Ein gattungsmäßiger Palettencontainer ist aus der DE 197 47 690 A1 (Sotra) bekannt, der sich durch eine feuerhemmende Bauweise auszeichnen und eine hinreichende Feuerwiderstandsfähigkeit besitzen soll. Dazu ist bei diesem Palettencontainer zwischen Kunststoff-Innenbehälter und Gitterkäfig eine dünnwandige thermische Isolierung angeordnet, die aus Pappe und Aluminiumfolie besteht. Diese plattenförmige Isolierung soll auch zumindest bei Stahlpaletten zwischen Innenbehälter-Unterboden und Paletten-Oberboden eingesetzt sein. Die dem Kunststoffbehälter zugewandte Seite der Isolierschicht soll aus Pappe und die dem Gitterrahmen zugeordnete Isolierschicht soll aus Aluminium bestehen, wobei die Aluminiumschicht als Hitzeschild und zur Wärmeableitung dienen soll, während die Pappschicht eine Isolierwirkung durch erschwerten Wärmeübergang bewirken soll. Die Isolierschichten aus Pappe und Aluminium können zusätzlich noch zwischen witterungsbeständigen Deckschichten aus Kunststoff, z. B. Polyethylen angeordnet sein.
