Description

The invention relates to a grave lantern with a bottom, a lid and at least two extending between the bottom and the lid side walls.

Known grave lanterns usually have at least one side wall, which is connected by means of a hinge with a housing of the grave lantern. By unfolding the side wall, the interior of the grave lantern is accessible, for example, to change a candle therein.

From the German Utility Model DE 20 2005 019 709 U1 For example, a grave lantern is known having a bottom, a lid, and three side walls extending between the bottom and the lid, one of the side walls being hinged to the bottom and lid. One of the side walls can thereby be opened and since the side wall is connected by means of a hinge to the bottom and the lid, the side wall is captively received between the bottom and the lid.

From the US patent US 3,154,065 is known a lantern, which has a square floor plan and can be slidable in the glass panes within the frame with a square plan.

From the international publication WO 2008/112379 A1 is a lantern known that has a square floor plan. At the corners of the glass panes are each spaced from each other to allow air to enter the interior of the lantern.

From the German Utility Model DE 200 13 592 U1 a grave lantern with a square plan is known in which one of the side walls can be pulled out of the housing in a sliding guide upwards.

From the US patent publication US 2006/0023460 A1 is a lantern with a triangular base known, in which behind a glass plate designed as a front surface, different, partially translucent decorative elements can be inserted.

From the French patent FR 526 840 is a lantern known, which has a lighting room with a square floor plan. The glass panes delimiting the lighting space can be pulled upwards out of the holder.

With the invention, an improved grave lantern to be provided.

According to the invention a grave lantern with a bottom, a lid and at least two extending between the bottom and the lid side walls is provided for this purpose, in which the bottom and the lid each have at least one sliding guide, wherein the sliding guide on the bottom and the sliding guide on the lid are opposite, wherein at least one of the side walls is slidably disposed in the sliding guides on the bottom or on the lid, and wherein the at least one displaceable side wall is formed as a curved plate and the sliding guides on the ground or on the cover are curved grooves formed in accordance with a radius of curvature of the side wall.

In this way, can be dispensed with the arrangement and formation of a hinge, so that a very simple construction of the grave lantern is achieved. Nevertheless, the interior of the grave lantern is easily accessible. Despite the curved design of the side wall, this can be easily move in the sliding guides on the lid or on the floor. This creates a pleasing shape of the grave lantern and, when forming the side wall as a curved glass plate, the interior of the grave lantern is also very visible.

In a further development of the invention, the sliding guides are formed as grooves in the bottom or in the lid and the at least one side wall is plate-shaped, in particular as a glass plate.

In this way, a safe and low-friction guidance of the side wall in the bottom or in the lid can be achieved. The side walls can be formed in a very simple manner as plates, in particular as glass plates.

In a further development of the invention, a groove bottom of the groove in the bottom is provided with at least one, the bottom completely penetrating drain hole.

In this way it can be prevented, for example, that rainwater or melt water collects in the groove in the soil and then possibly freezes and blocks the displaceable sidewall. Grouts reaching into the groove are also largely flushed out through the drainage holes by means of rainwater which also penetrates into the groove.

In a further development of the invention, the sliding guides on the bottom or on the cover are at least open on one side to the displaceable side wall by means of a sliding movement of the bottom and lid removable and insertable to order.

By these measures, the side wall can be removed in a very simple manner by moving along the grooves and beyond the groove end and replaced, for example. The replacement of the side wall can be made to realize different decors or colors of the sidewall can. In the same way but also the very simple replacement of a defective side wall is possible, which may be particularly important in curved glass plates as sidewalls of importance.

In a further development of the invention, the grave lantern on a triangular cross-section, wherein all three side walls are arranged displaceably in matching sliding guides on the bottom or lid.

Such a design of the grave lantern provides a shapely structure and at the same time the grave lantern is open from all three sides and thus the interior is easily accessible. All three side walls may be formed as curved plates, in particular curved glass plates.

In a further development of the invention, the bottom and the cover are connected by means of at least one spacer.

For example, by connecting floor and lid by means of one or more spacers, the sidewalls need not perform a supporting function and can thereby be slidably disposed. Spacers can be dispensed with if, for example, at least one side wall assumes a supporting function as a spacer. In the case of a triangular cross-section of the grave lantern, in each case a column-shaped spacer is advantageously arranged in the corner region of the bottom and the lid.

In a further development of the invention, the bottom and the lid are each formed as one-piece castings.

In this way, bottom and lid can be produced easily even with complicated shape.

The presentation of the Fig. 1 shows a grave lantern 10 according to the invention, which has a triangular bottom 12 and a triangular lid 14. The side edges of the bottom 12 and the lid 14 are each curved outwardly. The side edges of the bottom 12 and the lid 14 are all the same length.

The bottom 12 and the cover 14 are connected by means of three rod-shaped spacers 16, which are respectively arranged in the corner regions of the bottom 12 and the lid 14. The spacers 16 are connected to the floor 12 from an underside of the floor with bolts threaded through the floor. On an underside of the lid 14 projecting threaded bolts are provided in the direction of the bottom 12, to which the rod-shaped spacers 16 are screwed. By the spacers 16, the bottom 12 and the lid 14 are arranged at a fixed distance from each other.

The grave lantern 10 has three side walls 20 which are each formed as outwardly curved glass plates. The side walls 20 are received in both the bottom 12 and in the lid 14 in curved grooves 22, 24, wherein the grooves 22, 24 in both the bottom 12 and in the lid 14 immediately behind a respective outer edge of the Floor 12 and the lid 14 are arranged. A radius of curvature of the curved grooves 22, 24 corresponds to a radius of curvature of the side walls 20. As a result, the side walls 20 can be accurately inserted into the grooves 22, 24. As has already been explained with reference to the cover 14, in each case only one groove 22 breaks through a respective side edge of the cover 14.

At the meeting point of the spokes 32 a triangular recess 34 is formed. In the recess 35, for example, a candle holder can be used. However, the recess 35 can also receive a suitably designed bolt head to anchor such a bolt against rotation on the floor 12. The in Fig. 4 shown protrusion 30 is in the state of Fig. 6 not mounted.

Claims (8)

1. A grave lantern comprising a bottom (12), a cover (14) and at least two side walls (20) extending between the bottom (12) and the cover (14), characterised in that the bottom (12) and the cover (14) each include at least one sliding guidance, the sliding guidance at the bottom (12) being opposite to the sliding guidance at the cover (14), in that at least one of the side walls (20) is arranged displaceably in the sliding guidances at the bottom (12) and the cover (14), respectively, and in that the at least one displaceable side wall (20) is a curved plate, and the sliding guidances at the bottom (12) and the cover (14), respectively, are curved grooves (22, 24) corresponding to a radius of curvature of the side wall (20).
2. The grave lantern according to claim 1, characterised in that the sliding guidances are grooves (22, 24) in the bottom (12) and the cover (14), respectively, and in that the at least one side wall (20) is plate-shaped, in particular a glass plate.
3. The grave lantern according to claim 2, characterised in that a groove bottom of the groove (22) in the bottom (12) is provided with at least one drain hole (26) traversing the bottom (12) completely.

The grave lantern according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the sliding guidances at the bottom (12) and the cover (14), respectively, are open at least on one side, to arrange the displaceable side wall (20) to be removable from and insertable into the bottom (12) and cover (14) by means of a sliding movement.
5. The grave lantern according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the grave lantern (10) has a triangular cross section, with all of the three side walls (20) being arranged displaceably in matching sliding guidances at the bottom (12) and the cover (14), respectively.
6. The grave lantern according to claim 5, characterised in that all of the three side walls (20) are curved plates.
7. The grave lantern according to claim 5 or 6, characterised in that the bottom (12) and the cover (14) are connected by means of at least one spacer (16).
8. The grave lantern according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that each of the bottom (12) and the cover (14) are one-piece cast parts.
