On connaît des articles de maquillage comprenant un applicateur et un distributeur de produit de maquillage destiné à déposer un tel produit sur l'applicateur. Classiquement, le distributeur comprend un réservoir de produit de maquillage, dans lequel on trempe l'applicateur qui se charge alors en produit. Toutefois, cette configuration engendre dans la plupart des cas le chargement d'une quantité excessive de produit sur l'applicateur, si bien qu'il est préférable d'ôter le surplus de produit afin d'éviter un gaspillage et de faciliter le maquillage proprement dit. A cet effet, il est connu de munir le réservoir d'un essoreur dont la fonction est d'éliminer le surplus de produit, qui retombe alors en partie dans le réservoir.  Makeup articles are known comprising an applicator and a dispenser of makeup product for depositing such a product on the applicator.
