- A device for supporting and attaching a construction accessory (9), such as a gutter hook, to a roof covering, the support device comprising a part forming a hook holder (3) and a U-shaped clamp (2) whereof the branches (4,5) form, with the hook holder-forming part (3), a single-piece assembly and which can be slipped on an edge (B) of the roof cover and fastened to this edge, characterized in that the branches (4,5) of the U of the clamp (2) are rectilinear and parallel in cross-section, of equal length and able to resiliently grip the edge (B) of the roof cover under the action of the clamping force exerted on the branches (4,5) by the bend (10) connecting these branches to one another after forcible engagement of this edge between the branches (4, 5) of the clamp (2), whereof at least one of the branches (4, 5) bears on the corresponding face of the edge (B) of the roof cover by means of a flat shim (12) interposed between the face of this edge and the inner face of the branch to which the inner face [of] the shim (12) is attached.
- The support and attaching device according to claim 4, characterized in that the flat shim includes, at its face opposite the branch to which it is attached, a means for retaining the flat shim (12) at the edge (B) of the roof cover.
- The support and attaching device according to claim 5, characterized in that the retaining means is a glue with micro-capsules breaking under the mechanical force of inserting the clamp on the edge of the roof cover to cause a polymerization reaction sealing the flat shim (12) to the edge of the roof cover by gluing.
- The support and attaching device according to claim 5, characterized in that the retaining means comprises furrows or notches (13) formed on the inner face of the flat shim (12).
- The support and attaching device according to one of claims 4 to 7, characterized in that the two branches (4, 5) of the yoke (2) respectively bear on the upper and lower faces of the edge (B) of the roof cover by means of two flat shims (12) interposed between the two branches (4, 5) and the upper and lower faces of this edge while being attached to the inner faces of the two branches (4, 5) before forcible engagement of the edge (B) between the two branches (4, 5), the two flat shims (12) having a U shape marrying the shape of the clamp (2).
- The support and attaching device according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that each branch (4,5) of the clamp (2) is substantially omega-shaped in cross-section.
- The support and attaching device according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the bend (10) connecting the two branches (4,5) of the clamp (2) can serve as means for pushing by a tool, such as a hammer, to introduce the edge (B) of the roof cover between these two branches.
- The support and attaching device according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the clamp (2) can be attached to a rim of an undulating plate or of a steel tray making up the roof cover.

- The support and attaching device according to one of claims 4 to 12, characterized in that each shim (12) is in cartridge form slipped on the corresponding branch (4, 5) of the clamp (2).
- A method for mounting a support and attaching device as defined in one of claims 1-3 to a roof cover, characterized in that it consists of forcibly fitting the two parallel, single-piece branches (4, 5) of the clamp (2) on the edge (B) of the roof cover by a pushing force exerted on the bend (10) of the two branches (4, 5) using a tool, such as a hammer, in such a way that the two branches (4, 5) resiliently and directly grip the edge (B) with their inner faces respectively in contact on the upper and lower faces of this edge.
- A method for mounting a support and attaching device, as defined in one of claims 4-13, to a roof cover, characterized in that it consists of forcibly fitting the two parallel, single-piece branches (4, 5) of the clamp (2), at least one of which is provided with a flat shim (12), on the edge (B) of the roof cover using a pushing force exerted on the bend (10) connecting the two branches (4, 5) using a tool, such as a hammer, so as to grip the corresponding part of the edge (B) between the flat shim (12) and the opposite branch of the clamp (2) .
