Definitions
- the present invention relates to a filter element for an extractor hood and an extractor hood.
- filter elements In the case of extractor hoods, it is known to use at least one filter element by means of which impurities from vapors, in particular fat and liquid particles, are separated and thus separated from the air flow.
- filter elements which are also referred to as grease filters, usually have a permanently mounted structure.
- expanded metal filter elements are known. Several layers of expanded metal are held in a frame.
- so-called eddy current filters are known in which several profiles are held in a frame and thus lead to turbulence in the air passing through the profiles.
- a disadvantage of the known filter elements is that they each represent a structural unit that is difficult to clean for the user of the extractor hood and therefore the degree of separation that can be achieved with the filter element decreases over time.
- some of these filter elements have a complex structure and their manufacture and cleaning is therefore time-consuming.
- WO 2009/106804 A2 describes a grease filter and a suction device with such a filter.
- the filter is formed from a first frame and a second frame, a first set of baffles being mounted in the first frame and a second set of baffles being mounted in the second frame.
- Handles are provided on the outer frame of the filter and extend forwardly from the front of the filter.
- EP 0 438 676 A1 discloses an apparatus for separating fluids.
- the device consists of two surface elements arranged at a distance from one another.
- the surface elements are folded on two opposite long sides and provided there with a hinge and a lock.
- the surface elements can also be connected to one another via a threaded socket and a screw.
- US 2009/0194093 A1 discloses a grease filter consisting of an upper and a lower profile arrangement. Each of these arrangements consists of a frame and a number of individual profiles. On the frame of the lower profile arrangement, handles are provided which can be pivoted relative to the underside of the lower profile arrangement.
- WO 2009/024257 A2 describes a filter having a first element with a first surface, at least a first, at least a second and at least a third opening. A first sidewall may extend substantially normal from the surface.
- the filter includes a second element that is releasably connected to the first element.
- the second member includes a second surface, at least one second opening, and a side wall adjacent to the first side wall.
- the first element and the second element are connected via a locking mechanism.
- a key part comprising a handle end 46 comprises a pin end with locking pins and a keyhole. The key part can be connected to the first element and the keyhole can be provided in the second element.
- the object of the present invention is therefore to create a filter element and an extractor hood which, with a simple structure, enable a reliably high degree of separation over a long period of time, in that the filter element can be cleaned in a simple manner.
- the invention is based on the knowledge that this object can be achieved in that the filter element can be at least partially dismantled, that is to say taken apart, in a simple manner by the user.
- the invention therefore relates to a filter element for an extractor hood for separating impurities from fumes.
- the filter element has an at least partially air-permeable filter body.
- the filter element is characterized in that the filter body consists of the filter element a first filter part with a flat base and a second filter part with a flat base, that the filter parts are detachably connected to each other, that at least one slot is made in the base of the filter parts, that each slot in the first filter part corresponds to each slot in the second filter part is arranged offset that the filter element comprises a handle, by means of which the filter element can be introduced into a suction opening of an extractor hood and removed from it, that the handle is used to operate at least one fastening element by means of which the filter element is fastened or held in the suction opening, that the handle is arranged between the first filter part and the second filter part and is at least partially held between the two filter parts and that a connecting element, which is used to connect the two filter parts of the filter body
- a filter element is understood in particular to be a grease filter element for separating grease and liquid droplets or particles from vapors.
- the filter element is preferably a so-called filter cassette which can be inserted into the suction opening of the extractor hood and fastened there.
- the extractor hood is preferably a kitchen extractor hood for the household.
- the extractor hood can be, for example, a forge, a built-in hood, an intermediate hood or a flat screen hood.
- the filter element has an at least partially air-permeable filter body.
- a hollow body is referred to here as a filter body, which has at least one air inlet opening in its underside and at least one air outlet opening in its upper side.
- the filter body consists of a first filter part with a flat base and a second filter part with a flat base.
- the first filter part is also referred to below as the lower part and the second filter part is also referred to as the upper part.
- the filter element when it is installed or inserted in the extractor hood.
- the side facing the inflowing vapor is used as the bottom side and the side facing the clean air is used as the top side designated.
- the side of the components that faces the user when the filter element is installed in the extractor hood is referred to as the front or front.
- the back or back refers to the opposite side of the components.
- the back is usually facing the wall of the room to which the extractor hood is attached.
- the length of the components of the filter element is their dimension in the direction between the front and back.
- the two filter parts of the filter element according to the invention each have a flat base.
- the base has an elongated rectangular shape.
- the longer dimension of the base area is also referred to below as the length of the filter element.
- the dimension perpendicular to this in the area of the base is called the width.
- the filter element is preferably inserted into the suction opening of the extractor hood in such a way that the length of the filter element lies in the depth direction of the extractor hood and the suction opening.
- the two filter parts of the filter element are detachably connected to one another.
- a releasable connection is understood to mean, in particular, a connection that can be released by the user, preferably without tools, but at least without destruction.
- the releasable connection is preferably a form-fit connection and / or a force-fit connection.
- the releasable connection can be plugging into one another, latching and / or screwing.
- the releasable connection between the filter parts can take place directly between the filter parts.
- Corresponding connecting elements are provided on at least one of the filter parts. Alternatively or additionally, however, the filter parts can also be indirectly connected to one another via at least one separate connecting element.
- the connecting element can for example comprise a component arranged between the filter parts, for example a handle of the filter element.
- At least one slot is made in each of the base surfaces of the filter parts.
- a slot is an opening or a passage in which one dimension in the base area is larger than the other dimension in the base area.
- the slots are thus, for example, rectangular openings or elongated holes.
- At least one slot is made in each of the filter parts. If several slots are made in a filter part, they are preferably aligned parallel to one another.
- Each slot in the first filter part is offset from each slot in the second filter part.
- An offset of the slots in the two filter parts with respect to one another is an arrangement of the slots in which the slots of the two filter parts do not overlap in a vertical projection onto the base of one of the filter elements when the filter element is assembled.
- the filter parts are arranged in such a way that the base surfaces of the two filter parts are parallel to one another.
- the filter element Since the at least partially air-permeable filter body of the filter element consists according to the invention of two filter parts, the filter element has a simple structure overall. In particular, the number of parts of the components forming the filter element is limited. Disassembly and assembly of the filter element, in particular for cleaning purposes, is made easier. Because the filter parts each have a flat base, on the one hand the installation space that the filter element takes up in the installed state is less than in the case of a filter element which, for example, has a conical shape or the shape of a truncated pyramid. Rather, the filter element according to the invention has a shape which corresponds to the shape of conventional filter cassettes.
- an expanded metal filter cassette can be replaced by the filter element according to the invention without structural changes having to be made to the extractor hood.
- the flat base ensures a uniform flow of air inlet openings, in particular slots, in the base.
- the structure and thus the manufacture of the filter element are simplified by the filter parts with flat base surfaces.
- the cleaning of the filter element is also simplified in the case of filter parts with a flat base. The contaminated vapor flows directly against the underside of the filter element in particular. Since the base of the lower part of the filter element has a flat base, the likelihood of contaminants being deposited on the underside of the lower part is reduced and furthermore, any contaminants that may have deposited can be easily removed by simply wiping them.
- the filter parts of the filter element are still detachably connected to one another, the user of the extractor hood can separate them from one another. As a result, surfaces lying inside the filter body are also accessible and can be cleaned. If the filter parts are firmly connected to one another, however, the filter element must be cleaned in the dishwasher or in a water bath. The user cannot see whether all residues have been removed from the filter element. This is not to be feared with the filter element according to the invention with filter parts that can be detached from one another. Because the air inlet openings and air outlet openings in the filter body are formed by slots in the upper part and the lower part, the manufacture of the filter element is simplified on the one hand.
- the shape of a slot creates a relatively large air inlet area and air outlet area through a single opening.
- slots can easily be made by punching or pressing. Since the filter parts have a flat base, production is further simplified, since several slots can be made at the same time with a flat base.
- a filter part that has a flat base area in which at least one slot is made can be cleaned more easily than, for example, a filter layer made of mesh-shaped filter material.
- the offset, which according to the invention exists between the slots in the upper part and the lower part of the filter element, can finally prevent unhindered passage of contaminated air, which is also referred to as vapor, through the filter element.
- the air is rather swirled by this offset in the filter body of the filter element and impurities are reliably separated in the interior of the filter body.
- the filter element is therefore also referred to below as an eddy current filter or baffle filter.
- the filter element according to the invention it is therefore possible, with a simple structure of the filter element, to ensure the degree of separation of the filter element in a simple manner by reliable cleaning of the filter element even after a long period of time.
- the filter parts of the filter element according to the invention are preferably each formed in one piece.
- the filter body of the filter element consists of two components.
- This embodiment has the advantage that the number of components of the filter element is minimized and both the production and the handling, in particular the disassembly or dismantling and cleaning of the filter element, is simplified.
- a mere merging and connecting of the lower part with the upper part or vice versa is sufficient around the To form filter body.
- At least one of the filter parts has at least one projection which protrudes from the respective base area.
- the filter parts are preferably each formed in one piece, that is to say the projection is part of the upper part or the lower part.
- a projection or depression is referred to as a projection which protrudes or protrudes from the base surface of the filter part upwards or downwards.
- the projection can be at the edge of the base area or at a distance from the edge, that is to say in the area defined by the base area.
- a plurality of projections are preferably provided on each of the filter parts. These are preferably at least partially aligned transversely to one another.
- At least one projection preferably run on a filter part in the longitudinal direction of the filter part and at least one projection in the width direction of the filter part.
- increasing the rigidity of the filter parts through projections also ensures that the distance between the filter parts remains the same in the assembled state of the filter element, that is, bending or sagging of one or both filter parts is prevented. Maintaining a defined distance is to achieve an optimal one Degree of fat separation is necessary, since the geometry inside the filter body and thus the flow inside the filter body is determined by the distance.
- a connecting element for connecting the two filter parts to one another and / or a fastening element for fastening the filter element to the extractor hood can be provided on one or more of the projections.
- the projection represents an edge strip on at least one of the filter parts.
- an edge strip is in particular an area bent upwards or downwards from the base along one of the edges of the base of the filter part. Since the projection is provided as an edge strip, in addition to increasing the strength, it can also delimit the space in the filter body on at least one side and thus support a targeted flow through the filter body.
- the edge strip is preferably designed in one piece with the base surface of the filter part, that is to say is formed with the base surface from a material, for example a sheet metal part.
- the edge strip is particularly preferably bent out of the plane of the base area. This bending of the edge strip can be done by edges.
- the edge strip is particularly preferably multi-walled, in particular double-walled.
- This configuration of the edge strip can be produced by flanging.
- the free end of an edge strip bent from the base is bent by 180 ° until the free end points again in the direction of the base.
- the stability of the filter part is further increased.
- the risk of injury to the user is reduced, since the free end of the edge strip is usually made sharp as a result of the manufacturing process.
- this sharp edge faces the base surface and can no longer come into direct contact with the user.
- both the upper part and the lower part of the filter body have edge strips, preferably on all four edges of the base
- the dimensions of the upper part are preferably smaller than those of the lower part.
- the length and the width of the upper part are reduced by at least the wall thickness of the single-walled or multi-walled edge strips of the lower part. This can do that Upper part can be inserted into the lower part.
- the edge strips of the upper part are directed downwards and the edge strips of the lower part are directed upwards.
- At least one of the projections is a bead in addition to one or more edge strips or as an alternative thereto.
- a groove-shaped depression or groove-shaped elevation is referred to here as a bead, which is provided in the area of the base area of the filter part, that is to say at a distance from the edge of the base area.
- the bead can also be referred to as an embossing.
- the stability of the filter part and thus also of the filter body can be further increased by the bead (s).
- One or more beads are preferably only provided in the upper part of the filter body. Since the upper part is not directly exposed to vapor when the filter element is installed in the extractor hood, there is no need to fear that dirt will settle on the beads.
- the beads are preferably provided in the upper part in such a way that, when installed, they extend downward from the base area.
- the resulting depression on the upper side of the upper part is not a disadvantage since this area can only be reached by air that has already been cleaned, that is, clean air that leaves the filter element. Thus, there is no need to fear that impurities will settle in this depression in the upper side of the upper part.
- the provision of one or more beads in at least the upper part and / or the lower part of the filter body is advantageous, since this type of projections can be easily introduced, especially in the flat base area of the filter part, so that production is not unnecessarily complicated.
- the at least one bead is preferably provided transversely to the orientation of the at least one slot in the filter part.
- the at least one bead is particularly preferably perpendicular to the at least one slot in the base area.
- the at least one projection is a fold on the edge of the at least one slot.
- a bevel is a piece of material protruding upwards or downwards from the base surface of the filter part, which is produced, for example, by deep-drawing or bending from the material of the base surface of the filter part.
- this embodiment has the advantage that the side of the filter part facing away from the fold does not have any sharp edges in the area of the slots, since the edges of the slots are bent in the other direction.
- the bevels at the edges of the slots create a flow geometry in the interior of the filter body, which leads to an improved separation of impurities from the vapor.
- the vapor flowing towards the lower part is conducted from the slots in the lower part through the bevels projecting upward from the base area of the lower part to the upper part.
- the vapor hits the areas of the base of the upper part between the slits made.
- bevels are preferably provided at the slots. These folds are directed downwards.
- the air that reaches the upper part through the slots in the lower part and guided through the bevels on the lower part cannot escape directly through the slots in the upper part, but has to undergo two further changes of direction before it exits through the slots in the upper part can escape the filter body. This increases the cleaning effect, in particular the effect based on the eddy current principle.
- the at least one slot is preferably located in the longitudinal direction of the filter element in the at least one filter part.
- the length of the filter element denotes the dimension that, when the filter element is installed in the extractor hood, lies in the depth direction of the suction opening of the extractor hood.
- the filter element comprises a handle.
- a device is referred to as a handle by means of which the filter element is inserted into a suction opening of a Can be introduced and removed from the extractor hood.
- the handle is additionally at least partially used according to the invention for actuating at least one fastening element which can be part of the handle and by means of which the filter element is fastened or held in the suction opening.
- the handle is at least partially held between the two filter parts. This arrangement of at least part of the handle results in a number of advantages. On the one hand, the handle is at least partially protected by the lower part from the direct flow of vapor. Furthermore, fastening elements extending from the handle can protrude through a wall of the filter body and thus simultaneously serve to fasten the filter element to the extractor hood and, if necessary, at least contribute to the connection of the two filter parts of the filter body.
- a connecting element engages the handle.
- the connecting element which is used to connect the two filter parts of the filter body, is preferably a screw.
- the screw engages the handle which is arranged between the two filter parts, at least one of the filter parts can be clamped to the handle by the screw.
- the screw or another suitable connecting element engages through a bore or other opening in the filter part.
- the connecting element, in particular the screw protrudes upward beyond the filter body.
- At least one of the filter parts comprises at least one fastening element.
- a fastening element which is used to fasten the filter element in the suction opening of the extractor hood, to one of the filter parts of the filter element, the number of components that make up the filter element can be further reduced.
- the fastening element is preferably designed in one piece with the filter part.
- This is particularly preferred Fastening element is a retaining tab, which is also referred to as a fastening tab and which is bent outward from one of the edge strips of the upper part. This tab can extend through a corresponding passage opening in an edge strip of the lower part and protrudes beyond an end face of the filter body. Description
The present invention relates to a filter element for an extractor hood and an extractor hood.
In the case of extractor hoods, it is known to use at least one filter element by means of which impurities from vapors, in particular fat and liquid particles, are separated and thus separated from the air flow. Such filter elements, which are also referred to as grease filters, usually have a permanently mounted structure. For example, expanded metal filter elements are known. Several layers of expanded metal are held in a frame. Furthermore, so-called eddy current filters are known in which several profiles are held in a frame and thus lead to turbulence in the air passing through the profiles.
A disadvantage of the known filter elements is that they each represent a structural unit that is difficult to clean for the user of the extractor hood and therefore the degree of separation that can be achieved with the filter element decreases over time. In addition, some of these filter elements have a complex structure and their manufacture and cleaning is therefore time-consuming.
A disadvantage of these known filters and devices is that they have a complex structure.
The object of the present invention is therefore to create a filter element and an extractor hood which, with a simple structure, enable a reliably high degree of separation over a long period of time, in that the filter element can be cleaned in a simple manner.
The invention is based on the knowledge that this object can be achieved in that the filter element can be at least partially dismantled, that is to say taken apart, in a simple manner by the user.
According to a first aspect, the invention therefore relates to a filter element for an extractor hood for separating impurities from fumes. The filter element has an at least partially air-permeable filter body. The filter element is characterized in that the filter body consists of the filter element a first filter part with a flat base and a second filter part with a flat base, that the filter parts are detachably connected to each other, that at least one slot is made in the base of the filter parts, that each slot in the first filter part corresponds to each slot in the second filter part is arranged offset that the filter element comprises a handle, by means of which the filter element can be introduced into a suction opening of an extractor hood and removed from it, that the handle is used to operate at least one fastening element by means of which the filter element is fastened or held in the suction opening, that the handle is arranged between the first filter part and the second filter part and is at least partially held between the two filter parts and that a connecting element, which is used to connect the two filter parts of the filter body, engages the handle.
According to the present invention, a filter element is understood in particular to be a grease filter element for separating grease and liquid droplets or particles from vapors. The filter element is preferably a so-called filter cassette which can be inserted into the suction opening of the extractor hood and fastened there. The extractor hood is preferably a kitchen extractor hood for the household. The extractor hood can be, for example, a forge, a built-in hood, an intermediate hood or a flat screen hood.
According to the invention, the filter element has an at least partially air-permeable filter body. A hollow body is referred to here as a filter body, which has at least one air inlet opening in its underside and at least one air outlet opening in its upper side. The filter body consists of a first filter part with a flat base and a second filter part with a flat base. The first filter part is also referred to below as the lower part and the second filter part is also referred to as the upper part.
Unless otherwise stated, information such as above or below relates in the context of the invention to the filter element when it is installed or inserted in the extractor hood. In particular, the side facing the inflowing vapor is used as the bottom side and the side facing the clean air is used as the top side designated. The side of the components that faces the user when the filter element is installed in the extractor hood is referred to as the front or front. The back or back refers to the opposite side of the components. The back is usually facing the wall of the room to which the extractor hood is attached. The length of the components of the filter element is their dimension in the direction between the front and back.
The two filter parts of the filter element according to the invention each have a flat base. The base has an elongated rectangular shape. The longer dimension of the base area is also referred to below as the length of the filter element. The dimension perpendicular to this in the area of the base is called the width. The filter element is preferably inserted into the suction opening of the extractor hood in such a way that the length of the filter element lies in the depth direction of the extractor hood and the suction opening.
According to the invention, the two filter parts of the filter element are detachably connected to one another. A releasable connection is understood to mean, in particular, a connection that can be released by the user, preferably without tools, but at least without destruction. The releasable connection is preferably a form-fit connection and / or a force-fit connection. For example, the releasable connection can be plugging into one another, latching and / or screwing. The releasable connection between the filter parts can take place directly between the filter parts. Corresponding connecting elements are provided on at least one of the filter parts. Alternatively or additionally, however, the filter parts can also be indirectly connected to one another via at least one separate connecting element. In this case, the connecting element can for example comprise a component arranged between the filter parts, for example a handle of the filter element.
At least one slot is made in each of the base surfaces of the filter parts. A slot is an opening or a passage in which one dimension in the base area is larger than the other dimension in the base area. The slots are thus, for example, rectangular openings or elongated holes. At least one slot is made in each of the filter parts. If several slots are made in a filter part, they are preferably aligned parallel to one another.
Each slot in the first filter part is offset from each slot in the second filter part. An offset of the slots in the two filter parts with respect to one another is an arrangement of the slots in which the slots of the two filter parts do not overlap in a vertical projection onto the base of one of the filter elements when the filter element is assembled.
The filter parts are arranged in such a way that the base surfaces of the two filter parts are parallel to one another.
Since the at least partially air-permeable filter body of the filter element consists according to the invention of two filter parts, the filter element has a simple structure overall. Thus, for example, an expanded metal filter cassette can be replaced by the filter element according to the invention without structural changes having to be made to the extractor hood. In addition, the flat base ensures a uniform flow of air inlet openings, in particular slots, in the base. Furthermore, the structure and thus the manufacture of the filter element are simplified by the filter parts with flat base surfaces. Finally, the cleaning of the filter element is also simplified in the case of filter parts with a flat base.
Since the filter parts of the filter element are still detachably connected to one another, the user of the extractor hood can separate them from one another. In particular, the shape of a slot creates a relatively large air inlet area and air outlet area through a single opening. In addition, slots can easily be made by punching or pressing. Since the filter parts have a flat base, production is further simplified, since several slots can be made at the same time with a flat base. In addition, a filter part that has a flat base area in which at least one slot is made can be cleaned more easily than, for example, a filter layer made of mesh-shaped filter material. The offset, which according to the invention exists between the slots in the upper part and the lower part of the filter element, can finally prevent unhindered passage of contaminated air, which is also referred to as vapor, through the filter element. In the filter element according to the invention, the air is rather swirled by this offset in the filter body of the filter element and impurities are reliably separated in the interior of the filter body. The filter element is therefore also referred to below as an eddy current filter or baffle filter. With this type of filtering, a high degree of separation of impurities, in particular of low-viscosity impurities that occur, for example, when cooking Asian or Indian dishes, can be achieved.
With the filter element according to the invention, it is therefore possible, with a simple structure of the filter element, to ensure the degree of separation of the filter element in a simple manner by reliable cleaning of the filter element even after a long period of time.
The filter parts of the filter element according to the invention are preferably each formed in one piece. This means that the filter body of the filter element consists of two components. This embodiment has the advantage that the number of components of the filter element is minimized and both the production and the handling, in particular the disassembly or dismantling and cleaning of the filter element, is simplified. Compared to filter elements, in which a number of filter layers or a number of filter profiles are held in a frame and have to be aligned in this, in the preferred embodiment of the filter element, a mere merging and connecting of the lower part with the upper part or vice versa is sufficient around the To form filter body.
According to a preferred embodiment, at least one of the filter parts has at least one projection which protrudes from the respective base area. In this embodiment too, the filter parts are preferably each formed in one piece, that is to say the projection is part of the upper part or the lower part. In the context of the invention, a projection or depression is referred to as a projection which protrudes or protrudes from the base surface of the filter part upwards or downwards. The projection can be at the edge of the base area or at a distance from the edge, that is to say in the area defined by the base area. A plurality of projections are preferably provided on each of the filter parts. These are preferably at least partially aligned transversely to one another. In particular, at least one projection preferably run on a filter part in the longitudinal direction of the filter part and at least one projection in the width direction of the filter part. By providing one or more projections, the filter part with a flat base area is given a multidimensional structure. This increases the stability of the filter part. This is of particular importance in the filter element according to the invention, since the filter parts are releasably connected to one another and can be released from one another for cleaning purposes, for example. In the disassembled state, however, each filter part must still have sufficient stability that it can be washed by the user, for example, by hand or in a dishwasher. In addition, increasing the rigidity of the filter parts through projections also ensures that the distance between the filter parts remains the same in the assembled state of the filter element, that is, bending or sagging of one or both filter parts is prevented. Maintaining a defined distance is to achieve an optimal one Degree of fat separation is necessary, since the geometry inside the filter body and thus the flow inside the filter body is determined by the distance.
Furthermore, a connecting element for connecting the two filter parts to one another and / or a fastening element for fastening the filter element to the extractor hood can be provided on one or more of the projections.
According to one embodiment, the projection represents an edge strip on at least one of the filter parts. In this case, an edge strip is in particular an area bent upwards or downwards from the base along one of the edges of the base of the filter part. Since the projection is provided as an edge strip, in addition to increasing the strength, it can also delimit the space in the filter body on at least one side and thus support a targeted flow through the filter body. The edge strip is preferably designed in one piece with the base surface of the filter part, that is to say is formed with the base surface from a material, for example a sheet metal part. The edge strip is particularly preferably bent out of the plane of the base area. This bending of the edge strip can be done by edges. The edge strip is particularly preferably multi-walled, in particular double-walled. This configuration of the edge strip can be produced by flanging. Here, the free end of an edge strip bent from the base is bent by 180 ° until the free end points again in the direction of the base. By providing a multi-walled edge strip, the stability of the filter part is further increased. In addition, the risk of injury to the user is reduced, since the free end of the edge strip is usually made sharp as a result of the manufacturing process. By bending the free end of the edge strip towards the base surface, that is, by flanging the edge strip, this sharp edge faces the base surface and can no longer come into direct contact with the user.
In the embodiment in which both the upper part and the lower part of the filter body have edge strips, preferably on all four edges of the base, the dimensions of the upper part are preferably smaller than those of the lower part. In particular, the length and the width of the upper part are reduced by at least the wall thickness of the single-walled or multi-walled edge strips of the lower part. This can do that Upper part can be inserted into the lower part. The edge strips of the upper part are directed downwards and the edge strips of the lower part are directed upwards.
According to a further preferred embodiment, at least one of the projections is a bead in addition to one or more edge strips or as an alternative thereto. A groove-shaped depression or groove-shaped elevation is referred to here as a bead, which is provided in the area of the base area of the filter part, that is to say at a distance from the edge of the base area. The bead can also be referred to as an embossing. The stability of the filter part and thus also of the filter body can be further increased by the bead (s). One or more beads are preferably only provided in the upper part of the filter body. Since the upper part is not directly exposed to vapor when the filter element is installed in the extractor hood, there is no need to fear that dirt will settle on the beads. The beads are preferably provided in the upper part in such a way that, when installed, they extend downward from the base area. The resulting depression on the upper side of the upper part is not a disadvantage since this area can only be reached by air that has already been cleaned, that is, clean air that leaves the filter element. Thus, there is no need to fear that impurities will settle in this depression in the upper side of the upper part. Finally, the provision of one or more beads in at least the upper part and / or the lower part of the filter body is advantageous, since this type of projections can be easily introduced, especially in the flat base area of the filter part, so that production is not unnecessarily complicated.
The at least one bead is preferably provided transversely to the orientation of the at least one slot in the filter part. The at least one bead is particularly preferably perpendicular to the at least one slot in the base area. By introducing slots, in particular a plurality of parallel slots, into a filter part, its stability against bending in the direction perpendicular to the alignment of the slots is reduced. By introducing beads, this reduction in stability can at least be eliminated. Particularly preferably, two beads are provided in the upper part of the filter element, each lying in the vicinity of the edge of the filter part between the edge and the ends of slots which are made in the longitudinal direction.
According to a further preferred embodiment, the at least one projection is a fold on the edge of the at least one slot. In this case, a bevel is a piece of material protruding upwards or downwards from the base surface of the filter part, which is produced, for example, by deep-drawing or bending from the material of the base surface of the filter part. In addition to the further increase in stability, this embodiment has the advantage that the side of the filter part facing away from the fold does not have any sharp edges in the area of the slots, since the edges of the slots are bent in the other direction. In addition, the bevels at the edges of the slots create a flow geometry in the interior of the filter body, which leads to an improved separation of impurities from the vapor. In particular, the vapor flowing towards the lower part is conducted from the slots in the lower part through the bevels projecting upward from the base area of the lower part to the upper part. Here the vapor hits the areas of the base of the upper part between the slits made. In the upper part, too, bevels are preferably provided at the slots. These folds are directed downwards. Thus, the air that reaches the upper part through the slots in the lower part and guided through the bevels on the lower part cannot escape directly through the slots in the upper part, but has to undergo two further changes of direction before it exits through the slots in the upper part can escape the filter body. This increases the cleaning effect, in particular the effect based on the eddy current principle.
The at least one slot is preferably located in the longitudinal direction of the filter element in the at least one filter part. The length of the filter element denotes the dimension that, when the filter element is installed in the extractor hood, lies in the depth direction of the suction opening of the extractor hood. By providing the slits in this direction in the filter element, a maximum area of an air inlet opening can be provided with a small number of slits. The slots preferably extend over the greater part of the length of the filter element and only end at a distance from the longitudinal ends of the base area of the respective filter part.
According to the invention, the filter element comprises a handle. According to the invention, a device is referred to as a handle by means of which the filter element is inserted into a suction opening of a Can be introduced and removed from the extractor hood. According to the invention, the handle is additionally at least partially used according to the invention for actuating at least one fastening element which can be part of the handle and by means of which the filter element is fastened or held in the suction opening.
The handle is at least partially held between the two filter parts.
According to the invention, a connecting element engages the handle. The connecting element, which is used to connect the two filter parts of the filter body, is preferably a screw. As the screw engages the handle which is arranged between the two filter parts, at least one of the filter parts can be clamped to the handle by the screw. For this purpose, the screw or another suitable connecting element engages through a bore or other opening in the filter part. Particularly preferably, the connecting element, in particular the screw, protrudes upward beyond the filter body. As a result, when the filter element is used, the screw is turned away from the inflowing vapor and is protected from it by the filter element. In the state in which the filter element has been removed from the extractor hood, the connecting element, in particular the screw, can easily be operated by the user and the filter element can thus be taken apart.
According to a preferred embodiment, at least one of the filter parts comprises at least one fastening element. By providing a fastening element, which is used to fasten the filter element in the suction opening of the extractor hood, to one of the filter parts of the filter element, the number of components that make up the filter element can be further reduced. The fastening element is preferably designed in one piece with the filter part. This is particularly preferred Fastening element is a retaining tab, which is also referred to as a fastening tab and which is bent outward from one of the edge strips of the upper part. This tab can extend through a corresponding passage opening in an edge strip of the lower part and protrudes beyond an end face of the filter body. With this configuration of the fastening element, it serves both to fasten the filter element in the extractor hood and to support the connection of the filter parts of the filter body.
According to a particularly preferred embodiment, the filter body consists of an upper part and a lower part. The lower part has parallel slots introduced in the longitudinal direction with bevels at the edges of the slots, which are directed upwards. In addition, the lower part has upstanding edge strips on its edges, which are flanged at their upper end. Passage openings are provided in the edge strips of the end faces. In one edge strip, these serve for the passage of fastening tabs and in the opposite edge strip for the passage of locking pins of a handle. The upper part of the particularly preferred embodiment also has parallel slots which are introduced in the longitudinal direction and which are arranged offset in the width direction relative to the slots of the lower part. At the edges of the slots, bevels are provided which extend downward from the base of the upper part. Downwardly directed edge strips are provided on the edges of the upper part. Beads are introduced between the longitudinal ends of the slots and the front edges of the upper part. The two beads run in the width direction of the upper part. Two tabs are bent outwards on one edge strip of the upper part. The width and length of the upper part is less than the width and length of the lower part, so that it can be inserted into the lower part. Here, the inner sides of the edge strips of the lower part rest against the outer sides of the edge strips of the upper part. The height of the edge strips of the upper part is also less than the height of the edge strips of the upper part. As a result, the outer dimensions of the filter body are determined exclusively by the dimensions of the width, height and length of the lower part. The base of the upper part only limits the interior space of the filter body upwards. In an end area, a plate-shaped area is provided in the upper part and the lower part, in which no slots are provided. For this purpose, the middle slots of the upper part and the lower part are shorter than the further slots in the respective filter part. In the plate-shaped area of the In the lower part, a passage opening is made for reaching through to a handle of the filter element. In the plate-shaped area of the upper part, a bore is provided for the passage of a clamping screw as a connecting element. The handle is inserted between the upper part and the lower part in the area of the plate-shaped area. Here, a recessed grip of the handle is aligned with the access opening in the lower part. Latching pins of the handle extend in a plane parallel to the base surfaces of the upper part and the lower part of the filter body. The locking pins reach through the passage openings in the edge strip of the lower part and can be actuated, that is, retracted and extended, by actuating means in the recessed grip. A clamping screw is passed through the hole in the upper part and engages the top of the handle. As a result, the upper part is clamped and held in the plate-shaped area between the screw head and the flat upper side of the handle, which is referred to as the clamping plate. The retaining tabs on the edge strip of the upper part reach through passage openings in the edge strip of the lower part and protrude beyond the latter.
According to a further aspect, the invention relates to an extractor hood with at least one filter element. The extractor hood is characterized in that the filter element is a filter element according to the invention. Advantages and features that are described with regard to the filter element also apply - if applicable - to the filter element and vice versa.
According to a preferred embodiment, the filter element is installed horizontally in the extractor hood. In this embodiment, the advantages of the present invention can be used particularly well. In particular, fat and other liquids that are deposited inside the filter body can be absorbed in the profile formed by the bevels on the slots.

A number of advantages can be achieved with the present invention. In particular, simple cleaning of the filter element is possible. The cleaning does not have to be done in a dishwasher, but can also be done by hand. Since the filter parts of the filter element are detachably connected to one another, residues of impurities in the interior of the filter body can be recognized by the user and removed if necessary. This ensures a high separation rate of the filter element even after prolonged use. Thanks to the eddy current technology used to separate the impurities, it is also possible to achieve a high separation rate for low-viscosity impurities, such as those that occur in particular when preparing Asian or Indian dishes. Furthermore, the risk of injury to the user when cleaning the filter element is reduced to a minimum.
