Description

The invention relates to a buoyant rope, i. a dew floating on the water.

Such ropes are known. JP 2000-303254 and JP 2003-055836 describe in each case a buoyant dew made of hollow fibers of a thermoplastic polymer, for example made of nylon 6, with a proportion of the hollow volume at the fiber volume of 10 to 35%, wherein the hollow fibers have at least two lumens.

WO 2009/026215 describes a hybrid yarn of one or more polyolefin fibers and one or more reinforcing fibers. The hybrid yarn can be used inter alia to form fibrous structures including braided tows.

EP 0 666 364 A2 describes a dew that floats in water. The rope consists of two or more fiber strands and a floating body, which is arranged in a rope. The fibers of the fiber strands are spun around the float and are plant fibers or synthetic fibers. The Schwimmköper is designed as a sausage-shaped foam material or as a sausage-shaped Schlau, wherein both the foam material and the tube is either in continuous form or divided into elements or cut into pieces.

Therefore, the present invention has the object to provide another buoyant rope.

This object is achieved by a floatable in water rope consisting of at least two strands, each strand comprises synthetic fibers, and preferably each strand of synthetic fibers, wherein the dew is characterized in that the synthetic fibers comprise a component A) and a component B) wherein A) is at least one monofilament, said monofilament having a diameter in the range of 0.5 to 7.0 mm, and B) at least one multifilament yarn whose filaments are hollow fiber filaments.

Surprisingly, it has been found that, in that the synthetic fibers in each strand of the rope according to the invention comprise a component A) and a component B), wherein A) is at least one monofilament with a diameter in the range of 0.5 to 7.0 mm and B ) is at least one multifilament yarn whose filaments are hollow fibers, floatable tows can be made, which have a much more stable cable cross-sectional shape compared to tows that consist of 100% multifilament yarn. The significantly more stable rope cross-sectional shape of the buoyant rope according to the invention has the consequence that the buoyant rope according to the invention has the following technical advantages in comparison to a buoyant rope without component A):
  • A uniform winding of winches or winches on ships is certainly possible and the maximum diameter of the winches is not exceeded at full winding.
  • The subjecting of rope segments during winding (eg on winches) is either completely avoided or at least significantly reduced. The avoidance or at least the significant reduction of Unterziehen is an essential prerequisite for a uniform drainage of the rope from the wind, whereby the danger of injury of persons is avoided by abruptly released untergezogene rope segments or at least significantly reduced.
  • The frictional resistance in guiding the dew via guide elements, such as Klüsen, is due to the relatively low contact surface of the rope
  • reduces the guide elements, whereby the core material surrounded by the monofilament is protected from damage by abrasion.
