Abstract

An outdoor unit (10) for an air conditioner having a compressor (30A, 30B) disposed on a bottom plate (12) of a housing (11), a heat exchanger (21) that has tube plates (21A) at both the ends thereof and is designed to be substantially U-shaped in section and disposed on the bottom plate along three surfaces of a back surface side and both side surface sides of the housing, and air blower (22) disposed above the heat exchanger, wherein is designed so that the length in a depth direction located at both the side surface sides of the housing is set to be longer than the length in a width direction located at the back surface side of the housing, and the compressor is disposed at the front surface side of the housing (11).
