Description

The invention relates to a reusable piece of furniture, which is thus to serve not only the purpose of a particular piece of furniture, but at least one further purpose of a normally different piece of furniture, depending on the orientation of the piece of furniture to the ground at its installation. Furthermore, at least two such pieces of furniture in at least two different configurations should be composable to each other to be adapted in each configuration for a particular purpose. This is intended to accommodate different requirements for the piece of furniture or assembled piece of furniture in a space-saving and economical manner.

The prior art includes a multi-purpose home furniture, which should be suitable to provide a system solution for growing and combination furniture, starting from a basic element ( DD 96395A1 ). The multi-purpose furniture consists of cube-shaped basic elements, each having three U-shaped side walls of a cube, in which an inner surface perpendicular to the three side walls is mounted so that it spatially divides the cube in the space in the ratio 1/3 to 2/3. An element of this multi-purpose furniture can be used as a child seat in two different seat heights, as a stool for adults and as a side table. Furthermore, several elements can be placed in different positions one above the other or next to each other, so that it can be used to make extension walls, room dividers, table-seat combinations. The cube-shaped basic element has no special Means for aligning and connecting at least two basic elements.

A known module for a furniture and shelving system consists of wall elements, which each have the shape of a straight cylinder with a base, with a top surface and six lateral surfaces. The object mentioned above is achieved with a basic shape of a plate consisting of universal furniture piece according to the invention by the formation of the piece of furniture with the features of claim 1.

Thus, the piece of furniture from which the invention is based comprises four substantially square plates, of which a first vertical side plate and a second vertical side plate are spaced parallel to one another, a third plate disposed between an edge of the first side plate and one to the latter arranged parallel edge of the second side plate to the first side plate and the second side plate at right angles and connecting the first side plate and the second side plate to a substantially U-shaped piece of furniture. In this piece of furniture, an intermediate plate between the first side plate and the second side plate is perpendicular to these and firmly inserted to the third plate. The universal piece of furniture according to the invention is configured in a basic form such that the first side plate and the second side plate each have at their four corner regions recesses and / or projections. The projections may serve as feet on the basic shape and on a composite shape of the piece of furniture. When assembling a piece of furniture from at least two pieces of furniture of the basic shape, the recesses and projections facilitate accurate alignment of the individual pieces of furniture of the basic form, in which the recesses receive the similarly shaped projections and secure against unintentional, substantially horizontal displacement.

The recesses in the corner portions of the side plates are substantially elongated rectangularly recessed in the edges of the side plates, and the protrusions in the corner portions project rectangularly out of the edges. At each one of the corner regions, the recesses and / or projections extend at right angles to each other substantially in the plane of the side plates. Accordingly, the recesses and / or projections are at a maximum distance from each other, so that when the furniture is set up, it rests securely on its projections. Claims (11)

1. A multipurpose piece of furniture (1, 2),
