Definitions
- the invention relates to a refuse container with a container pan and a cover construction which has at least one pivoting cover for covering the container pan on the pan top.
- the risk of damage can primarily come from a possible malfunction of the height sensor that detects the lifted condition of the garbage container may not be properly recognized in the event of an error. If the garbage truck tries to empty the container despite the container lid still being locked, the locking device can suffer mechanical damage.
- One object of the invention is to provide a refuse container which is particularly suitable for communal use in a residential complex and which is comparatively less susceptible to damage when it is emptied by a refuse truck.
- the invention is based on a garbage container, which comprises: a container trough; a lid construction with at least one pivoting lid for covering the top of the container tub, the pivoting lid being held on a lid carrier so that it can pivot about a pivot axis relative thereto; and locking means for releasably locking the pivoting lid against pivoting relative to the lid support in a given relative locking pivoting position.
- the blocking pivoting position is a position which corresponds to a closed position of the pivoting cover in a state of readiness for the disposal of garbage in which the container pan is covered by the cover structure against disposal of garbage.
- the blocking device comprises a locking body which is arranged to be displaceable from a locking position into a release position by the influence of gravity.
- the blocking device comprises a movably arranged control body and an electrically controllable drive unit for the control body, it being possible to transfer the locking body from the locking position into the release position by driving the control body.
- the locking body can be moved from its locking position into the release position by two types of mechanism.
- a first mechanism is based on the influence of gravity, ie with suitable maneuvering and a correspondingly changed spatial orientation of the cover carrier, gravity causes the locking body to leave its locking position and reach the release position.
- a second mechanism is based on the active influencing of the locking body by the control body, for which purpose the drive unit must be activated.
- the gravity mechanism is independent of the control body mechanism.
- the gravity mechanism can be used, for example, when emptying the garbage container, in that a gripper of the garbage truck grips the cover carrier and, by suitable displacement of the cover carrier, causes the locking body to move into its release position due to gravity.
- the control body mechanism can be reserved for the users of the garbage container, for example the residents of a residential complex. They have to activate the drive unit using an authorization key, for example, in order to unlock the swivel lid and gain access to the garbage compartment of the garbage container.
- the authorization key can, for example, be in the form of a card, pen or some other form and can contain authorization information that can be read electrically, electromagnetically, magnetically or optically.
- the authorization key can not only be a passive carrier of authorization information, but can also be designed with electronic intelligence in the form of a processor with a control program.
- the drive unit is an electromotive drive unit, ie it includes an electric motor and can also include a reduction gear in the power transmission path from the electric motor to the control body.
- an embodiment of the drive unit with an electromagnet actuator, a bimetallic actuator or an actuator working according to a different operating principle is conceivable.
- the blocking device comprises a blocking body that is separate from the blocking body and is arranged to be movable relative to an engaged structure between an engaged position and a disengaged position, which in the engaged position is in an engagement with the engagement structure that blocks the pivoting cover from pivoting out of the blocking pivoted position and in which Release position is released from the locking engagement with the engagement structure and allows pivoting of the pivoting lid.
- the locking body locks the blocking body against movement from the engaged position into the disengaged position and, in the release position, releases the blocking body for movement from the engaged position into the disengaged position.
- the engagement structure is formed by a sliding body which is movably coupled to the pivoting lid via a lever linkage and is in particular elongate in the manner of a rod and which is guided in a linearly movable manner on the lid carrier.
- the lever linkage converts a pivoting movement of the pivoting cover into a linear movement of the sliding body.
- the locking body can be arranged to be movable in a linear direction perpendicular to the guiding direction of the sliding body between the engaged position and the disengaged position.
- the locking body is spring biased toward its disengaged position.
- the engagement between the blocking body and the engagement structure is designed such that when the blocking body is released, it can be pushed out of the engaged position into the disengaged position by the engagement structure being displaced transversely, in particular perpendicularly, to the direction of movement of the blocking body.
- the blocking body is formed by a bolt body which, in the engaged position, engages in a blocking recess of a sliding body forming the engagement structure and arranged movably in a linear sliding direction in particular.
- the locking recess is delimited in the sliding direction by side flanks, at least one of which is designed as a sloping flank.
- the oblique design of the at least one side flank allows a wedge effect, through which the blocking body can be pushed out of the blocking recess by moving the sliding body.
- the side flank in question can, for example, run obliquely in a straight line or have an arcuately curved course.
- the locking body to be designed as a pivoting body which is pivotable about a pivot axis that is stationary relative to the cover carrier. At least one pendulum weight projecting beyond the locking body in the direction of gravity is held on the locking body. The at least one pendulum weight causes the locking body to be stabilized against undesired pivoting movements, such as can be caused, for example, by vibrations in the garbage container. In certain embodiments, a pair of pendulum weights hanging down on either side of the locking body is held on the locking body.
- the lid support can be formed by the container pan itself or by a component attached to the container pan in an immovable manner relative to it. In certain embodiments, however, the cover carrier is formed by a component held on the container trough so that it can move relative to the latter. Certain embodiments provide that the lid support is designed as a swivel support, which is held on the container trough so that it can swivel about a swivel axis between a ready position for throwing in the garbage and a ready position for emptying the garbage.
- the cover carrier will usually be in its dump-ready position.
- the cover carrier must be pivoted into the ready position for waste emptying, for example by a suitably designed gripper of the refuse truck, so that manual pivoting of the cover carrier is not necessary, provided that such a movement is possible at all.
- a gravity-induced movement of the locking body goes into the release position, which is why the pivoting lid is unlocked in the refuse emptying ready position and can be actively opened or can open automatically when the waste container is tilted under the influence of gravity.
- garbage container is suitable for use as a community container in a residential complex for several households, for example as a community container for apartment buildings. It only allows trash to be thrown in after a user has identified themselves as authorized. To do this, the user must bring together an information carrier serving as an authorization key with a reading device, not shown in detail in the figures, which can read out authorization data from the information carrier contactlessly or by contact. If the user proves to be authorized, a control unit unlocks the garbage container 10. Only after unlocking can the user fold up a locking lid 12 of the garbage container 10 and thereby gain access to the interior of the garbage container 10. After he has thrown his rubbish into the rubbish container 10, the user folds down the opened closing cover 12 again, whereupon the control unit causes the rubbish container 10 to be locked again. It is therefore not possible to throw garbage into the garbage container 10 without authorization.
- the dumpster 10 may be constructed as an overhead container and may include wheels or casters (not shown) to allow it to be wheeled from one location to another.
- the garbage container 10 has a container trough 14 which is, for example, approximately square or rectangular in plan view from above and in which the garbage that has been thrown in is collected.
- a cover construction 16 is held on the container trough 14, which in the example shown has a support bracket 18 with two closing covers 12 pivotably attached thereto.
- the carrier bracket 18, which forms a lid carrier within the meaning of the invention, is pivotably mounted on support brackets 20 about a horizontal pivot axis, which are fixedly mounted on opposite walls of the container tub 14 (in figure 2 only one of the support brackets 20 is visible; the other support bracket 20 is located at the perpendicular to the plane of the figure 2 rear tub wall of the container tub 14).
- the support bracket 18 is composed of two high struts 22 articulated to one of the support brackets 20 and a cross strut 24 that connects the two high struts 22 to one another and extends horizontally over the container tub 14 .
- the support bracket 18 can thus have an approximate PI shape, with the center limb of the PI forming the cross brace 24 and being longer than the two side limbs of the PI (which form the two upright braces 22).
- the support bracket 18 in an upright position corresponds to a ready position of the carrier bracket 18 for refuse disposal.
- the carrier bracket 18 holds the closing lids 12 held on it in a position relative to the container pan 14 in which the closing lids 12 can close the container pan 14 and in which the closing lids 12 can release access to the interior of the container trough 14 by folding up, if the garbage dump is to be allowed.
- the carrier bracket 18 is in the in figure 2 shown situation from the garbage disposal ready position figure 1 towards one Garbage emptying stand-by position pivoted.
- the dump-ready position is a position in which the support bracket 18 occupies a position relative to the container pan 14 in which the dumpster 10 is ready for dumping.
- Ready for emptying means in particular that as a result of the pivoting of the carrier bracket 18, it is moved out of the way the garbage falls and consequently no longer represents an obstacle for the garbage when the garbage container 10 is lifted by a garbage truck for the purpose of emptying and tilted in the air and the garbage falls out of the dumpster 10.
- the closing lids 12 are offset in relation to the container pan 14 as a result of the pivoting of the support bracket 18 in such a way that this offset alone opens up access to the interior of the container pan 14, as well shown in figure 2 recognizable.
- the pivoting of the support bracket 18 from the ready position for waste disposal in the direction of the ready position for waste emptying causes the locking lids 12 to be unlocked by gravity is tilted in the air, then unfold as a result of the tilting and release a large opening overall, through which the garbage can fall out of the garbage container 10.
- the position that the carrier bracket 18 is in figure 4 occupies corresponds to the garbage emptying stand-by position.
- the support bracket 18 is on the way to the garbage emptying stand-by position, but has not yet reached it.
- the closing covers 12 can each be fixed in a defined relative pivoted position (locked pivoted position) with respect to the carrier bracket 18 .
- the locked pivoting position of the closing lid 12 corresponds to a closed position in which the closing lid 12 in question closes the portion of the container tub 14 allocated to it to prevent throwing in garbage.
- the closing lid 12 on the right in the drawing is in this closed position; it locks the right half of the container against throwing in rubbish.
- the closing cover 12 on the left in the drawing is in figure 1 pivoted from the closed position relative to the carrier bracket 18 into an open position in which it makes the left-hand half of the container accessible for throwing in the garbage.
- a cover locking module 26 is assigned to at least one of the closing covers 12 and, in certain embodiments, to each of the closing covers 12.
- the lid locking module 26 is designed for a bi-modal unlocking of the relevant locking lid 12, once by the influence of gravity and the other time by active, electrically controlled intervention.
- the Figures 5 to 7 show the lid locking module 26 isolated from the other components of the garbage container 10. It comprises a base body 28 to be fastened to the carrier bracket 18, which forms a linear sliding guide for a rod body 32 designed with a locking recess 30. The latter is coupled in terms of movement to the closing cover 12 in question via a lever linkage 38 formed by two linkage members 34 , 36 .
- the linkage member 36 has a mounting seat 40 for fixed connection to the respective closure cover 12; for example, the cover locking module 26 is welded or screwed to the mounting seat 40 with the relevant closure cover 12 .
- the linkage member 34 is pivotally connected both to the linkage member 36 and to the rod body 32, respectively. A pivoting movement of the closing cover 12 in question relative to the support bracket 18 about a cover pivot axis 42 ( Figures 3 and 4 ) is transformed into a linear movement of the rod body 32 by the lever linkage 38 .
- a locking pin 44 is movably arranged on the base body 28 in a direction perpendicular to the linear guide direction of the rod body 32 between an engaged position and a disengaged position.
- the locking pin 44 engages in the locking recess 30 of the rod body 32 and thus locks the relevant locking cover 12 against pivoting relative to the carrier bracket 18.
- the locked pivoting position of the locking cover 12 is defined by the engagement of the locking pin 44 in the locking recess 30.
- the locking bolt 44 is moved out of the locking recess 30 so that the rod body 32 is released for a linear displacement and consequently the closing cover 12 for a pivoting relative to the carrier bracket 18 .
- the locking pin 44 is moved by a spring element 46 in the direction of its disengaged position figure 7 prestressed.
- the locking recess 30 is in the linear guide direction of the rod body 32 by side flanks 48 ( figure 7 ) which run sufficiently obliquely (in the example shown obliquely in a straight line) to the direction of movement of the locking pin 44, so that when force is applied to the rod body 32, the locking pin 44 is forced out of engagement with the locking recess 30 by a wedge effect between the locking pin 44 and one of the side flanks 48 in question and can be urged into its disengaged position.
- the prestressing force of the spring element 46 can support the movement of the locking bolt 44 out of the locking recess 30 or—in certain embodiments—even do it alone.
- the prerequisite for the above pushing back of the locking pin 44 from the engaged position into the disengaged position is that the locking pin 44 is not in its engaged position according to FIG figure 6 by a locking body 50 (see in particular Figures 6 and 7 ) is locked.
- the locking body 50 is mounted on the base body 28 so that it can pivot about a pivot axis 52 relative thereto and, in the example shown, has an approximately egg-shaped (or generally oval shape. It goes without saying that other rotationally asymmetrical configurations of the locking body 50 are readily conceivable.
- a rotational asymmetry of the mass distribution of the locking body 50 is desirable in the embodiment shown, because the locking body 50 should have the ability under the influence of gravity from one to the Figures 3 and 6 shown relative locking position (relative to the base body 28) in a figure 7 to pivot shown relative release position. It goes without saying that the locking body 50 is suspended on the base body 28 in a correspondingly smooth-running and low-friction manner in order to enable such a pivoting of the locking body 50 as a result of gravity.
- the locking body 50 In the locking position, the locking body 50 assumes a position in which it blocks the locking pin 44 against moving back from the engaged position into the disengaged position. By pivoting the locking body 50 into the release position, the locking pin 44 gains the necessary space to move back from the engaged position into the disengaged position. From the comparison of Figures 3 and 4 you can see that a pivoting of the support bracket 18 from the garbage disposal ready position ( figure 3 ) into the garbage emptying stand-by position ( figure 4 ) brings about a gravity-induced pivoting of the locking body 50 from the locking position into the release position. Consequently, when the carrier bracket 18 is transferred to the position of readiness for emptying the refuse, the locking of the closing lids 12 is released; these are then free to leave their relative closed position (relative to the support bracket 18).
- the locking cover 12 is unlocked by gravity as soon as the carrier bracket 18 has been pivoted by a comparatively small pivot angle.
- the locking cover 12 can be unlocked after a pivoting path of approximately 15 degrees (ie angular degrees) or approximately 20 degrees or approximately 25 degrees or approximately 30 degrees.
- the closing cover 12 on the right in the drawing has left its closed position, while the closing cover 12 on the left in the drawing is still in its closed position (in figure 4 recognizable lid closing module 26 is assigned to this left closing lid 12).
- It can be the contour of the container trough 14 that causes at least one of the closing lids 12 to leave its closed position when the carrier bracket 18 is pivoted in the direction of the ready position for waste emptying.
- it is the pivoting cover 12 that is leading in the pivoting direction of the carrier bracket 18 and cannot remain in its closed position when the carrier bracket 18 is pivoted toward its ready position for waste emptying. It is of course possible that when the carrier bracket 18 pivots towards its ready position for emptying the waste, both closing covers 12 are forced to leave their closed position.
- the dead weight of the closing cover 12 is in any case large enough to even without the supporting action of the spring element 46 to drive the locking pin 44 into its disengaged position.
- two pendulum weights 54 are suspended on the locking body 50 on both sides thereof (on both sides in relation to the axial direction of the pivot axis 52) so that they can swing.
- the locking body 50 can have a protruding bearing pin 56 on both sides (see in particular figures 5 ) have on which the relevant pendulum weight 54 hangs.
- the pendulum weights 54 can oscillate relative to the locking body 50 and have the purpose of dampening the response of the locking body 50 to vibrations, impacts and other brief external influences, so that the locking body 50 does not release the locking pin 44 even with minor vibrations.
- the pendulum weights 54 can also have a generally oval shape; they oscillate about a pendulum axis which, when the locking body 50 is in the locking position, lies on a line which runs from the pivot axis 52 to the locking pin 44 .
- the locking body 50 can be moved not only by the effect of gravity from its locking position into the release position, but also by active intervention by means of a control lever 58, which is contained in the cover locking module 26 and, in the example shown, can be pivoted on the base body 28 about a lever axis 60 parallel to the pivot axis 52 is held.
- the control lever 58 can be set between an in figure 6 rest position shown and one in figure 7 shown control position are pivoted.
- a linearly movable control slide could be used. In the rest position, the control lever 58 has no influence on the locking body 50, but when it is transferred from the rest position to the control position, it forces the locking body 50 out of its locking position in the direction of the release position.
- the lid locking module 26 includes an electrically controllable drive unit 62 ( figure 5 ), which includes, for example, an electric motor as a generator of the driving force for the control lever 58.
- the drive unit 62 is electrically controlled by a control unit not shown in detail in the drawings.
- the control unit works together with a reading device, also not shown in detail in the drawings, which can read authorization information stored there from an authorization code of a user.
- the control unit uses the authorization information to determine whether the user is authorized to use the waste container 10 . If he is authorized, the control unit controls the drive unit 62 to release the arresting body 50.
- the blockage of the locking pin 44 can be actively removed by the arresting body 50, so that the user can remove the relevant Closing cover 12 can open with manual force.
- the inside figure 1 left of the two closing lid 12 was opened in such a way.
- the garbage container 10 consequently enables in its garbage disposal-ready state, when the support bracket 18 is in the garbage disposal-ready position, unlocking of the respective closing lid 12 by active actuation of the control lever 58. If the carrier bracket is transferred into the refuse emptying-ready position, gravity causes a Unlocking the closing cover 12 by the locking body 50 pivots due to gravity into its release position.

Description
The invention relates to a refuse container with a container pan and a cover construction which has at least one pivoting cover for covering the container pan on the pan top.

In residential complexes with apartments for several households, common rubbish containers are often set up, which can be used by the members of all households in the residential complex to throw in rubbish. Conventional communal dumpsters are closed by a lid construction having one or more hinged lids. The pivoting lid can be locked by a locking device in a closed state in which it is not possible to throw in the garbage. Households are given authorization keys, e.g. in the form of an electrically or magnetically readable information carrier, which can be used to unlock the waste containers in an electrically controlled manner. There is a reading device directly on the rubbish container in question or in the vicinity thereof, with which the user must merge his authorization code. If the user proves to be authorized, the relevant garbage container is unlocked and the user can open the container lid and throw their garbage into the container. In this way, it is possible for the residents of the residential complex to bill the container usage according to the cause.
The disposal of the communal garbage is often done by means of a garbage truck, which can lift the garbage container, tilt it and empty it into a hold. Such garbage trucks regularly service a variety of residential complexes. It would be impractical if refuse truck drivers had to manually use an authorization key to unlock a refuse container each time before it can be emptied. Conventional container solutions therefore envisage equipping the waste container with a sensor to record the geodetic height. Such a sensor can be used to detect the lifting of the garbage container by a garbage truck. If a control unit of the garbage container recognizes from the sensor signal that the container has been lifted, the control unit causes the container to be unlocked. It has been shown in practice that with solutions of this type, the blocking device is exposed to a comparatively high risk of being damaged by the garbage truck. The risk of damage can primarily come from a possible malfunction of the height sensor that detects the lifted condition of the garbage container may not be properly recognized in the event of an error. If the garbage truck tries to empty the container despite the container lid still being locked, the locking device can suffer mechanical damage.
One object of the invention is to provide a refuse container which is particularly suitable for communal use in a residential complex and which is comparatively less susceptible to damage when it is emptied by a refuse truck.
In solving this problem, the invention is based on a garbage container, which comprises: a container trough; a lid construction with at least one pivoting lid for covering the top of the container tub, the pivoting lid being held on a lid carrier so that it can pivot about a pivot axis relative thereto; and locking means for releasably locking the pivoting lid against pivoting relative to the lid support in a given relative locking pivoting position. The blocking pivoting position is a position which corresponds to a closed position of the pivoting cover in a state of readiness for the disposal of garbage in which the container pan is covered by the cover structure against disposal of garbage. The blocking device comprises a locking body which is arranged to be displaceable from a locking position into a release position by the influence of gravity. In the locking position, the locking body locks the pivoting lid against pivoting out of the blocked pivoting position. On the other hand, in its release position, the locking body allows the pivoting lid to be pivoted out of the locked pivoted position. According to the invention, the blocking device comprises a movably arranged control body and an electrically controllable drive unit for the control body, it being possible to transfer the locking body from the locking position into the release position by driving the control body.
In the solution according to the invention, the locking body can be moved from its locking position into the release position by two types of mechanism. A first mechanism is based on the influence of gravity, ie with suitable maneuvering and a correspondingly changed spatial orientation of the cover carrier, gravity causes the locking body to leave its locking position and reach the release position. A second mechanism is based on the active influencing of the locking body by the control body, for which purpose the drive unit must be activated. The gravity mechanism is independent of the control body mechanism. The gravity mechanism can be used, for example, when emptying the garbage container, in that a gripper of the garbage truck grips the cover carrier and, by suitable displacement of the cover carrier, causes the locking body to move into its release position due to gravity. There is a risk of damaging the dumpster by the garbage truck comparatively low, because the gravity mechanism offers high functional reliability and is less likely to fail. The control body mechanism, on the other hand, can be reserved for the users of the garbage container, for example the residents of a residential complex. They have to activate the drive unit using an authorization key, for example, in order to unlock the swivel lid and gain access to the garbage compartment of the garbage container. The authorization key can, for example, be in the form of a card, pen or some other form and can contain authorization information that can be read electrically, electromagnetically, magnetically or optically. In certain embodiments, the authorization key can not only be a passive carrier of authorization information, but can also be designed with electronic intelligence in the form of a processor with a control program.
In certain embodiments, the drive unit is an electromotive drive unit, ie it includes an electric motor and can also include a reduction gear in the power transmission path from the electric motor to the control body. Alternatively, for example, an embodiment of the drive unit with an electromagnet actuator, a bimetallic actuator or an actuator working according to a different operating principle is conceivable.
In certain embodiments, the blocking device comprises a blocking body that is separate from the blocking body and is arranged to be movable relative to an engaged structure between an engaged position and a disengaged position, which in the engaged position is in an engagement with the engagement structure that blocks the pivoting cover from pivoting out of the blocking pivoted position and in which Release position is released from the locking engagement with the engagement structure and allows pivoting of the pivoting lid. In the locking position, the locking body locks the blocking body against movement from the engaged position into the disengaged position and, in the release position, releases the blocking body for movement from the engaged position into the disengaged position.
In certain embodiments, the engagement structure is formed by a sliding body which is movably coupled to the pivoting lid via a lever linkage and is in particular elongate in the manner of a rod and which is guided in a linearly movable manner on the lid carrier. The lever linkage converts a pivoting movement of the pivoting cover into a linear movement of the sliding body. The locking body can be arranged to be movable in a linear direction perpendicular to the guiding direction of the sliding body between the engaged position and the disengaged position.
In certain embodiments, the locking body is spring biased toward its disengaged position. In certain embodiments, the engagement between the blocking body and the engagement structure is designed such that when the blocking body is released, it can be pushed out of the engaged position into the disengaged position by the engagement structure being displaced transversely, in particular perpendicularly, to the direction of movement of the blocking body.
Certain embodiments provide that the blocking body is formed by a bolt body which, in the engaged position, engages in a blocking recess of a sliding body forming the engagement structure and arranged movably in a linear sliding direction in particular. The locking recess is delimited in the sliding direction by side flanks, at least one of which is designed as a sloping flank. The oblique design of the at least one side flank allows a wedge effect, through which the blocking body can be pushed out of the blocking recess by moving the sliding body. The side flank in question can, for example, run obliquely in a straight line or have an arcuately curved course.
Certain embodiments that do not require the control body mechanism, i.e. can also be implemented without the control body and its drive unit, provide for the locking body to be designed as a pivoting body which is pivotable about a pivot axis that is stationary relative to the cover carrier.
The lid support can be formed by the container pan itself or by a component attached to the container pan in an immovable manner relative to it. When the cover carrier is in the ready position for refuse disposal, an equilibrium position of the locking body corresponds to its locking position, and in the ready position for refuse emptying of the cover carrier, an equilibrium position of the locking body corresponds to its release position. As long as the Dumpster is ready for dumping, the cover carrier will usually be in its dump-ready position. In contrast, for waste emptying by means of a refuse truck, the cover carrier must be pivoted into the ready position for waste emptying, for example by a suitably designed gripper of the refuse truck, so that manual pivoting of the cover carrier is not necessary, provided that such a movement is possible at all. With the pivoting of the cover carrier in the waste emptying ready position, a gravity-induced movement of the locking body goes into the release position, which is why the pivoting lid is unlocked in the refuse emptying ready position and can be actively opened or can open automatically when the waste container is tilted under the influence of gravity.
