Definitions
- the invention relates to a connector, in particular direct connector for contacting contact openings of a circuit board, with a contact carrier, which may have coding means, in particular coding pins and a reverse polarity protection, in particular in the form of polarity projections, with conductor insertion channels formed by the contact carrier for receiving connecting conductors and with contact recesses for receiving plug contacts and with a primary fuse holding the contact carrier on the printed circuit board, in particular in the form of latching elements, the contact carrier is provided with a secondary fuse which fixes the contact carrier in addition to the primary fuse on the printed circuit board and can be handled independently of the primary fuse.
- Direct connectors are plug-in devices whose contacts directly contact conductor sections of printed circuit boards.
- the direct connectors are provided with plug contacts for specially shaped printed circuit boards.
- the printed circuit boards have openings, the inner circumferential surfaces of which are provided with an electrically conductive layer. The contact fingers of the plug contacts come into direct contact with this conductive layer of the circuit board.
- Connectors of the generic type which have a primary fuse in order to arrange the contact carrier firmly on the printed circuit board and to protect it from unintentional detachment from the printed circuit board, for example by tensile forces which are applied by the connecting conductors.
- the primary fuse also holds the connector firmly against vibrations Circuit board. This ensures safe and permanent contact.
- Such primary fuses are for example in the DE 20 2016 105525 U1 and the DE 20 2016 1053658 U1 described.
- the contact carrier is fixed to the printed circuit board by means of expansion bolts arranged on the contact carrier.
- the expansion bolts of the contact carrier cooperate with mounting holes in the circuit board to hold the connector on the circuit board.
- This primary fuse includes locking elements. These locking elements are arranged on the contact carrier and cooperate with free cuts in the circuit board in order to firmly arrange the contact carrier on the circuit board.
- latching means which are formed by the latching elements, reach under the circuit board on the underside facing away from the connector.
- DE 103 18 980 A1 describes a connector for the electrical connection of electronic components, the upper housing part of which forms integrally designed tabs with bores which serve for the mechanical connection of the connector to the printed circuit board.
- the US 2008/318452 A1 discloses a connector which is arranged on a circuit board by means of a primary fuse as well as a function-dependent secondary fuse.
- the primary fuse is designed as a fork-shaped securing element and the secondary fuse as a fastening nut.
- Connectors are subject to constant miniaturization.
- the requirements for securing the connector on the circuit board remain at least constant.
- the object of the invention is to provide a connector, the design of which enables a secure arrangement on the circuit board.
- the invention is solved by a connector with the features of claim 1, in particular with its characterizing features, according to which the secondary fuse is a detachable pin which can be mounted separately on the contact carrier, the detent pin being pre-latched in an assembly position on the contact carrier and in a position defining the contact carrier on the printed circuit board Functional position is finally locked on the circuit board and the locking pin is provided with a first locking geometry, which is used for pre-assembly and has a second locking geometry, which cooperates with the circuit board to fix the contact carrier.
- the secondary fuse is a detachable pin which can be mounted separately on the contact carrier, the detent pin being pre-latched in an assembly position on the contact carrier and in a position defining the contact carrier on the printed circuit board Functional position is finally locked on the circuit board and the locking pin is provided with a first locking geometry, which is used for pre-assembly and has a second locking geometry, which cooperates with the circuit board to fix the contact carrier.
- the main advantage of the invention is that the connector has a secondary fuse. This defines the contact carrier in addition to the primary fuse on the circuit board, whereby there is no interdependency between the primary and secondary fuse. This makes it possible to continue to securely fix the contact carrier to the circuit board in the event of a failure or loss of a primary fuse.
- the secondary fuse ensures that the connector can withstand higher tensile forces than would be possible with the primary fuse alone.
- the holding forces of primary and secondary securing add up at least partially.
- the secondary fuse is a locking pin that can be mounted separately on the contact carrier.
- the locking pin is pre-locked in an assembly position on the contact carrier and is finally locked in a functional position in which it fixes the contact carrier on the printed circuit board.
- the locking pin is provided with a first locking geometry, which is used for pre-assembly and has a second locking geometry, which cooperates with the printed circuit board for fixing the contact carrier.
- the locking pin can be moved into a locking position and an unlocking position, the locking pin fixing the contact carrier on the printed circuit board in the locking position and the fixing effect of the locking pin being canceled in the unlocking position.
- the locking pin is rotatably arranged in a bore that passes through the contact carrier and is parallel to the direction of insertion.
- the second locking geometry only partially surrounds the outer circumference of the locking pin and that the second locking geometry has two diametrically opposite locking projections. If the locking pin is rotatably mounted in the contact carrier, this locking geometry in conjunction with suitable openings in the printed circuit board enables the pre-locking to be released.
- the locking projections are designed like thread sections.
- the threaded sections allow the contact carrier and printed circuit board to be braced in the case of a rotatably mounted locking pin.
- the locking pin enables a holding force of up to 72 Newtons.
- the locking pin can have a tool attachment, for example a groove.
- the locking pin can be rotated in the bore with a tool, for example a screwdriver. For this purpose, it is provided that a rotation through 90 ° moves the locking pin from its locking position to its unlocking position.
- FIGS Figures 15 to 18 A first embodiment of the connector 10 is disclosed.
- a second embodiment is shown in FIGS Figures 15 to 18 shown.
- Components that are identical in construction or have the same function are identified with identical reference symbols and terms. Unless otherwise stated, the explanations for an exemplary embodiment apply mutatis mutandis to the alternative embodiment.
- a circuit board 19 is shown in the Fig. 1 in addition to the connector 10 with a contact carrier 11 and a secondary fuse 26, a circuit board 19 is shown.
- the connector 10 has the contact carrier 11, which forms a housing 13 for plug contacts 12.
- the housing 13 of the contact carrier 11 is provided with conductor insertion channels 14, which serve to accommodate connecting conductors, not shown here. These are electrically connected to the plug contacts 12 via insulation displacement forks 48.
- the plug contacts 12 form the contact fingers 49, which engage under the contact opening 36 of a printed circuit board 19 as soon as the plug connector 10 is arranged on the printed circuit board 19, as for example in FIG Fig. 11 shown.
- the housing 13 is equipped with contact recesses 15 into which the plug contacts 12 are inserted.
- the housing 13 carries on its outer surface a plurality of coding pins 16 which project the plug connector 10 in the plugging direction and assign the plug connector 10 on the printed circuit board 19 with a corresponding coding, in particular in the form of coding holes 37.
- the housing 13 has 20 latching hooks 21 on its front side, by means of which a plurality of plug connectors 10 can be arranged next to one another for assembly purposes.
- the housing 13 forms contours for receiving 23 latching hooks 21, by means of which further plug connectors 10 can be arranged on the contact carrier 11.
- the contact carrier 11 is equipped with a reverse polarity protection 18.
- the reverse polarity protection 18 is intended to avoid short-circuit contacting of the plug contacts 12 with the contact openings 36 of the printed circuit board 19.
- the reverse polarity protection 18 is from three of the bottom of the contact carrier 11 originating polarity projections 56 are formed, such as in Fig. 6 shown. Two of the polarization projections 56 are formed on the contact carrier 11 on the right with respect to the paper plane, whereas only one polarization projection 56 is formed on the left with respect to the paper plane.
- the housing 13 of the contact carrier 11 is penetrated with a bore 24 parallel to the direction of insertion.
- This bore 24 has a first notch 25A and a second notch 25B.
- the second notch 25B is an optional and not a mandatory feature of the bore 24.
- the bore 24 serves to receive the secondary fuse 26, in particular in the form of a locking pin 27.
- the locking pin 27 has a head region 28 and a pin-like base body 29.
- the Fig. 2a shows the locking pin 27 in side view.
- the outer circumference of the pin-like base body 29 of the locking pin 27 is partially surrounded by assembly locking projections 47 and locking latch projections 33.
- the assembly latching projections 47 serve for the pre-assembly of the latching pin 27 on the contact carrier 11.
- the latching latching projections 33 engage under the printed circuit board 19 and hold the plug connector 10 on the printed circuit board 19.
- the locking latch projections 33 which are enlarged in Fig. 2b are formed like a thread section and serve to brace the contact carrier 11 on the printed circuit board 19. At the same time, the thread pitch also enables compensation of printed circuit board tolerances.
- the pin-like base body 29 of the locking pin 27 has a slot 41 which is delimited by a first side wall 40A and a second side wall 40B.
- the slot 41 enables the side walls 40A and 40B, which carry the locking catch projections 33, to be moved back in a smaller diameter.
- the rib 31 is shown in the head region 28. This cooperates with the first or the second notch 25A, 25B of the bore 24 (see Fig. 1 , Fig. 5 ). Depending on the locking position of the locking pin 27, this rib 31 cooperates with the first or second notch 25A, 25B and thus holds the locking pin 27 or its locking locking projections 33 in the locking or unlocking position of the secondary lock 26.
- the rib 31 and the head region 28 of the locking pin 27 are in the Fig. 3 shown.
- the head region 28 forms a groove 30A, which serves to receive a tool, not shown here, and thus displaces the locking pin 27 in the locking or unlocking position.
- a screwdriver can be inserted into the groove 30A, by means of which the locking pin 27 can be rotated through 90 ° in the bore 24.
- the Fig. 4 shows the circuit board 19 from above.
- the circuit board 19 forms the contact openings 36 for receiving the plug contacts 12 of the contact carrier 11.
- the circuit board 19 has an opening 39 formed in the middle of the circuit board 19 with a keyhole-like contour. This contour is subdivided into a straw section 58 and a beard section 38.
- the straw section 58 serves to hold the pin-like base body 29 of the locking pin 27.
- the beard section 38 serves to hold a coding pin 16 of the contact carrier 11.
- Two coding holes 37 are adjacent to this beard section 38 on both sides of the printed circuit board 19, which serve to receive the other coding pins 16 of the contact carrier 11.
- the circuit board 19 Adjacent to the opening 39, the circuit board 19 has a first and a second elongated hole 35A, 35B. These elongated holes 35A and 35B have sections which on the one hand cooperate with a primary fuse 17 and on the other hand with the polarity projections 56 of the reverse polarity fuse 18.
- the slot 35A cooperates on the one hand with the primary fuse 17 and with a polarity protrusion 56.
- the slot 35B cooperates with the primary fuse 17 and with two polarity projections 56 and is accordingly longer than the elongated hole 35A. An incorrect positioning of the connector 10 on the printed circuit board 19 is therefore excluded.
- the primary fuse 17 is for example in the 5 to 7 shown and serves the arrangement of the contact carrier 11 on the circuit board 19.
- the primary fuse 17 is formed by two pairs of locking arms. Each locking arm pair has a first locking arm 44 and a second locking arm 45.
- the locking arms 44, 45 each spring from a locking arm root 52 facing away from the free end, which is arranged on the contact carrier 11.
- the locking arms 44, 45 each have a release cam 53, which are used to move the locking arms 44, 45 back into a release position in order to separate the connector 10 from the printed circuit board 19 when a corresponding pressure is exerted, the release cams being an optional and thus are not a mandatory feature of the locking arms 44, 45.
- the latching arms 44, 45 have latching members 50 and 51 in their free end, which have different latching surfaces 54 and 55.
- the first locking member 50 of the second locking arm 45 is shown.
- the first locking member 50 of the second locking arm 45 forms a locking surface 54 which engages under the printed circuit board 19.
- This latching surface 54 is oriented essentially orthogonally to the plug-in direction of the connector, that is to say approximately parallel to the underside 46 of the printed circuit board 19, as is shown, for example, in FIG Fig. 11 and 13 can be seen.
- the connector 10 is thus secured against a tensile force that can be applied, for example, by the connection conductors, not shown.
- the latching surface 54 of the first latching member 50 enables a holding force of up to 60 Newtons.
- the second locking member 51 of the locking arm 44 is shown.
- the second latching element 51 of the latching arm 44 has a latching surface 55 which, starting from the first latching arm 44, is designed to drop in the plugging direction.
- the latching surface 55 serves to compensate for tolerances between the contact carrier 11 and the circuit board 19.
- the latching arms 44 arranged on the circuit board 19 are, for example, in FIGS Fig. 11 and 13 shown.
- Printed circuit boards 19 with a minimum thickness fully engage under the sloping latching surface 55, so that the surface origin located near the first latching arm 44 provides the connector 10 with support on the printed circuit board 19 in addition to the latching surface 54.
- Printed circuit boards 19 with a maximum thickness only engage under the sloping latching surface 55 with their end facing away from the origin, which provides the connector 10 with support in addition to the latching surface 54.
- a partial engagement under the latching surface 55 takes place.
- the sloping latching surface 55 forms an angle of 20 ° with the underside 46 of the printed circuit board 19 and thus enables tolerance compensation of up to 10% of the nominal thickness of the printed circuit board 19.
- the falling latching surface 55 also helps to anchor the connector 10 on the circuit board 19 at. However, the tensile load that can be compensated for by them is low due to the sloping latching surface 55.
- the latching arms 44, 45 run ahead of the contact carrier 11 and are arranged parallel to one another.
- the connector 10 has two pairs of locking arms, which are arranged on opposite sides of the connector 10.
- the locking members 50 and 51 of the same locking geometry are located diagonally opposite one another on the contact carrier 11.
- Fig. 11 it can be seen that the locking element 51 of the locking arm pair on the left with respect to the paper plane, on the other hand, the locking element 50 is arranged behind.
- the locking arm pair on the right with respect to the paper plane, on the other hand has a locking element 50 located at the front, whereas the locking element 51 is located at the rear. In this way, the aforementioned diagonality is guaranteed.
- the diagonally opposite latching members 50 and 51 of the same configuration with their latching surfaces 54 and 55 prevent the connector 19 from tilting under tensile load and thus equalize the contact point load between the plug contacts 12 and the contact holes 36.
- the secondary lock 26 stored in the unlocked position and viewed from above ( Fig. 10 ) and from below ( Fig. 11 ).
- the unlocked position is indicated here by the groove 30A pointing to the word "release”. Another form of visual display is possible.
- the rib 31 of the head region 28 of the locking pin 27 cooperates with the first notch 25A associated with the term “release”. In this position, the rib 31 and the first notch 25A hold the locking pin 27 in the unlocked position. An independent turning of the locking pin 27 or by vibration is not possible.
- the secondary fuse 26 is only mounted in the straw section 58 of the opening 39 in such a way that the locking catch projections 33 of the catch pin 27 do not engage under the printed circuit board 19.
- the locking pin 27 is shifted into the locking position.
- the rotatably mounted locking pin 27 enables the contact carrier 11 to be clamped to the circuit board 19 by rotating the locking pin 27 from the unlocked position into the locking position when the connector 10 is mounted on the circuit board 19.
- the locking pin 27 is mounted in the locking position in the stem area 58 of the opening 39 such that the locking locking projections 33 of the locking pin 27 the printed circuit board 19 reach under and brace the contact carrier 11 with the printed circuit board 19 due to the thread-section-like configuration of the locking catch projections 33.
- the locking pin 27 can already be in the locking position when it is placed on the printed circuit board 19. Then the locking catch projections 33 run onto the edge of the opening 39.
- the slot 41 arranged vertically in the locking pin 27 enables the locking locking projections 33 of the locking pin 27 to be resiliently displaced when the locking pin 27 is continued, so that they dip through the opening 39 and thus engage under the printed circuit board 19.
- FIG. 15 to 18 A second embodiment of the connector 10 is disclosed.
- this connector 10 has a fuse cover 60.
- the fuse hood 60 surrounds the contact carrier 11 on the outside, the contact carrier 11 being movably arranged in the fuse hood 60.
- the contact carrier 11 has locking pins 61 parallel to the direction of insertion, which lead the contact carrier 11 and position it in the fuse cover 60 in the preassembly position.
- the contact carrier 11 forms latching profiles 63 and latching grooves 66, which lead the contact carrier 11 in the plugging direction and cooperate with latching webs 65 of the fuse hood 60 in accordance with the pre-or assembly position of the contact carrier 11 in the fuse cover 60.
- the contact carrier 11 has latching tabs 62, which originate from the housing 13 on the short sides of the contact carrier 11.
- the latching tabs 62 are resilient and cooperate with latching openings 64, which are formed by the securing hood 60, as shown in FIG Fig. 16 is shown.
- the locking tabs 62 can be moved back by pressure, so that the contact carrier 11 can be detached from the securing hood 60.
- the latching tab 62 forms a latching lug 67, which cooperates with a corresponding latching recess 68, which is formed by the securing hood 60.
- the latching nose 67 interacts with the latching recess 68, as in the sectional illustration in FIG Fig. 17 shown.
- the locking lug 67 dips through the locking recess 68 and thus additionally fastens the contact carrier 11 in the safety hood 60.
- the locking lugs 67 are also moved back, so that the contact carrier 11 can be released from the safety hood 60.
- the primary fuse 17 In contrast to the first embodiment of the connector 10, the primary fuse 17, the reverse polarity protection 18 and the coding pins 16 of the fuse cover 60 do not originate from the contact carrier 11.
- the primary fuse 17 In this second embodiment of the connector 10, the primary fuse 17 has identical locking arm pairs 44 on both sides, which with the locking members 51 are formed. The locking members have the locking surface 55, which serve to compensate for tolerances between the contact carrier 11 and the printed circuit board 19.
- the primary fuse 17 is configured identically to the first embodiment of the connector 10, as for example in FIG Fig. 5 shown.
- the reverse polarity protection 18 can also be designed in accordance with the first embodiment of the connector 10, as is the example of the Fig. 6 can be seen.
- the contact fingers 49 of the plug contacts 12 must be received in the contact openings 36 of the printed circuit board 19 in order to produce electrical contact.
- the contact carrier 11 is positioned in the securing hood 60 by means of locking pins 61, the latching grooves 66 of the contact carrier 11 cooperating with the latching webs 65 of the securing hood 60 in the preassembled position.
- the plug contacts 12 are inserted into the contact recesses 15 of the contact carrier 11. Since the contact carrier 11 and, accordingly, the plug contacts 12 are spaced from the printed circuit board 19 in the preassembly position, electrical contacting of the plug connector 10 with the printed circuit board 19 in the preassembled position of the plug connector 10 is excluded.
- the contact carrier 11 In order to completely assemble the plug connector 10, the contact carrier 11 is moved in the plugging direction and thus shifted into the assembly position.
- the locking webs 66 now engage in the locking profiles 63 of the contact carrier 11 and thus arrange the contact carrier 11 in the fuse cover 60.
- the locking tabs 62 on the Locking openings 64 of the fuse cover 60 firmly.
- the Fig. 17 shows the connector 10 in the preassembly position on the printed circuit board 19.
- the fuse cover 60 of the circuit board 19 is arranged.
- the latching surfaces 55 of the latching arms 44 engage under the circuit board 19 and fix the fuse cover 60 on the circuit board 19.
- the contact carrier 11 is arranged in the pre-assembled position in the fuse cover 60.
- the locking pins 61 of the contact carrier 11 are seated in an upper region A above the locking arms 44.
- the movement space required for relocating the locking arms back is thus free.
- the locking arms 44 can be moved back into the movement space by pressure on the release cams 53 and the safety hood 60 can thus be easily removed from the printed circuit board 19.
