It must be noted that the columbarium comprises various structural designs, which integrate a set of alcoves that are open at the front, which constitute funeral urns, which in turn integrate front doors providing access to these alcoves.
- Funeral urns that comprise a number of vases, inside which the ashes of the deceased are kept, are currently known, the opening of the vase being closed by means of a cover.
- Niche-type columbaria located on a vertical wall are also known, on the front face of which there are horizontal rows of doors that close the entrance to the niches, in such a way that these doors are sealed hermetically, once the remains of the deceased have been deposited inside the inner space of the niche.
- The columbarium that constitutes the object of the invention comprises inner spaces intended to host the ashes of the deceased, these spaces comprising a number of alcoves that are open at the front, which are delimited by intersecting vertical and horizontal profiles, which, when combined with a number of bases, form part of a columbarium structure provided with a lower portion positioned underground by way of foundations.
- The entrances to the alcoves are closed by front doors attached by means selected from a hinge and a linear guide device.
- The intersecting vertical and horizontal profiles, as well as the bases, are made of weathering steel, whereas the front doors comprise a flat plate made of a material selected from weathering steel material and phenolic material, as well as a laminar glass body glued by means of an outdoor glass adhesive material on the outer face of the flat plate.
- In one embodiment, the columbarium has a structure designed in the shape of a cypress.
- In another embodiment, the columbarium comprises a modular structure formed by at least one arched prismatic body with end extensions by way of legs, which are the extension of some flanks of said arched prismatic body.
- The end extensions extend downwards underground as the constitutive lower portions of the columbarium foundations.
- Each front door integrates a lock that ensures the closure thereof.
- The linear guide device of the front doors comprises female profiles attached to the side of the corresponding alcove and male profiles slindingly coupled to said female profiles, wherein the male profiles are attached to two parallel edges of a flank, which forms integral part of the front door model that incorporates the linear guide device, so that the flank is positioned on a parallel plane, near the side of the respective alcove.
- In one embodiment, both the flank and the front door are made of weathering steel material, although the male and female guide profiles are made of stainless steel material so as to avoid blockages over time, which may even be casued by the rusting of the weathering steel itself.
- The female profile comprises a C-shaped section, whereas the male profile comprises a circular section.
- The two front door models, i.e the one with a hinged attachment and the one with a linear guide device attachment, are provided with a puller, which may also be used as a flower vase. This puller is attached to the respective front door by means of a brass plate glued to the laminar glass body by means of an adhesive. One embodiment of this puller comprises a container with a cylindrical design.
