- a sliding ring is also provided, which can be used as a guide when the liquid is dispensed.
- the EP2227981A1 in turn discloses an applicator bottle having a sieve-shaped application surface, which is in contact with a porous liquid reservoir, so that a controlled, continuous application of a thin liquid medium is also ensured.
- the object of the invention is to provide an improved applicator.
- the basic idea of the invention is the use of a device for dispensing a liquid onto a substrate having a container for the liquid with an open end on a distal side and a closed end on a proximal side, and an applicator head arranged on the open end having an applicator head
- Bottle-like containers are preferably used which are designed in such a way that dispensing of the liquid does not involve permanent deformation of one or more container walls.
- a stiff design of the container walls is conceivable, on the other hand, however, a choice of a material and / or a shape that enables such a restoring force of the container walls that an independent return to the original state usually takes place with a regular deformation of the container walls.
- a plastic is preferably used as the material for the container, preferably a thermoplastic such as, for example, a polypropylene or a polyethylene.
- Different container sizes are also conceivable.
- Containers in the range from 10ml to 1000ml are particularly suitable.
- the agitating body can be a ball, for example made of a metallic material.
- the device is suitable for different purposes for dispensing different liquids.
- the device is particularly preferably used for dispensing pretreatment agents such as primers for the pretreatment of subsoil in the production of adhesive connections and in corrosion protection.
- the feed opening can have any opening geometry and opening area which is particularly suitable for the respective liquid.
- feed openings can also be used. Particularly advantageous is one or more feed openings have been found, whose summed total open area in the range from 4mm 2 to 20mm 2, more preferably in the range of 5 mm 2 is up to 16mm. 2
- it has proven to be particularly advantageous to provide a slot-shaped feed opening which is arranged, for example, around the region of the receptacle.
- the area of the receptacle can be attached to webs or other auxiliary devices, which for example can cover the feed opening in areas. It can also be a plurality of feed openings, the sum of the individual opening areas of the plurality of feed openings preferably being in the range mentioned above.
- the adapter preferably has a filling opening for the liquid from the container, which is opposite the feed openings.
- the diameter of said filling opening is preferably in the range from 10 mm to 20 mm.
- the diameter of the filling opening is preferably selected and the supply openings described above are designed such that the ratio between the opening area of the filling opening and the total opening area of all supply openings is in the range of 4-80.
- the applicator head can have any design. According to the invention, however, the applicator head has at least one protruding holding element with which it is attached to the container or other part of the device by means of a receptacle.
- the holding element is preferably designed in the form of a pin, in particular in the form of a dome, a pin or a style and can in particular have a round, oval, triangular or polygonal cross section, the length of the holding element preferably corresponding to a multiple of the diameter of the holding element.
- the holding element can in particular consist of plastic, wood or metal.
- the holding element is preferably made of stainless steel.
- the holding element is preferably designed from a solid material, that is not hollow. The retaining element has two functions.
- the one hand serves to fix the application agent on the distal side in a fixation function.
- the one on the opposite side is used in an assembly function to fasten the applicator head via said receptacle on the container or on another part of the device.
- a material or force-fit connection technique is particularly suitable for the fixing function.
- an application means suitable for the application can be fixed to one side of the holding element by means of an adhesive. It is also conceivable that the application means can be clamped in by parts of the holding element itself.
- a material-locking, force-locking or form-locking connection technology or a combination of the above are suitable for the assembly function.
- a thread or another assembly area can also be provided, with a corresponding assembly area in turn being provided on the receptacle.
- corresponding shapes of the receiving and holding elements these being designed in such a way that a non-positive connection can be provided between the surfaces that come into contact in the assembled state.
- a releasable connection technology is preferred for the assembly function, the separation being preferred can be done by the user himself without the aid of a tool and can preferably be done without destroying the container or parts of the device.
- the application agent can have any shape that is suitable for the particular application.
- the application means is preferably essentially spherical, with the spherical shape in particular being able to be interrupted and / or displaced by the pin and / or parts of the container or by other parts of the device in the assembled state.
- a device that is particularly easy to manufacture can be created by such a design. It is conceivable, for example, to equip a universal basic device with an applicator head which is equipped with an application means suitable for the respective purpose. This is conceivable, for example, at the factory, as well as on the part of the end user. Cases of use are also conceivable in which a used application head is removed by releasing the connection between the holding element and the receptacle and exchanging it for a new application head.
- the receptacle for the holding element has a receptacle opening for inserting the holding element, the receptacle opening being spatially and functionally separate from the feed opening.
- the liquid is not dispensed from the container via the receiving opening, in particular to prevent the receiving opening from becoming soiled. Rather, the liquid is dispensed only via one or more feed openings.
- the device has a protruding neck on the distal side, the applicator head being arranged such that the application means protrudes from the protruding neck in the direction of the distal side.
- the neck can in particular serve as an extension or extension for the application means.
- the neck can serve, for example, as a guide when dispensing a liquid onto a substrate.
- the neck is designed in such a way that it tapers in the direction of the distal side.
- the neck can be conical or frustoconical.
- the neck has a length in the range from 5 mm to 20 mm. An essentially round cross-section in the range from 10 mm to 20 mm is preferred.
- the neck is particularly preferably conical, with a diameter in the range from 15 mm to 20 mm on the proximal side and a diameter in the range from 10 mm to 15 mm on its opposite distal, free side. Furthermore, it has been found to be particularly advantageous that the neck tapers at an angle in the range of 5 ° -45 ° in the direction of the distal side. The angle is provided between the surface line and in particular the cone axis of the neck.
- the shape of the application means is chosen such that it projects beyond the protruding neck on the distal side on all sides.
- an essentially spherical application means described above is conceivable, the diameter of the spherical shape being greater than the diameter of the neck at least in the adjoining area.
- Another advantage is the equipment of the device with a protruding collar on the distal side below the application means, which has a stop area pointing in the distal direction in order to provide a possibility of guiding when the liquid is being dispensed.
- the user can support the device on the stop area of the collar, for example on a free edge of the substrate to which the liquid is to be applied.
- the collar is preferably used in conjunction with the protruding neck described above. It has turned out to be particularly advantageous if the collar protrudes beyond the neck at least in some areas, but preferably on all sides in the range of 2 mm to 10 mm.
- the outer edge of the collar can be rounded with a radius in the range from 0.5 mm to 3 mm or alternatively have a bevel.
- the applicator head has a large number of fibers as application means, which are fixed by the holding element.
- the applicator head is designed like a brush, and the fibers can be of any nature.
- synthetic fibers made from a plastic material are conceivable, but also natural fibers, in particular made from sheep's or cotton.
- the use of a holding element made of a metallic material can prove to be useful, with one end of the holding element for the fixing function being bent over and / or twisted into one another in particular in such a way that the large number of fibers are fixed.
- the use of fibers made of wool has proven to be particularly advantageous.
- the applicator head can be constructed and assembled according to the principle of a wool wiper known to the person skilled in the art.
- the use of fibers with a single fiber length in the range from 5 mm to 15 mm is particularly advantageous.
- a single fiber length is to be understood as the length of a fiber from the point of fixation on the holding element to its end. Nevertheless, it is conceivable to use fibers which, for example, are fastened in the middle of the holding element, in particular by the above-described fixing function, so that the fibers themselves are longer. In this case, however, the respective free part of the fiber on each side of the fixation also preferably has the above-mentioned single fiber length.
- the fibers are preferably arranged and designed in such a way that they have a spherical shape.
- the use of such an applicator head can also prove to be particularly advantageous because the user can cut individual fibers or a large number of fibers in such a way that a desired shape of the application agent is created, which is particularly suitable for the substrate, for example.
- the fibers are preferably designed in such a way that they contain the solid bodies contained in the liquid or do not filter out and retain active ingredients, but enable them to be transported to the surface to be wetted.
- fibers that are as smooth as possible in order to minimize the removal of material particles from the substrate, that is, chipping.
- an applicator head that has a porous material, in particular one or more foam, felt or fiber bodies as application means, which are attached to the holding element, can also prove to be useful.
- the applicator head can be exchanged.
- the receiving element and the holding element are designed in such a way that the holding element can be removed in order to ensure that the applicator head can be exchanged.
- a releasable connection technology is preferably used for the assembly function described above, whereby the separation can preferably be carried out by the user himself without the aid of a tool and preferably without destroying the container or parts of the device.
- the user can thus exchange used applicator heads for unused ones.
- the equipment of a universal basic device must also be equipped with an applicator head which is equipped with an application medium suitable for the respective purpose.
- an adapter which is arranged at the open end of the container and contains the receptacle and the supply opening, the adapter having a means for conveying the liquid, i.e. a communication option between a cavity of the container and the supply opening for supplying liquid having from the container to the application agent.
- the adapter is preferably made of a plastic material.
- a thermoplastic material is particularly preferably used.
- Polyethylene is particularly suitable here. It is conceivable here to manufacture the adapter by means of an injection molding process.
- the adapter is designed as a separate component that can be mounted on the container at the factory or by the user.
- the adapter can be equipped with one or more mounting sections in order to connect the adapter to a container.
- These assembly sections are preferably designed to be conical at least in some areas and are pushed into an opening of the container at least in some areas in order to mount the adapter on a container.
- the adapter can also have sealing means in order to ensure a tight connection with the container. With such an adapter, any container with an applicator head described above can be used. It is also possible to retrofit existing containers.
- Another basic concept of the present invention is therefore an adapter having a mounting section for mounting on a container and a receptacle for mounting an applicator head with an application means, the adapter providing a means of communication between the cavity of the container and the feed opening for supplying liquid from the container the application means for providing a device described above.
- the adapter preferably has several assembly sections for different containers and in particular different diameters of the openings of different containers.
- provision can be made to equip the assembly section or sections with assembly areas, such as, for example, threads, latching areas, conical sections or the like.
- the adapter has a preferably radially protruding neck on one side, which can be designed as described above and can bring advantages described above.
- the neck tapers in the direction of the distal side.
- the neck can be designed conically.
- the neck has a length in the range from 5 mm to 20 mm.
- An essentially round cross-section in the range from 10 mm to 20 mm is preferred.
- the neck is particularly preferably conical, with a diameter in the range from 15 mm to 20 mm on the proximal side and a diameter in the range from 10 mm to 15 mm on its opposite distal, free side.
- the adapter has a protruding collar.
- the collar can be used in particular as an assembly aid when assembling the adapter on a container.
- the collar can have a stop area described above in order to ensure that the device can be guided as described above.
- the collar is preferably used in conjunction with the protruding neck described above. It has turned out to be particularly advantageous if the collar protrudes beyond the neck at least in some areas, but preferably on all sides in the range of 2 mm to 10 mm.
- FIG. 1 shows a side view of a device 1 according to the invention, which is used as an applicator for a primer solution in the motor vehicle trade.
- the device 1 includes a container 10 made of a plastic material which contains the liquid to be dispensed.
- the container 10 is designed to be rotationally symmetrical in one axis 4 and has on its underside on a proximal side 3 a round base 12 which is designed as a standing base in order to be able to put the device 1 down.
- a jacket surface extends in the direction of an opposite distal side 2 and opens into a shoulder 13, in which the container 10 tapers conically up to a hollow cylindrical, neck-shaped extension 14. At this top, the container 10 is designed to be open.
- An attachment unit 5 consisting of an adapter 30 and an applicator head 20 is mounted on the container 10.
- the outer contour of the adapter 30 is designed to be rotationally symmetrical about the axis 4.
- the adapter has a first assembly section 34, which tapers in the direction of the extension 14 and is conically shaped, and is pushed into an opening of the extension 14 with a covered, second, conical and likewise tapered assembly section. Said inserted assembly section is used here for sealing, for compensating tolerances in the opening and is self-locking.
- the design of the second assembly section provides a press fit with the inner wall of the extension 14, so that a secure connection between the adapter 30 and the container 10 can be made possible.
- a radially protruding collar adjoins the first assembly section 34 32, which has a flat stop area 33 pointing in the direction of the distal side 2 on its upper side.
- the collar 32 serves, on the one hand, for the simple assembly of the adapter 30 on the container 10, in which a user can be provided with a possibility of attack in order to exert force on the adapter 30 when the adapter 30 is inserted and / or screwed into the opening of the container 10.
- the collar 32 can be used, in particular via its stop region 33, as a guide when applying the liquid.
- the stop area 33 ends at a frustoconical neck 31, the imaginary base area of which lies in the plane of the stop area 33.
- the neck 31 is designed to be rotationally symmetrical about the axis 4 and tapers in the distal side 2 up to an imaginary top surface which represents the distal upper side of the adapter 30.
- the applicator head 20 is provided here, which has a large number of wool fibers 21 as application means, which are arranged or configured in a spherical manner, the center of the sphere being on the axis 4.
- the length of the wool fibers 21 is chosen such that the wool fibers 21 on the one hand protrude beyond the protruding neck 31 on the distal side 2, but on the other hand the collar 32 in turn protrudes laterally over the wool fiber 21, i.e. has a lateral overhang with respect to the applicator head 20.
- Figure 1 thus shows a device 1, which is an assembly consisting of a container 10, an adapter 30 and an applicator head 20.

- the first assembly section 34 and the second assembly section 35 can be seen, which differ in their diameters in order to enable an assembly option for different container shapes and / or sizes.
- the collar 32 is round, the radius being selected and coordinated with the neck 31 such that the collar 32 extends radially outward on all sides, preferably in the range of 2 mm to 10 mm from the outer wall of the neck 31 at its base. In the exemplary embodiment shown, the collar 32 projects approximately 6 mm on all sides.
- the neck 31 is designed as a truncated cone, as described, the outer diameter of the neck 31 being approximately 18 mm on its imaginary base area and approximately 12 mm on its imaginary top surface.
- the length of the neck 31 is selected such that the neck 31 tapers at an angle in the range of 5 ° -45 ° in the direction of the distal side 2. The angle is provided between the surface line and the cone axis, ie the axis 4.
- an angle of approximately 12 ° has proven to be practicable.
- a bundle of wool fibers 21 has been fixed in the center of the sphere shown, the wool fibers then being brought into spherical shape. The user can also trim the wool fibers 21 further in order to obtain a desired shape.
- FIG. 8 shows a perspective view of an applicator head 20 of the device 1 from FIG Figure 1 .

The basic idea of the invention is the use of a device for dispensing a liquid onto a substrate having a container for the liquid with an open end on a distal side and a closed end on a proximal side, and an applicator head arranged on the open end having an applicator head Application means attached to the protruding holding element, a receptacle for the holding element being provided in order to provide an attachment option for the applicator head, and a feed opening being provided for supplying liquid from the container to the application means.
So eignen sich insbesondere Behälter im Bereich von 10ml bis 1000ml.Any shape or type can be used as a container. Tubes, bottles, crucibles and all other shapes and types of containers known to the person skilled in the art that are suitable for the respective purpose are conceivable here. Bottle-like containers are preferably used which are designed in such a way that dispensing of the liquid does not involve permanent deformation of one or more container walls. On the one hand, a stiff design of the container walls is conceivable, on the other hand, however, a choice of a material and / or a shape that enables such a restoring force of the container walls that an independent return to the original state usually takes place with a regular deformation of the container walls. A plastic is preferably used as the material for the container, preferably a thermoplastic such as, for example, a polypropylene or a polyethylene. Different container sizes are also conceivable. Containers in the range from 10ml to 1000ml are particularly suitable.
Furthermore, it has proven to be useful to provide a shaking body which is arranged in the container. This can be used to shake up the liquid, as a result of which, for example, various ingredients can be mixed and / or homogenized. In particular, the agitating body can be a ball, for example made of a metallic material.
The device is suitable for different purposes for dispensing different liquids. The device is particularly preferably used for dispensing pretreatment agents such as primers for the pretreatment of subsoil in the production of adhesive connections and in corrosion protection.
The feed opening can have any opening geometry and opening area which is particularly suitable for the respective liquid. Several feed openings can also be used. Particularly advantageous is one or more feed openings have been found, whose summed total open area in the range from 4mm 2 to 20mm 2, more preferably in the range of 5 mm 2 is up to 16mm. 2 In addition, it has proven to be particularly advantageous to provide a slot-shaped feed opening which is arranged, for example, around the region of the receptacle. The area of the receptacle can be attached to webs or other auxiliary devices, which for example can cover the feed opening in areas. It can also be a plurality of feed openings, the sum of the individual opening areas of the plurality of feed openings preferably being in the range mentioned above.
In this case, the adapter preferably has a filling opening for the liquid from the container, which is opposite the feed openings. The diameter of said filling opening is preferably in the range from 10 mm to 20 mm. The diameter of the filling opening is preferably selected and the supply openings described above are designed such that the ratio between the opening area of the filling opening and the total opening area of all supply openings is in the range of 4-80.
The applicator head can have any design. According to the invention, however, the applicator head has at least one protruding holding element with which it is attached to the container or other part of the device by means of a receptacle. The holding element is preferably designed in the form of a pin, in particular in the form of a dome, a pin or a style and can in particular have a round, oval, triangular or polygonal cross section, the length of the holding element preferably corresponding to a multiple of the diameter of the holding element. The holding element can in particular consist of plastic, wood or metal. The holding element is preferably made of stainless steel. The holding element is preferably designed from a solid material, that is not hollow. The retaining element has two functions. On the one hand, it serves to fix the application agent on the distal side in a fixation function. On the other hand, the one on the opposite side is used in an assembly function to fasten the applicator head via said receptacle on the container or on another part of the device. A material or force-fit connection technique is particularly suitable for the fixing function. For example, an application means suitable for the application can be fixed to one side of the holding element by means of an adhesive. It is also conceivable that the application means can be clamped in by parts of the holding element itself. A material-locking, force-locking or form-locking connection technology or a combination of the above are suitable for the assembly function. For example, it is conceivable to provide an adhesive for mounting the holding element in the receptacle. For example, a thread or another assembly area can also be provided, with a corresponding assembly area in turn being provided on the receptacle. It is also conceivable to use corresponding shapes of the receiving and holding elements, these being designed in such a way that a non-positive connection can be provided between the surfaces that come into contact in the assembled state. A releasable connection technology is preferred for the assembly function, the separation being preferred can be done by the user himself without the aid of a tool and can preferably be done without destroying the container or parts of the device.
The application agent can have any shape that is suitable for the particular application. The application means is preferably essentially spherical, with the spherical shape in particular being able to be interrupted and / or displaced by the pin and / or parts of the container or by other parts of the device in the assembled state.
A device that is particularly easy to manufacture can be created by such a design.
In an advantageous development, the receptacle for the holding element has a receptacle opening for inserting the holding element, the receptacle opening being spatially and functionally separate from the feed opening. In this case, the liquid is not dispensed from the container via the receiving opening, in particular to prevent the receiving opening from becoming soiled. Rather, the liquid is dispensed only via one or more feed openings.
According to the invention, the device has a protruding neck on the distal side, the applicator head being arranged such that the application means protrudes from the protruding neck in the direction of the distal side. The neck can in particular serve as an extension or extension for the application means. Here, the neck can serve, for example, as a guide when dispensing a liquid onto a substrate. The neck is designed in such a way that it tapers in the direction of the distal side. In particular, the neck can be conical or frustoconical. In a preferred exemplary embodiment, the neck has a length in the range from 5 mm to 20 mm. An essentially round cross-section in the range from 10 mm to 20 mm is preferred. The neck is particularly preferably conical, with a diameter in the range from 15 mm to 20 mm on the proximal side and a diameter in the range from 10 mm to 15 mm on its opposite distal, free side. Furthermore, it has been found to be particularly advantageous that the neck tapers at an angle in the range of 5 ° -45 ° in the direction of the distal side. The angle is provided between the surface line and in particular the cone axis of the neck.
In an advantageous development, the shape of the application means is chosen such that it projects beyond the protruding neck on the distal side on all sides. For example, an essentially spherical application means described above is conceivable, the diameter of the spherical shape being greater than the diameter of the neck at least in the adjoining area.
Another advantage is the equipment of the device with a protruding collar on the distal side below the application means, which has a stop area pointing in the distal direction in order to provide a possibility of guiding when the liquid is being dispensed. The user can support the device on the stop area of the collar, for example on a free edge of the substrate to which the liquid is to be applied. The collar is preferably used in conjunction with the protruding neck described above. It has turned out to be particularly advantageous if the collar protrudes beyond the neck at least in some areas, but preferably on all sides in the range of 2 mm to 10 mm. In order to simplify sliding along a free edge of the substrate, the outer edge of the collar can be rounded with a radius in the range from 0.5 mm to 3 mm or alternatively have a bevel.
In an advantageous development, the applicator head has a large number of fibers as application means, which are fixed by the holding element. In this case, the applicator head is designed like a brush, and the fibers can be of any nature. In particular, synthetic fibers made from a plastic material are conceivable, but also natural fibers, in particular made from sheep's or cotton. Furthermore, the use of a holding element made of a metallic material can prove to be useful, with one end of the holding element for the fixing function being bent over and / or twisted into one another in particular in such a way that the large number of fibers are fixed. The use of fibers made of wool has proven to be particularly advantageous. The applicator head can be constructed and assembled according to the principle of a wool wiper known to the person skilled in the art. The use of fibers with a single fiber length in the range from 5 mm to 15 mm is particularly advantageous. A single fiber length is to be understood as the length of a fiber from the point of fixation on the holding element to its end. The fibers are preferably arranged and designed in such a way that they have a spherical shape. The use of such an applicator head can also prove to be particularly advantageous because the user can cut individual fibers or a large number of fibers in such a way that a desired shape of the application agent is created, which is particularly suitable for the substrate, for example. In all cases, the fibers are preferably designed in such a way that they contain the solid bodies contained in the liquid or do not filter out and retain active ingredients, but enable them to be transported to the surface to be wetted. Furthermore, it has been found to be advantageous to use fibers that are as smooth as possible in order to minimize the removal of material particles from the substrate, that is, chipping.
As an alternative to this, however, the use of an applicator head that has a porous material, in particular one or more foam, felt or fiber bodies as application means, which are attached to the holding element, can also prove to be useful.
Another advantage is that the applicator head can be exchanged. In particular, the receiving element and the holding element are designed in such a way that the holding element can be removed in order to ensure that the applicator head can be exchanged. For example, a releasable connection technology is preferably used for the assembly function described above, whereby the separation can preferably be carried out by the user himself without the aid of a tool and preferably without destroying the container or parts of the device. In particular, the user can thus exchange used applicator heads for unused ones. The equipment of a universal basic device must also be equipped with an applicator head which is equipped with an application medium suitable for the respective purpose.
Another advantage is the use of an adapter which is arranged at the open end of the container and contains the receptacle and the supply opening, the adapter having a means for conveying the liquid, i.e. a communication option between a cavity of the container and the supply opening for supplying liquid having from the container to the application agent. The adapter is preferably made of a plastic material. A thermoplastic material is particularly preferably used. Polyethylene is particularly suitable here. It is conceivable here to manufacture the adapter by means of an injection molding process.
The adapter is designed as a separate component that can be mounted on the container at the factory or by the user. For this purpose, the adapter can be equipped with one or more mounting sections in order to connect the adapter to a container. These assembly sections are preferably designed to be conical at least in some areas and are pushed into an opening of the container at least in some areas in order to mount the adapter on a container. The adapter can also have sealing means in order to ensure a tight connection with the container. With such an adapter, any container with an applicator head described above can be used. It is also possible to retrofit existing containers.
Another basic concept of the present invention is therefore an adapter having a mounting section for mounting on a container and a receptacle for mounting an applicator head with an application means, the adapter providing a means of communication between the cavity of the container and the feed opening for supplying liquid from the container the application means for providing a device described above.
The adapter preferably has several assembly sections for different containers and in particular different diameters of the openings of different containers. In addition, provision can be made to equip the assembly section or sections with assembly areas, such as, for example, threads, latching areas, conical sections or the like.
In an advantageous development, the adapter has a preferably radially protruding neck on one side, which can be designed as described above and can bring advantages described above. According to the invention, the neck tapers in the direction of the distal side. In particular, the neck can be designed conically.
In an advantageous development, the adapter has a protruding collar. The collar can be used in particular as an assembly aid when assembling the adapter on a container. In addition, the collar can have a stop area described above in order to ensure that the device can be guided as described above. The collar is preferably used in conjunction with the protruding neck described above. It has turned out to be particularly advantageous if the collar protrudes beyond the neck at least in some areas, but preferably on all sides in the range of 2 mm to 10 mm.
Another basic idea is the provision of an assembly consisting of a container, an adapter and an application head. The design variants and advantages described above are intended to supplement the disclosure of the individual components of the assembly.

The outer contour of the
Furthermore, the

Die Zuführung 43 mündet schließlich an der distalen Seite in den Zuführöffnungen 44.Said means for conveying the liquid 18 are described below: The liquid reaches said
The diameter of the filling
