Definitions
- the present invention relates to the field of support frames for modules and in particular of support frames for a connector for receiving similar and / or different modules.
- Holding frames are used to accommodate several similar and / or different modules.
- These modules can be, for example, insulating bodies, which are provided as contact carriers for electronic and electrical and possibly also for optical and / or pneumatic contacts.
- EP 0 860 906 B1 is a support frame for mounting connector modules and for installation in connector housing or for screwing to wall surfaces known, the connector modules are inserted into the support frame and support means on the connector modules with provided on opposite wall parts (side parts) of the support frame recesses cooperate, wherein the recesses as formed on all sides closed openings in the side parts of the holding frame, wherein the holding frame consists of two hingedly interconnected halves, wherein the separation of the holding frame is provided transversely to the side parts of the frame, and wherein joints are arranged in the attachment ends of the holding frame such that at Screwing the support frame on a mounting surface align the frame parts such that the side parts of the support frame are aligned at right angles to the mounting surface and the connector modules on the Halterungsmit tel have a positive connection with the holding frame.
- such holding frames are usually produced in a die-casting process, in particular in a zinc die-casting process.
- the publication EP 2 581 991 A1 discloses a support frame for connector modules, which has two frame halves, which are latched together by linear displacement of a frame half relative to the other frame half in a sliding direction with each other to the frame halves each corresponding locking means are provided, which in linear displacement locking the two frame halves together in two cause different locking positions in which the frame halves are spaced at different distances from each other.
- such mounting frames require a complex operation during assembly.
- such support frame must be unscrewed from the connector and / or unlocked as soon as a single module to be replaced. In this case, possibly fall the other modules whose removal was not desirable, out of the support frame and must then be reinserted before screwing together and / or before locking the frame halves.
- all modules must already be in the position provided for them before assembly of the frame halves, in order to be finally fixed in the mounting frame when joining the frame halves, which complicates the assembly.
- the publication EP 1 801 927 B1 discloses a holding frame, which consists of a one-piece plastic injection molded part.
- the holding frame is formed as a circumferential collar and has on its side plug a plurality of separated by slots wall segments.
- Two opposite wall segments each form an insertion region for a plug-in module, wherein the wall segments have window-like openings, which serve to receive projections formed on the narrow sides of the modules.
- a guide groove is provided in the wall segments.
- the guide groove is formed above the openings by means of an outwardly offset window web, which has an insertion bevel on the inside.
- the plug-in modules have latching arms, which act on the narrow sides in the direction of the cable connections, molded, and latch below the side collar wall, so that two independent latching means fix the connector modules in the support frame.
- a base portion preferably made by diecasting, such as zinc or aluminum or a corresponding alloy
- a deformation portion preferably a stamped by bending resilient sheet
- the base portion and the deformation portion are formed at least partially of different materials in each case.
- such a holding frame allows greater flexibility by means of suitable material combinations.
- the frame portions are each formed by cheek parts, are mounted on the outside of a base frame, wherein the cheek parts in each case in its lower end region has a bending line at which the cheek parts are folded by 180 °, so that a final edge of the respective cheek part within the Base frame is located.
- the base frame has externally mounting pins which engage in an attached cheek part in corresponding mounting recesses.
- One of the present invention underlying object is to provide a support frame, on the one hand as far as possible from the teaching of the document DE 10 2013 113 976 A1 realized connected benefits, on the other hand, however, an increased fixing security and durability of the support frame is achieved.
- a holding frame for a connector for receiving similar and / or different modules is proposed according to a first aspect, as defined in claim 1, namely with a base frame which defines a plane transverse to an insertion direction of a module in the holding frame, and at least two cheek parts mounted opposite to each other on the base frame, each cheek part outside the base frame along an outer side of the base frame in the insertion direction around a lower edge of the base frame inside the base frame along an inside of the base frame opposite to the insertion direction and over an edge of the base frame Base frame extends outward opposite to the insertion direction, wherein each cheek part in its extending beyond the edge of the base frame addition region has at least one latching window as a latching element for receiving a latching lug of the module, wherein the cheek parts for an elast Ie bending deformation between an insertion state, which allows insertion of the module in the insertion direction in the holding frame, and a holding state in which an inserted module is fixed by engagement of the locking lug in the locking window at least
- the inventor has realized that higher stability and better fixation of modules is achieved by arranging the cheek parts so that they extend on the inside of the base frame and from there against the insertion direction of the modules. In a bending of the cheek parts when inserting a module of the turning or bending point is located at the (top) edge of the base frame and no longer on an assembly of mounting pin and recess or even on the previously deformed lower edge. By supporting the cheek part by the base frame when bending the corresponding spring travel is as short as possible.
- the module in the insertion counteracts a lifting of the cheek part of the inside of the base frame by its presence, so that - if provided - on the inside an arrangement comparable to the mounting pin and the corresponding mounting recess from the teaching of the document DE 10 2013 113 976 A1 can be provided without a risk of loosening would be to be feared by the deformation of the cheek parts.
- the base frame can also - as the leadership and holding the respective module is performed by the cheek parts - comparatively (in the insertion) are made shorter.
- the base frame now holds the cheek parts, which in turn hold the modules.
- the recording and fixing of the modules is thus preferably carried out only by acting as spring arms cheek parts, which are arranged for a higher stability and spring force on the inside of the frame, whereby a comparatively shorter spring travel of the cheek parts is achieved, so that the construction by " becomes firmer ".
- the stability is additionally increased.
- the turning and bending point of the material is not in the lower, already plastically deformed area, but in the center of the spring plate.
- this area does not experience material fatigue as fast as the already plastically deformed (bent) area.
- the base frame on the one hand and the cheek parts on the other hand are at least partially formed of different materials. It is not necessary but advantageous if the base frame (completely or at least partially) made of a different material than the cheek parts. However, it is also possible that the base frame (at least substantially) is made of the same material or material as the cheek parts, wherein the cheek parts typically has a smaller cross-section, so that through the base frame with the larger cross section and thus larger Rigidity is given a rigidity and stability of the support frame as a whole, while the cheek parts are resilient.
- the base frame is at least partially made by die casting, in particular of a metal, preferably of zinc or aluminum, or a metal alloy, preferably a zinc or aluminum alloy.
- a metal preferably of zinc or aluminum
- a metal alloy preferably a zinc or aluminum alloy.
- a stamping and bending technique with spring-elastic sheet metal makes it possible to inexpensively produce cheek pieces which can be used in the context of the present invention.
- the formation of the locking window, any slots and any recesses or the like for attachment of the cheek parts on the base frame can be easily create.
- the cheek parts are positively, non-positively and / or materially attached to the inside and / or outside of the base frame, in particular glued, welded, soldered, riveted, locked and / or screwed. Since the force effect on bending of the cheek parts when inserting one or more modules substantially to the over the edge of the base frame is limited projecting portion of the cheek parts and also a partially inserted module itself may already be an undesirable deformation of the cheek parts in the way, the connection between cheek parts and base frame can be chosen substantially freely.
- an attachment by positive engagement in the form of a Verrastens, wherein a part of a cheek part engages in a recess or the like of the base frame and / or engages a projection or the like in a window, a recess or the like of the cheek part.
- a part of the positive connection is already made by the embracing of the cheek part around the lower edge of the base frame, so that it is sufficient if the locking only precludes a displacement of the cheek part relative to the base frame in the insertion direction.
- the advantage of latching is that it minimizes the steps required to assemble it, but at the cost of providing the appropriate geometry.
- the attachment is located on the outside of the base frame.
- each cheek part has at least one slot extending in the insertion direction, which separates at least in a part of extending over the edge region of two tabs of the cheek part, each having at least one locking window as a latching element for receiving the latching lug of the module. It is possible to provide for each module to be introduced a separate pair of cheek parts, each of which has a latching window. Insertion of a module in the holding frame or also a release of a module from the holding frame (which is essentially the inversion of the insertion) can then take place independently of adjacent modules or cheek parts. If a cheek piece is provided with one or more correspondingly sized slots, insertion or removal of the module may also be done individually for each tab separated by an adjacent tab through the slot.
- the slot extends into the region of the cheek part which extends along the inside of the base frame.
- the tabs above the edge of the base frame as far as possible are formed independently of each other.
- the holding frame has at least four cheek parts, two of which are each attached adjacent to one side of the base frame.
- each module may also be provided that on the opposite sides of the base frame or holding frame several cheek parts are present, in which case a cheek part in turn for one and / or more modules is provided.
- At least one cheek part on a guide portion in particular at the end of the cheek part or the latching window, which allows a guide of the module for centering between the opposite cheek parts during insertion of the module and / or on which the locking lug of the Module is guided along during insertion to deform the cheek part in the insertion state.
- the guide portion improves the handling for the user, since the user has to introduce the module to be introduced only between the guide portions or between the guide portion and the opposite cheek part and on further insertion by force in the insertion direction, a widening is effected. The user therefore does not have to take steps to separate the cheek parts separately. The same applies to the case of automated assembly, which can be made simpler.
- each cheek part extending along the inside of the base frame is configured for at least partial abutment with the inserted module for its fixation between the opposing cheek parts.
- each cheek portion extending along the inside of the base frame has a spring portion adapted to abut the inserted module and to apply pressure toward the interior of the base frame. It is also possible that only one of the opposite cheek parts has one or more such spring portions for pressing the inserted module to the opposite cheek part, wherein it is also possible that the cheek parts have alternating or other mixed manner spring sections, in which case preferably per module only one spring section is provided in each case.
- each cheek part extending along the inner side of the base frame is for a continuous abutment on the inserted module in the insertion direction designed. If the sides of the module lie against the cheek parts at least in one section in each case, this already results in a spatial restriction which prevents an undesired offset of the module.
- each cheek part has one or more detent window areas which extend beyond a detent window portion of the edge of the base frame and which have at least one detent window, and one or more detention areas, each around an encompassing portion of the edge extend the base frame around and fix the cheek part positively to the base frame.
- the cheek pieces permit, on the one hand, the insertion and secure retention of modules in the holding frame or frames; while the cheek parts, on the other hand, are securely fastened to the base frame even by a form fit, with this secure positive fixation being achieved by the engagement of mutually opposite edges or edge portions by elements of the cheek parts.
- the Umgriffsab hurdle the edge of the base frame in the insertion direction is further spaced from the lower edge of the base frame as the latching window portion of the edge of the base frame.
- the base frame extends in inserted modules in the areas between the locking lugs of the modules, so that the base frame acts here as an additional guide for the modules when they are introduced.
- the cheek parts bent during insertion of the modules can be freed from fulfilling even guiding functions.
- the rigidity of the base frame protects the flexible parts of the cheek parts from being damaged by a faulty insertion of a module.
- the cheek parts are designed such that the holding frame does not exceed a predetermined total width at least in a region from its lower edge to a predetermined height, in particular to beyond the locking window, even in the insertion state of the cheek parts the predetermined total width is in particular equal to the total width of the holding frame below the latching window.
- the cheek parts are bent outwards, which can be achieved by a suitable and advantageous embodiment of the cheek parts, in particular in the area of the edge of the base frame including, the respective latching window surrounding webs or the like of the cheek parts that even in the insertion state a, for example, by a mounting situation in a mounting housing available free space is not exceeded.
- a mounting of a module in the holding frame is possible even in a built-in state of the holding frame.
- the outer sides of the base frame each have a step, in particular such that the outer surfaces of the outside of the base frame along the outside of the base frame extending cheek parts are aligned with a respective exposed outer surface of the base frame or the outer surfaces of the Outside the base frame along the outside of the base frame extending cheek parts are offset from the respective exposed outer surface of the base frame in the direction of the interior of the base frame.
- the base frame provided with such a step can also be described as having a recess or a recess for receiving the cheek part on the outside.
- the dimensioning of the step is preferably such that the cheek part with the outside of the base frame completes.

- this section of the cheek part 11 it has a latching window 111, to which a guide section 114 connects, which is bent in comparison to the rest of the cheek part 11 to the outside.
- the module 2 has a substantially rectangular shape in cross-section, wherein on the sides of the module two locking lugs 21 are formed.
- the cheek parts 11 are bent outward, whereby the bending of the cheek parts 11 in the region of the edge 104 of the base frame 10 begins, so that only the part of the cheek parts 11 is bent, which extends beyond the edge 104 addition.
- the cheek part 11 between the base frame 10 and the module 2 is spatially determined, so that here no or only a very small bend occurs.
- cheek parts 11 and module 2 also shows that the module 2 is held only by the cheek pieces 11, while the base frame 10 provides stability and rigidity to the frame 1 as a whole by holding the cheek pieces 11 (and thus only indirectly the module 2) gives.
