Definitions
- the present invention relates to a finishing profile surface dressing to dress.
- a substantially flat surface such as a wall, ceiling, floor, interior or exterior or an intermediate wall in a dwelling such as a bath wall, shower, a built-in furniture , or any existing discontinuity in the wall or floor surfaces or ceiling, such as steps, walls, beams, rafters or window sills
- finishing profiles for example U-shaped, arranged to overlap the edges formed by the cladding elements assembled together or solid rods. full of finishing to be positioned over the formed edges (see eg EP 0 900 897 , US 5,079,880 or DE 1010523 ). If this is sometimes acceptable in cases where the poses are very simple, for example for a floor covering on an area to be defined, where a simple solid rod or a U-shaped section is sufficient to delimit the area of flooring, this is really not always the case.
- the invention aims to overcome the disadvantages of the state of the art by providing an inexpensive finishing profile, effective in providing an improved and simple finish being versatile and quick to place.
- a finishing profile as indicated at the beginning comprising an apparent face and a face arranged to be positioned on the surface to be dressed, and a first U-shaped section describing a first cavity provided with a first bottom wall and first side walls, said first cavity being arranged to receive a surface dressing element to be dressed and a second U-shaped section describing a second cavity provided with a second bottom wall and second side walls, one of which is arranged to abut against a surface substantially perpendicular to said surface to be dressed and the other is formed by said first bottom wall of said first cavity.
- U-section is meant in the sense of the present invention, a section defined by two substantially parallel planes and closed by a plane of a substantially perpendicular orientation.
- the intersections between the planes may be right angles, or a rounded or a truncated corner connecting the plane perpendicular to or parallel planes.
- finishing profile of surface dressing to dress is particularly simple construction and is therefore inexpensive.
- it is perfectly versatile by adapting to any type of corner, edge and delimitation. It therefore does not require excessive calculation and reflection before positioning the cladding elements since the same finishing profile will be suitable for any type of corner, edge and delimitation.
- the first U-shaped section is provided to accommodate a cladding element and in this way cover the apparent edges while the second U-shaped section has a side wall arranged to abut against a substantially perpendicular surface.
- a finishing profile may cover the edge near a wall and in this case the side wall will abut against the lower part of the wall.
- Such a finishing profile may also cover the edge near a connection with another floor surface and in this case the side wall will abut against another previously positioned floor covering surface such as a tile.
- a finishing profile may also cover the edge near the ceiling or near another wall.
- the surface finishing profile to be dressed according to the present invention is versatile in that the same finishing profile can be used horizontally, at the top or bottom of a wall or on a floor or a ceiling, or vertically, along an inner or outer edge to provide an interior or exterior corner finish.
- said apparent face is continuous.
- said first U-shaped section comprises a transverse reinforcement wall.
- This transverse reinforcing wall has a double advantage, on the one hand it makes it possible to reinforce the strength of the finishing profile and on the other hand it makes it possible to provide an abutment surface against which will come into contact with either an edge of elements of or another finish profile that would be inserted therein, for example to provide the finishing of a wall frame around a window or a frame, which will be explained in more detail below.
- said apparent face has a recess such that the distance between outer faces of said first side walls of said first U-shaped section is greater than a distance between said second wall. bottom of the second U-shaped section and a free end of said first side wall arranged to abut against said surface substantially perpendicular to said surface to be dressed. Again, this depression has a dual role.
- this recess provides a finishing profile thickness in a relatively limited area smaller than the thickness of the remainder of the finishing profile, which allows a fitting of a finishing profile in another to provide a face apparent of a set of substantially continuous finishing profiles even if a groove is likely to be apparent.
- this zone whose thickness is somewhat reduced allows, in the case of an interior or exterior corner finish to abut a side wall of a first section of another finishing profile.
- the recess having a lateral area which accommodates the free end of the first side wall of said first U-shaped section. This will also be explained in more detail below.
- one of said first side walls of said first U-shaped section is arranged to be positioned against said surface to be dressed and has a length greater than the length of the other first side wall, said one of said first side wall optionally being provided with an orifice for a fixing means, such that the finishing profile can be fixed to said surface to be dressed by said fastening means such as for example a screw inserted in said orifice.
- said finishing profile according to the present invention can be screwed against the surface to be dressed and the fact that one of the first side walls is shorter than the other provides access to insert the fastening means, such as the screw and surely the appropriate tool for the proud as a screwdriver, or a screwdriver.
- said distance between said second bottom wall of the second U-shaped section and said free end of said second lateral wall arranged to abut against said surface substantially perpendicular to said surface to be dressed is equal to or very slightly greater than said distance between internal faces of said first side walls of said first U-shaped section.
- one of the first side walls of said first U-shaped section is the face arranged to be positioned on the surface to be dressed and has a left shoulder and a straight shoulder forming a depression in said face arranged to be positioned on the surface to be dressed.
- the second U-section of the finishing profile has a depth less than the spacing between said side walls of the first U-shaped section, because said exposed face has a depression such that the distance between outer faces of said first walls side of said first U-shaped section is greater than a distance between said second bottom wall of the second U-shaped section and a free end of said side wall arranged to abut against said surface substantially perpendicular to said surface to be dressed, the top of the left or right shoulder on the side of the face in contact with the surface to be dressed is slightly set back, towards the inside of the finishing profile, with respect to the first lateral wall of the way contact with the surface to be dressed.
- this effect is also obtained by a truncated wedge that allows the second finishing profile fitted on the first does not abut against the screw inserted into the orifice of the first side wall fixed against the surface to dress.
- the first side wall of said first U-shaped section arranged to be positioned on the surface to be dressed, has a second left shoulder forming a staircase in said recess in said face arranged to be positioned on the surface to be dressed.
- a second left shoulder is present on the side closest to the free end of the first side wall of the face in contact with the surface to be dressed, a bearing surface is provided, parallel to the orientation of the surface to dress, which reinforces the cohesion of the two finishing profiles to fit.
- the first side wall of said first U-shaped section arranged to be positioned on the surface to be dressed, has a second right shoulder forming a staircase in said recess in said face arranged to be positioned on the surface to be dressed.
- This provides the same advantage as above.
- the same finishing profile can be positioned on a left edge or a straight edge.
- the second shoulder will be provided on the left or right when the profile is positioned on the surface to be dressed, but anyway, the nearest place of the free end of the first side wall of the first section of the face in contact with the surface to be dressed.
- the second shoulder will be considered to be left or right but the structure as such of said finishing profile will be identical.
- a distance between said second side walls of said second U-shaped cavity is less than a distance between said first-end wall and a free end of said first side wall of the apparent face of said finishing profile, thereby providing a groove longitudinal on the apparent face of a series of finishing profiles nested one inside the other.
- the invention also relates to a set of profiles comprising at least two finishing profiles according to the present invention and a series of covering elements of a surface to be dressed.
- the following will better understand the cooperation between the finishing profiles and the cladding elements of a surface to be dressed by the description of the set of profiles according to the present invention.
- said surface substantially perpendicular to said surface to be dressed against which abuts one of the second side walls of said second U-shaped cavity is a face internal of said second bottom wall of said second cavity of another finishing section of said assembly.
- said surface substantially perpendicular to said surface to be dressed against which abuts one of the second side walls of said second U-shaped cavity is an outer face of said second bottom wall of said second cavity.
- the first finishing section comprising in the first U-shaped section of the cladding elements comprises a second U-shaped section which is positioned in abutment on the outside of said second bottom wall of a second section.
- a second finishing profile which itself comprises the trim elements housed in its first section, so as to perfectly cover an inner corner.
- said surface substantially perpendicular to said surface to be dressed against which abuts one of the second side walls of said second U-shaped cavity is a transverse wall of internal reinforcement of said first U-shaped section. another finishing section of said assembly or said first-bottom wall.
- the first finishing section comprising in the first U-shaped section of the cladding elements comprises a second U-shaped section which is fitted inside a first section of a second finishing section so that to provide a threading of finishing profiles one in the other, for example to cover a frame frame or door but also for the case where the consumer would like to have wider siding edges.
- the trim profile 1 surface to dress includes an apparent face 2 and a face 3 arranged to be positioned on the surface to be dressed.
- the finishing profile comprises a first section 4 U describing a first cavity provided with a first bottom wall 5 and two first side walls 6 and 7. One of the first side walls 6 is longer than the other first side wall 7 and includes a series of ports into which a screw can be inserted to secure the finishing profile to the surface to be dressed.
- the first cavity 4 is arranged to receive a surface dressing element to be dressed.
- the finishing profile comprises a second U-shaped section 8 describing a second cavity provided with a second bottom wall 9 and two second lateral walls 10 and 11, one of which is arranged to abut against a surface substantially perpendicular to said surface. to dress and the other 11 is formed by said first-bottom wall 5 of said first cavity 4.
- the surface finishing profile 1 of the surface to be dressed is particularly simple to construct and is therefore inexpensive.
- the first U-shaped section 4 is provided for housing a covering element (not shown). or another finishing profile 1 depending on the needs and the desired finish and in this way cover the exposed edges if they are present.
- the second section 8 U has a side wall 10 arranged to abut against a substantially perpendicular surface 13 (see figure 4 where the perpendicular surface is shown). This means that when laying a parquet, such a finishing profile can cover the edge near a wall 13 and in this case, the side wall 10 will abut against the lower part of the wall 13.
- the first U-shaped section 4 comprises a transverse reinforcing wall 12 which makes it possible to reinforce the strength of the finishing profile 1 and which makes it possible to provide an abutment surface against which will come into contact either an edge of covering elements or another finishing profile 1 which would be inserted.
- the frames of frame or contour of door measure in depth between 5 and 25 cm. For standard measurements, there is usually about 15 cm. It is often very difficult to cut cladding, cladding, wood clapboard, polymer or metal profile cladding elements to such a small size, and the join edges are then apparent.
- the present invention allows the frame around windows, doors, etc. only be covered with an encased finishing profile assembly that will be either in the same material as the cladding element, or in a different material, in the same color or not. This is described in more detail with the figure 2 .
- the apparent face 2 has a recess 15 so that the distance between external faces of said first side walls 6 and 7 of said first U-shaped section 4 is greater than a distance between said second bottom wall 9 of the second section 8, U and a free end 16 of said side wall 10, which provides a thickness of finishing profile in a relatively limited area smaller than the thickness of the remainder of the finishing profile 1, which allows an optimal interlocking of a profile finish 1 in another to provide an apparent face 2 of a substantially continuous finish profile assembly even though a groove 17 will likely be apparent.
- the depression 15 has a lateral zone 18 which makes it possible to accommodate the free end 19 of the first side wall 7 of said first U-shaped section.
- the distance between said second bottom wall 9 of the second U-shaped section 8 and said free end 16 of said second lateral wall 10 arranged to abut against said surface 13 substantially perpendicular to said surface to be dressed is equal to or slightly greater at said distance between inner faces of said first side walls 6 and 7 of said first U-shaped section 4.
- the first side wall 6 of said first U-shaped section 4 has a shoulder 20 and a shoulder 21 forming a recess 22 in said face 3 arranged to be positioned on the surface to be dressed.
- the free end 23 of said first side wall of the other finishing profile 1 simply approaches the lateral edge of the shoulder 20 to allow a perfect finish of the two finishing profiles 1, one relative to the other.
- the recess 23 also allows housing the screw inserted in one of the orifices of the first side wall 6, in particular the head of the screw.
- the second U-section 8 of the finishing profile 1 has a depth less than the spacing between said side walls 6 and 7 of the first U-shaped section. This is achieved because said apparent face 3 has a recess 22 so that the distance finishing section 1, with respect to the first side wall 6 of the face 3 of contact with the surface to be dressed. It is precisely this feature that promotes the fitting of two finishing profiles into one another and provides the abutment of the free end 16 of the first side wall 10 of the face 3 in contact with the surface to be dressed. .
- a second shoulder 24 forming a staircase in said recess 22 in said face 3 arranged to be positioned on the surface to be dressed.
- a bearing surface is provided, parallel to the orientation. the surface to be dressed, which reinforces the cohesion of the two finishing profiles 1 to fit.
- the distance between said second side walls 10 and 11 of said second U-shaped cavity 8 is less than a distance between the first-end wall 5 and a free end 19 of said first lateral wall 7 of the apparent face 2 of said profile. finish 1, which provides a longitudinal groove 17 on the apparent face 2.
- first section 1a include in its first section 4a of covering elements covering the wall 14a housed therein.
- the second section 8a of the first finishing section 1a is housed in the second section 8b of a second finishing section 1b by contact between the outside of the second wall 10a of the second section 8a of the profile 1a against the wall of second bottom 9b of a second section 8b of a second section 1b.
- the consumer can then choose to nest in the first section 4b of the second profile 1b finishing trim elements or other finishing profiles 1 as is the case at the figure 1 or 4 .
- trim elements will be accommodated possibly via one or more other finishing profiles, if the consumer wants a thicker corner or not, depending on the exterior design he wants.
- a first section 1a comprise in its first section 4a wall covering elements 14a housed therein.
- the second section 8a of the first finishing section 1a is housed against the second section 8b of a second finishing section 1b by contact between the outside of the second side wall 10a of the second section 8a of the section 1a against the wall external second bottom 9b of a second section 8b of a second section 1b.
- the consumer can then choose to nest in the first section 4b of the second section 1b finishing trim elements or other finishing profiles 1 as c is the case figure 1 or 4 .

Description
The present invention relates to a finishing profile surface dressing to dress.
When it is desired or desirable to coat a substantially flat surface such as a wall, ceiling, floor, interior or exterior or an intermediate wall in a dwelling such as a bath wall, shower, a built-in furniture , or any existing discontinuity in the wall or floor surfaces or ceiling, such as steps, walls, beams, rafters or window sills, it is generally used the installation of parquet, cladding boards, labris, false ceiling slats or any type of cladding elements called here in the context of the present invention of cladding elements.
Unfortunately, when using this type of trim elements the finishing of the edges and edges (inside corner or outside corner) is often unsatisfactory, in particular because of the difficulty of cutting all these elements of cladding. the same length. This gives rise to stepped edges or at edges on which the core of the cladding element is apparent. When the cladding element is a solid parquet board, the exposed edges, even if they are cut to exactly the same length, have a lighter shade because the heart of the wood is not treated in the same way than the area of use. When the cladding element is a hollow section of plastic, the exposed edges are sometimes formed by the transverse reinforcements, sometimes formed by hollows, which provides an unacceptable finish. In any case, there is a need to remedy this finishing problem.
Unfortunately this requires a thorough reflection at the time of purchase since depending on the type of corner, the connection or the delimitation to achieve, the skilled person will acquire a predetermined number of each of the profiles adapted to each type of corner , connection or delimitation that he intends to achieve. In addition, in the case of exterior cladding or wall paneling, the outlines of windows, French windows and doors remain a real challenge for the skilled person who today does not have the appropriate means. to provide an acceptable finish in these areas, which are usually particularly visible. In addition, placing such external cladding or wall paneling around the windows, doors and doors require a thorough reflection and a particularly long time to pre-cut the cladding elements so that they cooperate advantageously with the finishing profile.
As can be seen, there is not today on the market a simple, effective and inexpensive solution that would be both versatile and on the other hand would reduce the exposure time of such elements of clothing on a surface to dress.
The invention aims to overcome the disadvantages of the state of the art by providing an inexpensive finishing profile, effective in providing an improved and simple finish being versatile and quick to place.
To solve this problem, it is provided according to the invention, a finishing profile as indicated at the beginning comprising an apparent face and a face arranged to be positioned on the surface to be dressed, and a first U-shaped section describing a first cavity provided with a first bottom wall and first side walls, said first cavity being arranged to receive a surface dressing element to be dressed and a second U-shaped section describing a second cavity provided with a second bottom wall and second side walls, one of which is arranged to abut against a surface substantially perpendicular to said surface to be dressed and the other is formed by said first bottom wall of said first cavity.
By the terms "U-section" is meant in the sense of the present invention, a section defined by two substantially parallel planes and closed by a plane of a substantially perpendicular orientation. Of course, the intersections between the planes may be right angles, or a rounded or a truncated corner connecting the plane perpendicular to or parallel planes.
It can be seen, the finishing profile of surface dressing to dress is particularly simple construction and is therefore inexpensive. In addition, it is perfectly versatile by adapting to any type of corner, edge and delimitation. It therefore does not require excessive calculation and reflection before positioning the cladding elements since the same finishing profile will be suitable for any type of corner, edge and delimitation.
Indeed, the first U-shaped section is provided to accommodate a cladding element and in this way cover the apparent edges while the second U-shaped section has a side wall arranged to abut against a substantially perpendicular surface. This means that when laying a parquet, such a finishing profile may cover the edge near a wall and in this case the side wall will abut against the lower part of the wall. Such a finishing profile may also cover the edge near a connection with another floor surface and in this case the side wall will abut against another previously positioned floor covering surface such as a tile. In the case of paneling or wall cladding, such a finishing profile may also cover the edge near the ceiling or near another wall.
As can be seen, the surface finishing profile to be dressed according to the present invention is versatile in that the same finishing profile can be used horizontally, at the top or bottom of a wall or on a floor or a ceiling, or vertically, along an inner or outer edge to provide an interior or exterior corner finish.
Avantageusement, ladite face apparente est continue.Advantageously, said apparent face is continuous.
In a particular embodiment according to the present invention, said first U-shaped section comprises a transverse reinforcement wall. This transverse reinforcing wall has a double advantage, on the one hand it makes it possible to reinforce the strength of the finishing profile and on the other hand it makes it possible to provide an abutment surface against which will come into contact with either an edge of elements of or another finish profile that would be inserted therein, for example to provide the finishing of a wall frame around a window or a frame, which will be explained in more detail below.
In a particularly advantageous form of the finishing profile according to the present invention, said apparent face has a recess such that the distance between outer faces of said first side walls of said first U-shaped section is greater than a distance between said second wall. bottom of the second U-shaped section and a free end of said first side wall arranged to abut against said surface substantially perpendicular to said surface to be dressed. Again, this depression has a dual role.
On the one hand, this recess provides a finishing profile thickness in a relatively limited area smaller than the thickness of the remainder of the finishing profile, which allows a fitting of a finishing profile in another to provide a face apparent of a set of substantially continuous finishing profiles even if a groove is likely to be apparent. We also know that it is better to provide a really apparent groove rather than a joint between two sections that are substantially narrow but which would not be perfect and which ultimately attracted the eye even more than an apparent groove. On the other hand, this zone whose thickness is somewhat reduced allows, in the case of an interior or exterior corner finish to abut a side wall of a first section of another finishing profile. The recess having a lateral area which accommodates the free end of the first side wall of said first U-shaped section. This will also be explained in more detail below.
Advantageously, in said finishing section according to the present invention one of said first side walls of said first U-shaped section is arranged to be positioned against said surface to be dressed and has a length greater than the length of the other first side wall, said one of said first side wall optionally being provided with an orifice for a fixing means, such that the finishing profile can be fixed to said surface to be dressed by said fastening means such as for example a screw inserted in said orifice.
In this way, said finishing profile according to the present invention can be screwed against the surface to be dressed and the fact that one of the first side walls is shorter than the other provides access to insert the fastening means, such as the screw and surely the appropriate tool for the proud as a screwdriver, or a screwdriver.
In another preferred embodiment according to the present invention, said distance between said second bottom wall of the second U-shaped section and said free end of said second lateral wall arranged to abut against said surface substantially perpendicular to said surface to be dressed is equal to or very slightly greater than said distance between internal faces of said first side walls of said first U-shaped section. This allows, in the case of an interlocking of two finishing profiles one inside the other, to provide a forced fit. which will ensure the maintenance in place relative to each other of the finishing profiles.
In yet another preferred embodiment according to the present invention, one of the first side walls of said first U-shaped section is the face arranged to be positioned on the surface to be dressed and has a left shoulder and a straight shoulder forming a depression in said face arranged to be positioned on the surface to be dressed. This again allows that the free end of said first side wall positioned against the surface to be dressed of a finishing profile that would be fitted on another finishing profile abuts on the lateral edge of the left or right shoulder depending on the positioning of the finishing profile, so as to allow a solid retention of the two finishing profiles relative to each other. Since the second U-section of the finishing profile has a depth less than the spacing between said side walls of the first U-shaped section, because said exposed face has a depression such that the distance between outer faces of said first walls side of said first U-shaped section is greater than a distance between said second bottom wall of the second U-shaped section and a free end of said side wall arranged to abut against said surface substantially perpendicular to said surface to be dressed, the top of the left or right shoulder on the side of the face in contact with the surface to be dressed is slightly set back, towards the inside of the finishing profile, with respect to the first lateral wall of the way contact with the surface to be dressed. It is precisely this feature that promotes the fitting of two finishing profiles into one another and provides the abutment of the free end of the first side wall of the face in contact with the surface to be dressed and performs a cavity which can accommodate a screw or glue or any other means of attaching the finishing profile to said surface to be dressed. For example, when several profiles are nested one in the other, it is necessary to secure at least one of the profiles on said surface to be dressed (as for example using the screw inserted into the hole of the first wall side of the first U-shaped section, against the surface to be dressed). The shoulder thus allows the creation of a recess in which will be housed the head of the profile screw fixed to the surface to be dressed, nested in the other section.
In a variant according to the invention, this effect is also obtained by a truncated wedge that allows the second finishing profile fitted on the first does not abut against the screw inserted into the orifice of the first side wall fixed against the surface to dress.
Advantageously, the first side wall of said first U-shaped section, arranged to be positioned on the surface to be dressed, has a second left shoulder forming a staircase in said recess in said face arranged to be positioned on the surface to be dressed. When a second left shoulder is present on the side closest to the free end of the first side wall of the face in contact with the surface to be dressed, a bearing surface is provided, parallel to the orientation of the surface to dress, which reinforces the cohesion of the two finishing profiles to fit.
In an alternative according to the present invention, the first side wall of said first U-shaped section, arranged to be positioned on the surface to be dressed, has a second right shoulder forming a staircase in said recess in said face arranged to be positioned on the surface to be dressed. This provides the same advantage as above. The same finishing profile can be positioned on a left edge or a straight edge. However, depending on whether it is positioned to the left or right of a dressing surface, the second shoulder will be provided on the left or right when the profile is positioned on the surface to be dressed, but anyway, the nearest place of the free end of the first side wall of the first section of the face in contact with the surface to be dressed. Of course, not positioned according to whether it is in one direction or the other, the second shoulder will be considered to be left or right but the structure as such of said finishing profile will be identical.
Preferably, a distance between said second side walls of said second U-shaped cavity is less than a distance between said first-end wall and a free end of said first side wall of the apparent face of said finishing profile, thereby providing a groove longitudinal on the apparent face of a series of finishing profiles nested one inside the other.
Other embodiments of the finishing profile according to the invention are indicated in the appended claims.
The invention also relates to a set of profiles comprising at least two finishing profiles according to the present invention and a series of covering elements of a surface to be dressed. The following will better understand the cooperation between the finishing profiles and the cladding elements of a surface to be dressed by the description of the set of profiles according to the present invention.
Advantageously, said surface substantially perpendicular to said surface to be dressed against which abuts one of the second side walls of said second U-shaped cavity is a face internal of said second bottom wall of said second cavity of another finishing section of said assembly. From this, it appears that the first finishing section comprising in the first U-shaped section of the cladding elements comprises a second U-shaped section which is fitted inside a second section of a second finishing section which comprises itself the trim elements housed in its first section, so as to perfectly cover an outer corner.
Of course, the foregoing has been described by considering that the first section has trim elements, but it could also be that the first section has in fact other identical finishing profiles that are nested therein. This applies for all the present description of the invention.
In another advantageous embodiment according to the invention, said surface substantially perpendicular to said surface to be dressed against which abuts one of the second side walls of said second U-shaped cavity is an outer face of said second bottom wall of said second cavity. another finishing section of said assembly.
From this, it emerges that the first finishing section comprising in the first U-shaped section of the cladding elements comprises a second U-shaped section which is positioned in abutment on the outside of said second bottom wall of a second section. a second finishing profile which itself comprises the trim elements housed in its first section, so as to perfectly cover an inner corner.
In another preferred embodiment according to the present invention, said surface substantially perpendicular to said surface to be dressed against which abuts one of the second side walls of said second U-shaped cavity is a transverse wall of internal reinforcement of said first U-shaped section. another finishing section of said assembly or said first-bottom wall.
From this, it emerges that the first finishing section comprising in the first U-shaped section of the cladding elements comprises a second U-shaped section which is fitted inside a first section of a second finishing section so that to provide a threading of finishing profiles one in the other, for example to cover a frame frame or door but also for the case where the consumer would like to have wider siding edges.
Other embodiments of the assembly according to the invention are indicated in the appended claims.

The first
In addition, the distance between said second
In addition, in the finishing profile 1, the
The
In addition, a
