Definitions
- the invention relates to a vehicle lighting device using a multi-source optical lens.
- Lighting devices intended to be mounted in vehicle headlights exist and have already been the subject of patents.
- Each assembly comprises a light source which is mounted on a substrate supplying current to said source, and a lens associated with said source. All the light emitted by this light source is transmitted to an output diopter of the lens, via a conduit, the cross section of which increases progressively from said source to said output diopter.
- the output diopter has a D shape and allows the light beams from the light source to be transmitted in the same direction.
- the lighting device described in this document is therefore modular, since it can be made up of a variable number of unit assemblies, depending on the lighting needs encountered. Such a device nevertheless has the drawback of using several unit assemblies and therefore several separate lenses, requiring a certain mounting complexity, and generating additional costs associated with the manufacture of several lenses.
- a lighting device has the character of modularity, through the use of several light sources, while overcoming the drawbacks noted in the state of the art.
- the first subject of the invention is a part made of transparent material according to claim 1.
- this piece of transparent material is intended for use in a lighting device, in combination with light sources placed at the level of the input surfaces, so as to obtain a resulting light beam coming from the output surfaces, without no stray light interference.
- the means for separating the room thus make it possible to divide said room into several distinct portions, constituting separate lighting sources, having no light interaction between them.
- this part may include a variable number of elementary portions, each having their specific structural and optical characteristics.
- each entry surface is planar and each exit surface is curved.
- the exit surfaces of the elementary portions are contiguous, so as to form a resulting exit surface of the part, which is continuous.
- each exit surface is focused at the level of the entrance surface of the same portion, means that there is a point or a horizontal segment in the vicinity of the entrance surface such that a majority of the rays coming from this point or from the points of the line emerge from the exit surface while being parallel to the same plane.
- the means are constituted by walls originating at the level of each inlet surface and extending towards the corresponding outlet surface. These walls are arranged to reflect the light beams coming from the input surfaces, and not to transmit them to the output surfaces of the adjacent elementary portions.
- each wall extends towards an edge delimiting the exit surface.
- the elementary portions are aligned, the two inlet surfaces of the two elementary end portions being bordered by a single wall, and the inlet surfaces of the other elementary portions each being bordered by two walls.
- each of the two elementary end portions has a single wall to prevent the beams coming from its inlet surface from passing through the outlet surface of the single adjacent elementary portion.
- the other elementary portions being framed by two adjacent elementary portions therefore need two walls to prevent the beams coming from their inlet surfaces, from passing through the outlet surface of said two adjacent elementary portions.
- each wall has a curved profile.
- the walls are not strictly flat. This is a curvature of low amplitude, not influencing the direction of overall expansion of said wall.
- the part has several hollows each delimited by a wall of an elementary portion and a wall of the adjacent elementary portion.
- said part has an optimized geometry so that its weight and size are as small as possible.
- each hollow has a rounded bottom.
- the two walls of the two adjacent elementary portions defining a hollow meet by means of a curved segment.
- the walls are aluminized.
- each of said walls can effectively reflect the light beams coming from the entrance surface to make them converge towards the exit surface of the same elementary portion.
- the part is made of a material to be chosen from among glass, polycarbonate and PMMA ( standing for Polymethyl de Methacrylate).
- the exit surface and the entrance surface of the same portion are opposite each other.
- each exit surface is convex with respect to the outside of the part.
- the overall exit surface is convex with respect to the outside of the part.
- the second object of the invention is a light module, comprising a part made of transparent material in accordance with the invention, a substrate and at least three light sources implanted in said substrate, said sources illuminating the input surfaces of three adjacent elementary portions, the beams coming from an entrance surface being able to pass only through the exit surface of the same elementary portion, the separation means preventing said beams from passing through the exit surface of the adjacent elementary portion.
- a light module makes it possible to emit a resulting light beam, coming from the output surfaces, having several components each coming from an elementary portion of the part made of transparent material, said beam being devoid of any parasitic signal due. to light interference between said elementary portions.
- This module can for example be installed in a vehicle headlight to obtain code type lighting, or daytime signaling of said vehicle. Said module can also be installed in the passenger compartment of a vehicle to provide a less intense lighting function, for the attention of the passengers.
- each light source is constituted by a light emitting diode.
- a light emitting diode offers a good quality of light beam, while remaining of a reduced size. It is therefore perfectly suited to a light module according to the invention, the dimensions of which must be limited in order to be able to be, for example, incorporated into a motor vehicle.
- the substrate has a surface for implantation of light sources, said surface having a central projection, so that the light sources placed at the level of the end zones of said surface are found set back from those placed on said surface. advanced by relative to the direction of emission of light by said sources.
- each light source placed at an entry surface of an elementary end portion is found further from the exit surface of the same elementary portion, than are the light sources placed at the level. input surfaces of the elementary portions intermediate with respect to their corresponding output surfaces.
- the end light sources will be able to provide intense illumination focusing on the range, while the intermediate light sources will provide spread illumination focusing on the width.
- said module has two light sources each placed in an end zone of the implantation surface of the substrate, and three light sources placed at the level of the projection. , said five sources being aligned in front view and emitting light in the same direction.
- the two end light sources would be designed to provide intense illumination focusing on the range, and the three intermediate light sources would provide illumination having a large width.
- the light sources are LEDs comprising at least one photoemissive element, at least one light source whose edges of the photoemissive element have, in front view, an orientation different from those of another LED.
- the implantation surface of the substrate has a recess suitable for receiving an electronic card.
- This card will be used to supply the light sources of the module with electric current.
- the electronic card is provided with an electrical connector.
- a light module according to the invention comprises a radiator for cooling the light sources.
- the radiator comprises the substrate.
- the radiator forms a single piece.
- the radiator is made of metal.
- the third subject of the invention is a vehicle lighting device comprising at least one light module in accordance with the invention.
- the rays emitted by the module at the output of the overall output surface of the module form a portion or all of a beam of road lighting, signaling, or passenger compartment lighting.
- the luminous device can be devoid of lens, reflector or mask after the overall exit surface.
- a light module according to the invention has the advantage of using a single piece of transparent material, and intended to be used with several light sources, to fulfill a specific lighting or signaling function. Since the transparent part has a compact geometry, said module has the advantage of being compact. It also has the advantage of generating moderate costs, avoiding having to machine several lenses, each dedicated to a particular lighting and / or signaling function. It also has the advantage of being able to produce a great variability of light beams according to the number and the location of the associated light sources, to meet different lighting needs and requirements. Finally, a light module according to the invention has the advantage of being particularly suitable for a motor vehicle, in which the light beams are necessary, whether at the headlamps to ensure a lighting function of the vehicle. road or signaling, or at the level of the passenger compartment to provide lighting for the attention of passengers.
- a light module 1 according to the invention comprises a radiator 2 connected to a substrate 3, an electronic card 4 provided with an electrical connector 5, five light-emitting diodes 6 which will be called LEDs for the remainder of the description, a part 7 in transparent material according to the invention and a housing 8 for protection and maintenance, able to come to grip said transparent part 7.
- the box 8 is fixed to the substrate 3 by means of a first series of screws 9.
- the electronic card 4 is anchored in the substrate 3 by means of a second series of screws 10.
- Such a module 1 is intended to be fixed. , for example, inside a vehicle headlight.
- the part 7 made of transparent material according to the invention is solid and is made of PVC (polyvinyl chloride), and acts as an optical lens.
- This part schematically comprises two side tabs 11, 12 and a central body 13 located between said tabs 11, 12 and in a position offset relative to them.
- Said body 13 is bordered by two end arms 14, 15, each connected to a tab 11, 12, each of said arms 14, 15 extending in a direction which is perpendicular to that of the tab 11, 12 to which it is connected.
- the two legs 11, 12 are strictly aligned, so that the transparent part 7 can bear against a flat surface, by means of these tabs 11, 12.
- the body 13 of this part 7 is divided into five elementary portions 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, each characterized by a solid surface inlet 21, 22, 23, 24, 25 and by an outlet surface 26, 27, 28, 29, 30. These five portions 16, 17, 18, 19, 20 are substantially aligned in the same direction, which is that according to which the two legs 11, 12 are connected.
- This transparent part 7 thus has two elementary end portions 16, 17, materialized by the two end arms 14, 15, and three intermediate elementary portions 18, 19, 20 positioned between said end portions 16, 17 .
- the five exit surfaces 26, 27, 28, 29, 30 are contiguous, to form an overall exit surface of said part 7, which is continuous.
- These five outlet surfaces 26, 27, 28, 29, 30 constitute the most advanced part of the body 13 with respect to the two lateral legs 11, 12.
- the five inlet surfaces 21, 22, 23, 24, 25 are separated.
- Each portion 16, 17, 18, 19, 20 is elongated, the inlet surface 21, 22, 23, 24, 25 and the surface of outlet 26, 27, 28, 29, 30 constituting the two ends of each of said portions 16, 17, 18, 19, 20 along their longitudinal axis.
- the three intermediate elementary portions 18, 19, 20 each have two walls 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36 originating at the level of the entry surface 23, 24, 25 and extending towards two edges delimiting the surface. output 28, 29, 30 of the same portion 18, 19, 20.
- These walls 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36 which can for example be aluminized, are intended to prevent the beams produced by a light source placed at an entrance surface 23, 24, 25 of a portion 18, 19, 20, to pass through the exit surface of an adjacent portion.
- the two end elementary portions 16, 17 have only one wall 37, 38 intended to prevent a light source placed at the level of the entrance surface 21, 22, of one of them, from irradiating. an exit surface of an adjacent elementary portion, since each of said end portions 16, 17 has only one adjacent elementary portion.
- the walls 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36, 37, 38 of two elementary portions 16, 17, 18, 19, 20 are joined together by means of a curved wall segment.
- the transparent part 7 thus presents a series of four hollows 39, 40, 41, 42 aligned alternately with the five elementary portions 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, each hollow being thus delimited by a wall of an elementary portion and by a wall of 'an adjacent elementary portion.
- the two entry surfaces 21, 22 of the two elementary end portions 16, 17 are set back from the entry surfaces 23, 24, 25 of the three intermediate elementary portions 18, 19, 20.
- the inlet surfaces 21, 22, 23, 24, 25 are parallel and the outlet surfaces 26, 27, 28, 29, 30 are rounded in shape.
- the transparent part 7 is not rectilinear.
- the side legs 11, 12 are parallel and are interconnected by the body 13, which is materialized by a rectilinear segment and inclined relative to the two legs 11, 12, at an angle of less than 10 °.
- this part 7 includes a right side (DR) and a left side (GA).
- the radiator 2 and the substrate 3 constitute a single piece of metal.
- the substrate 3 can be likened to a thin plate having an implantation face 43 provided with a recess 44 whose contour is similar to that of the electronic card 4, said recess 44 being intended to receive said card 4.
- This face 43 has a central protuberance 45 partially bordering the recess 44 and contributing to partially enlarging the edge surrounding said recess 44.
- the five LEDs 6 are secured to the face 43 of the substrate 3, which is provided with the recess 44, at an area outside said recess 44.
- the five LEDs 6 are arranged along the edge delimiting the recess 44, three LEDs 6 being placed on the protuberance 45 and the two other LEDs 6 being placed at the level of the face 43 of the substrate 3 located at a lower altitude than that of said protuberance 45. In this way, two end LEDs 6 frame three intermediate LEDs 6, raised.
- Each LED 6 has an element photoemissive similar to a square object and having a low thickness.
- the five LEDs 6 are turned differently compared to the forward direction, that is to say the direction of emission of the module. In other words, when viewed from the front, these LEDs have different orientations. For example in projection onto a projection plane located in front of the LEDs and perpendicular to the optical or main emission axis of the light module, these LEDs have different orientations within said projection plane. Thus, two LEDs can be arranged so that the edges of their photoemissive elements have, in front view, a different orientation. These edges may, in front view, form an angle of 45 ° with each other. These five LEDs 6 are arranged to emit a light beam in the same direction.
- the transparent part 7 is fixed on the substrate 3 so that each of the five LEDs 6 secured to said substrate 3, comes to be positioned at an entrance surface 21, 22, 23, 24, 25 of said part 7. More precisely, the LEDs 6 are found outside the elementary portions 16, 17, 18, 19, 20 of the part 7, so that each LED 6 can send light beams towards the inlet surface 21, 22, 23, 24, 25 with which it is associated, said beams passing through said inlet surface 21, 22, 23, 24, 25 and then passing through the outlet surface 26, 27, 28, 29, 30 of the same portion.
- the light beams coming from each input surface 21, 22, 23, 24, 25 can either directly reach the corresponding output surface 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, or be reflected beforehand on the walls 31 , 32, 33, 34, 35, 36, 37, 38 before arriving on said exit surface 26, 27, 28, 29, 30.
- the walls 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36, 37, 38 prevent the light beams emitted by an LED 6 placed at an elementary portion 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, from reaching the exit surface 26, 27, 28, 29, 30 of a portion adjacent elementary 16, 17, 18, 19, 20.
- the elementary portions 16, 17, 18, 19, 20 act separately and autonomously, with the aim of obtaining a resulting light beam, without parasitic interference.
- the housing 8 is screwed onto said substrate 3 by partially covering said transparent part 7.
- the figures 5A to 9B illustrate an example of use of a light module 1 according to the invention, by breaking down the resulting light beam, into several components each coming from an elementary portion 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, of said module 1 associated with the Corresponding LED 6.
- the elementary end portion 16 located to the left of the module 1 and associated with the corresponding end LED 6, can be used to produce left range lighting. This lighting is rather concentrated and intense.
- the left intermediate elementary portion 18, associated with the corresponding LED 6, can be used to produce lighting extended horizontally to the left. This lighting is rather weak and spread out transversely to the vehicle.
- the central intermediate elementary portion 19, associated with the corresponding LED 6, can be used to produce illumination extended horizontally as much to the right as to the left. This lighting is rather weak and spread out transversely to the vehicle.
- the left intermediate elementary portion 20, associated with the corresponding LED 6, can be used to produce lighting extended horizontally towards the left. This lighting is rather weak and spread out transversely to the vehicle.
- the elementary end portion 17 located to the left of the module 1 and associated with the corresponding end LED 6, can be used to produce a left range lighting, inclined at an angle of 15 ° to a horizontal axis. This lighting is rather concentrated and intense.
- a light module 1 is capable of producing a resulting light beam, which is sharp and precise, because devoid of any parasitic light beams due to light interference between the different elementary portions 16, 17, 18, 19, 20 of said module 1.
- LEDs all bear the same reference in the description, in this case the number 6, they can naturally have different structural, geometric and light characteristics within the same light module 1, said LEDs 6 being chosen according to specific lighting needs.

A lighting device according to the invention has the character of modularity, through the use of several light sources, while overcoming the drawbacks noted in the state of the art.
The first subject of the invention is a part made of transparent material according to
In this way, this piece of transparent material is intended for use in a lighting device, in combination with light sources placed at the level of the input surfaces, so as to obtain a resulting light beam coming from the output surfaces, without no stray light interference. In other words, the means for separating the room thus make it possible to divide said room into several distinct portions, constituting separate lighting sources, having no light interaction between them. Depending on the lighting needs encountered, this part may include a variable number of elementary portions, each having their specific structural and optical characteristics. Advantageously, each entry surface is planar and each exit surface is curved. According to the invention, the exit surfaces of the elementary portions are contiguous, so as to form a resulting exit surface of the part, which is continuous.
According to one embodiment of the invention, the fact that each exit surface is focused at the level of the entrance surface of the same portion, means that there is a point or a horizontal segment in the vicinity of the entrance surface such that a majority of the rays coming from this point or from the points of the line emerge from the exit surface while being parallel to the same plane.
According to the invention, the means are constituted by walls originating at the level of each inlet surface and extending towards the corresponding outlet surface. These walls are arranged to reflect the light beams coming from the input surfaces, and not to transmit them to the output surfaces of the adjacent elementary portions.
Advantageously, each wall extends towards an edge delimiting the exit surface.
According to the invention, the elementary portions are aligned, the two inlet surfaces of the two elementary end portions being bordered by a single wall, and the inlet surfaces of the other elementary portions each being bordered by two walls. In fact, each of the two elementary end portions has a single wall to prevent the beams coming from its inlet surface from passing through the outlet surface of the single adjacent elementary portion. The other elementary portions being framed by two adjacent elementary portions, therefore need two walls to prevent the beams coming from their inlet surfaces, from passing through the outlet surface of said two adjacent elementary portions.
Preferably, each wall has a curved profile. Indeed, the walls are not strictly flat. This is a curvature of low amplitude, not influencing the direction of overall expansion of said wall.
Advantageously, the part has several hollows each delimited by a wall of an elementary portion and a wall of the adjacent elementary portion. In this way, said part has an optimized geometry so that its weight and size are as small as possible.
Advantageously, each hollow has a rounded bottom. In other words, the two walls of the two adjacent elementary portions defining a hollow, meet by means of a curved segment.
Preferably, the walls are aluminized. In this way, each of said walls can effectively reflect the light beams coming from the entrance surface to make them converge towards the exit surface of the same elementary portion.
Preferably, the part is made of a material to be chosen from among glass, polycarbonate and PMMA ( standing for Polymethyl de Methacrylate).
Advantageously, the exit surface and the entrance surface of the same portion are opposite each other.
Advantageously, each exit surface is convex with respect to the outside of the part.
Preferably, the overall exit surface is convex with respect to the outside of the part.
The second object of the invention is a light module, comprising a part made of transparent material in accordance with the invention, a substrate and at least three light sources implanted in said substrate, said sources illuminating the input surfaces of three adjacent elementary portions, the beams coming from an entrance surface being able to pass only through the exit surface of the same elementary portion, the separation means preventing said beams from passing through the exit surface of the adjacent elementary portion. In this way, such a light module makes it possible to emit a resulting light beam, coming from the output surfaces, having several components each coming from an elementary portion of the part made of transparent material, said beam being devoid of any parasitic signal due. to light interference between said elementary portions. This module can for example be installed in a vehicle headlight to obtain code type lighting, or daytime signaling of said vehicle. Said module can also be installed in the passenger compartment of a vehicle to provide a less intense lighting function, for the attention of the passengers.
Advantageously, each light source is constituted by a light emitting diode. Such a diode offers a good quality of light beam, while remaining of a reduced size. It is therefore perfectly suited to a light module according to the invention, the dimensions of which must be limited in order to be able to be, for example, incorporated into a motor vehicle.
Preferably, the substrate has a surface for implantation of light sources, said surface having a central projection, so that the light sources placed at the level of the end zones of said surface are found set back from those placed on said surface. advanced by relative to the direction of emission of light by said sources. In other words, each light source placed at an entry surface of an elementary end portion, is found further from the exit surface of the same elementary portion, than are the light sources placed at the level. input surfaces of the elementary portions intermediate with respect to their corresponding output surfaces. In this way, on a motor vehicle, the end light sources will be able to provide intense illumination focusing on the range, while the intermediate light sources will provide spread illumination focusing on the width.
According to a preferred embodiment of a light module according to the invention, said module has two light sources each placed in an end zone of the implantation surface of the substrate, and three light sources placed at the level of the projection. , said five sources being aligned in front view and emitting light in the same direction. In this way, if the module were implanted in a vehicle headlight, the two end light sources would be designed to provide intense illumination focusing on the range, and the three intermediate light sources would provide illumination having a large width.
Advantageously, the implantation surface of the substrate has a recess suitable for receiving an electronic card. This card will be used to supply the light sources of the module with electric current.
Advantageously, the electronic card is provided with an electrical connector.
Advantageously, a light module according to the invention comprises a radiator for cooling the light sources.
Preferably, the radiator comprises the substrate.
Préférentiellement, le radiateur forme une pièce monobloc. Avantageusement, le radiateur est en métal.Preferably, the radiator forms a single piece. Advantageously, the radiator is made of metal.
The third subject of the invention is a vehicle lighting device comprising at least one light module in accordance with the invention.
- a box intended to be fixed on a vehicle,
- a glass for closing said housing,
Preferably, the rays emitted by the module at the output of the overall output surface of the module form a portion or all of a beam of road lighting, signaling, or passenger compartment lighting. In this way, there is no need to put another optical deflection element or a cover. In other words, the luminous device can be devoid of lens, reflector or mask after the overall exit surface.
A light module according to the invention has the advantage of using a single piece of transparent material, and intended to be used with several light sources, to fulfill a specific lighting or signaling function.
