet paper or towel paper.
- Dispenser: The dispenser is a device, preferably mounted on a wall, with a housing for receiving refills with a web of material wound into a roll. The dispenser typically has a guide track inside that leads from an upper insertion position to a lower donation position. Bearing pins protruding from the refill are guided in this guideway. In the dispensing position, the refill can rotate to unwind and dispense material from the dispenser in sections.
- Refill: Refill is a web of material, especially made of paper, wound into a roll. Bearing pins protrude from the refill on both sides, through which the refill is rotatably mounted.
- Bearing pins: The bearing pins protruding from the refill are used to rotatably store the refill in the dispenser.
- Axle carrier: On the one hand, the axle carrier is connected to the material web wound into a roll and, on the other hand, it carries the bearing pins that protrude over the roll
There are at least three types of axle carriers:- An axle support that essentially extends through the refill roller. Such an axle support is called a support rod.
- Two separate axle supports, which are inserted from the side into a roll - preferably with a hollow cardboard core. Such axle supports are called end caps.
- Two separate axle supports, which are preferably pressed into coreless wound rolls from the side in the axial area. Such axle supports are called holding tips.
- Storage unit: A storage unit is a structural unit consisting of an axle carrier and bearing journal, which can be used as a whole in a refill.
Dispensers for material webs wound into rolls (refills) are known in a variety of designs. The material webs are primarily papers, in particular sanitary or hygiene papers, household papers, etc. but also plastic or metal foils. The dispensers often have opposite walls in which guideways from a filling point at least up to a dispensing position, and if necessary further into a collecting chamber for empty storage units that hold the rolls.
A new refill is therefore inserted into the two guideways with the two bearing pins of a storage unit and then generally slides down into the dispensing position under the influence of gravity. If the bearing pins are formed at the ends of a support rod, the empty support rod falls further down into the collecting chamber after the roll has been used up and can be removed there.
If the refills should always be inserted in the same way and in the correct position, for example so that the material web is always offered in the same position, both the two guide tracks and the two bearing pins are designed differently to prevent incorrect insertion.

The object of the invention is to provide a further coding option for a dispenser and a refill and/or to provide a refill that can move well guided in at least one guideway of a dispenser.
This task is achieved by a refill with the features of
The essence of the invention is that, on the one hand, a special design with an asymmetrical circumferential groove is specified for the refill or its bearing pin and/or, on the other hand, a special one for a dispenser Guideway is proposed with a guide web that is aligned parallel to the track plane. These features make it possible to provide a new type of coding in which only certain journals or refills fit into certain dispensers.
The asymmetrical circumferential groove according to the invention and/or the matching guide web provided on the dispenser side and aligned parallel to the web plane make it possible, apart from the novel coding, to precisely guide the refill in the dispenser during the movement from the insertion position to the dispensing position, which prevents jamming or Tilting of the refill in the dispenser is reliably avoided.
In general, the asymmetrical circumferential groove according to the invention will only be provided on one side of the refill, as well as the associated guide bar in the dispenser (as close as possible to the insertion position) in order to ensure that the refill cannot be inserted into the dispenser upside down by 180°.
A guide bar arranged in the area of the insertion position can prevent incorrect insertion of a refill or an incorrect or uncoded refill from the outset.
However, the guide bar can be used in another way, namely on the way from the insertion position to the dispensing position, for example by attaching a "coding trap" in a horizontal or slightly sloping section, which is preferably as Recess is formed in the guideway. The recess or several recesses offset one behind the other can be arranged in such a way that only one end of a bearing pin, which is guided exactly above it through the guide web, passes the recesses or interruptions in the guide track. Incorrectly coded or uncoded bearing journals fall into the recess and therefore cannot be used or dispensed in the dispenser.
Another possible use of the guide bar aligned according to the invention is its use in the dispensing position itself. This allows you to implement rotary coding in which only refills that have such a rotary-coded property are suitable for output. On the one hand, this rotary coding can be implemented in that the axle journal, whose asymmetrical circumferential groove is held in a rotationally fixed manner, is rotatably mounted relative to an axle carrier. This axle support can, for example, consist of an end cap that is inserted into a cardboard sleeve, but it can also be designed as a continuous rod across a roll of paper.
Another way to create rotation between the bearing pin and the material web is to slide the material web on an axle support that is fixed to it connected to the bearing journal. Even then, the refill can be rotated relative to the held journal.
It can be provided that the material web is toilet paper - preferably provided with tear-off perforations.
It can be provided that the material web is a towel paper - preferably designed without tear-off perforations.
The subject of the invention is a refill in which the bearing journal has at least one circumferential groove which is asymmetrically designed with respect to the axis of rotation. The shape and dimensions of this circumferential groove will be designed so that it fits a corresponding guide bar in the associated dispenser.
A design is particularly favorable in which the circumferential groove extends into the bearing journal at its greatest depth, starting from the circumference and beyond the axis of rotation. Through such a very deep circumferential groove in the form of an incision, very high associated guide webs can be provided on the donor side, which on the one hand allow good mechanical guidance and on the other hand have a high level of coding security against inserting incorrectly coded or uncoded rods.
If the bottom of the circumferential groove is essentially flat and preferably runs transversely to the axis of rotation next to it, you can easily achieve that, for example in the No rotation of the bearing pin is possible in the dispensing position. This must then be achieved relative to the refill, which results in rotary coding in combination with the asymmetrically designed circumferential groove.
Incidentally, the term circumferential groove does not mean that the groove extends over the entire circumference in the form of a circumferential groove: On the contrary, it is preferably provided that the circumferential groove extends only part of the circumference, while the remaining circumferential area preferably extends substantially Part of a cylinder jacket. This makes it possible to achieve asymmetry of the bearing journal in a simple manner, particularly in the form of an incision.
The refill can have a storage unit which is then wrapped with the material web wound into a roll. The bearing unit itself essentially consists of an axle support, which is connected to the material web, and a specially coded bearing journal. The axle support itself can, for example, be formed from two separate end caps. But it can also be a continuous stick.
The bearing journal itself is preferably specially coded on only one side, namely by an asymmetrical circumferential groove.
