Definitions
- the invention relates to a packaging film, in particular for producing a packaging, having at least one packaging film section, the packaging film section comprising a single-layer or multi-layered substrate and a printed functional layer formed of a printable material and at least partially forming an outer layer of the packaging film section is designed to have antimicrobial and / or oxygen scavenging properties.
- the invention relates to a packaging, in particular a food packaging or a pharmaceutical packaging as well as a packaging product unit, comprising at least one product packed in a packaging.
- the first principle of operation is characterized by the fact that the antimicrobial agents and inhibitors integrated in the layer are volatile and are released over time from a Materixmaterial of the layer, whereby the antimicrobial effect not only in the close range of the coated Surface but in the entire packaging volume arises.
- the second functional principle is characterized in that the antimicrobial active substances and inhibitors in the functional layer are spatially fixed in such a way that they can not escape from the carrier layer independently.
- the antimicrobial effect unfolds in such functional layers only by a direct contact of the packaged goods with the antimicrobially coated surface.
- the WO 2006/133754 A1 describes an advanced method by which a technical surface can be made with an antimicrobial agent releasing layer.
- a solution of polyvinyl acetate, a preservative and a solvent is applied to the technical surface and dried on the technical surface to form the antimicrobial layer.
- oxygen scavengers In addition to the functional layers with antimicrobial action described above, functional layers are known in which chemical compounds are integrated, which absorb oxygen and permanently bind chemically. Such chemical compounds are referred to as oxygen scavengers. Often the function of these scavengers is to create and maintain an oxygen-free atmosphere in the package to ensure extended shelf life of the package. For this purpose, the direct connections on the one hand remove the remaining oxygen, which is located in the packaging space, as quickly as possible, on the other hand provide the Compounds, if incorporated into the outer packaging material, provide an active barrier to oxygen migrating from outside into the packaging.
- the WO 2007/051860 A1 now describes a novel paint material having an oxygen scavenging property.
- This comprises a matrix consisting of organic polymers and at least one component that is reactive to oxygen after appropriate triggering.
- the functional layers described above have proven particularly useful in food packaging and pharmaceutical packaging.
- the functional layer in addition to its antimicrobial and / or oxygen-absorbing property, would have to be sealable in order to be able to seal the packaged goods moisture and / or airtight.
- non-sealable functional layers there would only be the possibility of covering them over the entire surface with a sealable layer, whereby, however, the immediate packaging material contact would be lost and the functional effect of the functional layer would be at least reduced.
- the invention is therefore based on the object of proposing a packaging film with a packaging film section, comprising an antimicrobial and / or oxygen scavenging property having functional layer, at least partially forms an outer layer of the packaging film and yet does not have to be sealable.
- the packaging has at least one formed according to the concept of the invention packaging film.
- the object is achieved in that at least one product (packaged goods) is accommodated in a packaging which has at least one packaging film formed according to the concept of the invention.
- the invention is based on the idea, in the event that the functional layer of the packaging film section only partially forms an outer layer of the packaging film section, i. only partially in relation to its surface extent to the outer side of the packaging film section, this, an outer layer of the packaging film section forming portion of the functional layer, at least partially, preferably completely, to be arranged in an area on the outer side (outer surface) of the packaging film portion of an annular, ie enclosed around the section surrounding sealing surface.
- the entire functional layer extends to the outside of the packaging section, i.
- the functional layer in the event that the functional layer completely forms an outer layer of the packaging film section, it is provided in a packaging film formed according to the concept of the invention, to arrange the functional layer, at least partially, preferably completely in a region which is on the outside (outer surface) of the packaging film section of an annular, ie is enclosed around the area surrounding sealing surface.
- the invention it is the essence of the invention to form the outer surface of the packaging film portion only in part by means of the entire functional layer or by means of a portion of the functional layer and to form at least a portion of the outer surface of the packaging film portion with an annular sealing surface arranged in such a way in that it completely surrounds the section of the functional layer or the functional layer, ie encloses it.
- the sealing surface is preferred formed by a sealable, in particular heat-sealable material which forms in a finished, with the aid of a trained according to the concept of the invention packaging packaging, a sealed seam, which seals the packaged, in particular air and / or moisture-proof.
- the packaging film is sealed with itself in the area of the annular sealing surface, for example for producing a bag-shaped packaging, or with another packaging part, in particular another packaging film and thereby the product encloses, wherein the functional layer in this case preferably forms the product (packaged) facing the packaging inside.
- a packaging film designed according to the concept of the invention places substantially lower demands on the properties of the functional layer, since the functional layer itself does not have to be sealed - the sealing function assumes, preferably exclusively, the sealing surface surrounding the functional layer, ie circumferential sealing surface.
- the functional layer is preferably a non-sealable or at least only poorly sealable layer.
- the substrate it is possible for the substrate to consist only of a single layer, for example an aluminum layer.
- the functional layer is printed directly on the single-layer or multi-layer substrate.
- the immediately adjacent to the functional layer layer is a primer layer, which serves as an adhesion promoter, to ensure better retention ofjantagen fĂĽr.
- An adhesion improvement can also be achieved by a corresponding pretreatment of the substrate, for example by a plasma treatment. It is within the scope of the invention to apply the primer layer shortly before the printing of the functional layer and thus to make it part of the substrate for heating the functional layer.
- the outer / outer surface / flat side of the packaging film section has no functional layer in a region outside the annular sealing surface - ie the outer layer of the packaging film section forming the functional layer or the entire functional layer forming an outer layer exclusively in the area enclosed by the annular sealing surface.
- the outer / outer surface / flat side of the packaging film section has no functional layer in a region outside the annular sealing surface - ie the outer layer of the packaging film section forming the functional layer or the entire functional layer forming an outer layer exclusively in the area enclosed by the annular sealing surface.
- the sealing surface is formed by a sealing layer of the substrate, which is partially covered by the functional layer.
- the functional layer of the packaging film section forming an outer layer of the packaging film section is at least partially, preferably completely, in a centric region of the sealing layer so that the sealing layer, viewed from the outside of the packaging film, is only in an annular, the functional layer of the packaging film section enclosing area is visible.
- the functional layer is printed directly on the sealing layer.
- the layer arrangement of the sealing surface and the functional layer is reversed.
- the functional layer is printed on the substrate, preferably on a primer layer of the substrate and the sealing layer is above (offset towards the outside) of the functional layer, so this covers annularly and thereby closes an inner, an outer layer of the packaging film section forming section the functional layer.
- the sealing layer it is also conceivable here for the sealing layer to be applied directly to the functional layer, preferably to be printed.
- an embodiment in which the sealing layer is applied to a suitable primer layer applied to the functional layer for improved adhesion, in particular printed on is particularly preferred.
- both the sealing layer and the functional layer are applied to the substrate, preferably to a corresponding adhesion promoter-primer layer.
- the functional layer can be applied in an inner region and, with a second pressure roller, the annular sealing surface around the functional layer.
- the functional and the sealing layers do not overlap, at least substantially, if necessary, they run somewhat into one another, but can also have an intermediate, pressure-free gap.
- the entire functional layer ie the functional layer over its entire areal extent
- the functional layer or of the portion of the functional layer within the annular sealing surface there are in turn several possibilities.
- the functional layer only in at least one area within the sealing surface, wherein the functional layer can be applied, for example, as a pattern, preferably as a regular pattern.
- the functional layer or the section of the functional layer is formed from a plurality of adjacently arranged layer subsections, wherein at least two layer subsections of the functional layer or the section of the functional layer have a different function.
- antimicrobial layer sections and oxygen-catching layer sections can be arranged like a checkerboard within the annular sealing surface.
- the material forming the functional layer is, for example, a printable material that can be applied by means of at least one printing process, in particular to the substrate and / or a sealing layer.
- a printable material that can be applied by means of at least one printing process, in particular to the substrate and / or a sealing layer.
- This can be formed, for example when using digital printing powdered in the manner of a toner for laser printers.
- a liquid embodiment of the material is particularly preferred, so that the material can be applied to the substrate, for example by roller printing, flexographic printing, inkjet printing, gravure printing or else by a suitably designed digital printing method.
- the functional layer can also be applied, for example, by application, such as doctoring, brushing, brushing, spraying or pouring.
- the substrate is either formed as a barrier layer or has a barrier layer.
- the barrier layer is preferably a layer which is effective with regard to avoiding oxygen diffusion in order to prevent the penetration of oxygen, such as oxygen from the ambient air, into the packaging or through the substrate into the functional layer.
- Particularly suitable here is to form the barrier layer of aluminum or an aluminum alloy or to use a barrier layer that is at least aluminum-containing.
- Substrates having a barrier layer may be, for example, films comprising at least one layer or film of polyvinyl chloride, of ethylene vinyl alcohol or containing at least one metallic layer or a vacuum deposited layer of silicon oxides or aluminum oxides.

Description
The invention relates to a packaging film, in particular for producing a packaging, having at least one packaging film section, the packaging film section comprising a single-layer or multi-layered substrate and a printed functional layer formed of a printable material and at least partially forming an outer layer of the packaging film section is designed to have antimicrobial and / or oxygen scavenging properties.
Furthermore, the invention relates to a packaging, in particular a food packaging or a pharmaceutical packaging as well as a packaging product unit, comprising at least one product packed in a packaging.
The first principle of operation is characterized by the fact that the antimicrobial agents and inhibitors integrated in the layer are volatile and are released over time from a Materixmaterial of the layer, whereby the antimicrobial effect not only in the close range of the coated Surface but in the entire packaging volume arises.
The second functional principle is characterized in that the antimicrobial active substances and inhibitors in the functional layer are spatially fixed in such a way that they can not escape from the carrier layer independently. The antimicrobial effect unfolds in such functional layers only by a direct contact of the packaged goods with the antimicrobially coated surface.
In addition to the functional layers with antimicrobial action described above, functional layers are known in which chemical compounds are integrated, which absorb oxygen and permanently bind chemically.
The functional layers described above (antimicrobial layers / oxygen-absorbing layers) have proven particularly useful in food packaging and pharmaceutical packaging. However, difficulties often arise in the integration of such functional layers in packaging material, in particular when the functional layer, in order to achieve the desired effect, must have direct contact with the packaged product and / or the packaging volume. In order to be able to realize this, the functional layer, in addition to its antimicrobial and / or oxygen-absorbing property, would have to be sealable in order to be able to seal the packaged goods moisture and / or airtight. In the case of non-sealable functional layers, there would only be the possibility of covering them over the entire surface with a sealable layer, whereby, however, the immediate packaging material contact would be lost and the functional effect of the functional layer would be at least reduced.
The invention is therefore based on the object of proposing a packaging film with a packaging film section, comprising an antimicrobial and / or oxygen scavenging property having functional layer, at least partially forms an outer layer of the packaging film and yet does not have to be sealable.
This object is achieved in the case of a previously described packaging film in that the outer layer of the packaging film section, forming section of the antimicrobial and / or oxygen-scavenging functional layer, or the entire functional layer forming an outer layer of the packaging film section on the outside of the packaging film section, at least in sections, is arranged in a region enclosed by an annular sealing surface area. In this case, under an annular sealing surface, an area circumferential around the area forming the outer layer of the packaging film section or the functional layer forming an outer layer of the packaging film section is circumferential, that is to say in the circumferential direction. To understand endless, sealing surface whose shape is not limited to a specific geometric shape. Thus, under an annular sealing surface in addition to an annular sealing surface and all other geometric shapes, such as rectangular or square, or oval ring shapes to understand.
With respect to the packaging, the object is achieved in that the packaging has at least one formed according to the concept of the invention packaging film.
With regard to the packaging product unit, the object is achieved in that at least one product (packaged goods) is accommodated in a packaging which has at least one packaging film formed according to the concept of the invention.
The invention is based on the idea, in the event that the functional layer of the packaging film section only partially forms an outer layer of the packaging film section, i. only partially in relation to its surface extent to the outer side of the packaging film section, this, an outer layer of the packaging film section forming portion of the functional layer, at least partially, preferably completely, to be arranged in an area on the outer side (outer surface) of the packaging film portion of an annular, ie enclosed around the section surrounding sealing surface. In the event that (based on their areal extent), the entire functional layer extends to the outside of the packaging section, i. in the event that the functional layer completely forms an outer layer of the packaging film section, it is provided in a packaging film formed according to the concept of the invention, to arrange the functional layer, at least partially, preferably completely in a region which is on the outside (outer surface) of the packaging film section of an annular, ie is enclosed around the area surrounding sealing surface.
In other words, it is the essence of the invention to form the outer surface of the packaging film portion only in part by means of the entire functional layer or by means of a portion of the functional layer and to form at least a portion of the outer surface of the packaging film portion with an annular sealing surface arranged in such a way in that it completely surrounds the section of the functional layer or the functional layer, ie encloses it. The sealing surface is preferred formed by a sealable, in particular heat-sealable material which forms in a finished, with the aid of a trained according to the concept of the invention packaging packaging, a sealed seam, which seals the packaged, in particular air and / or moisture-proof. It is within the scope of the invention, as will be explained later, that the packaging film is sealed with itself in the area of the annular sealing surface, for example for producing a bag-shaped packaging, or with another packaging part, in particular another packaging film and thereby the product encloses, wherein the functional layer in this case preferably forms the product (packaged) facing the packaging inside. A packaging film designed according to the concept of the invention places substantially lower demands on the properties of the functional layer, since the functional layer itself does not have to be sealed - the sealing function assumes, preferably exclusively, the sealing surface surrounding the functional layer, ie circumferential sealing surface. The functional layer is preferably a non-sealable or at least only poorly sealable layer.
With regard to the formation of the single-layered or multilayered substrate and the arrangement of the functional layer relative to the substrate, there are various possibilities. For example, it is possible for the substrate to consist only of a single layer, for example an aluminum layer. Alternatively, it is possible to provide as a substrate a multilayered substrate composed of different functional layers. Preferably, the functional layer is printed directly on the single-layer or multi-layer substrate. in case of a multi-layered substrate, an embodiment is preferred in which the immediately adjacent to the functional layer layer is a primer layer, which serves as an adhesion promoter, to ensure better retention of Funktionsweiseschicht. An adhesion improvement can also be achieved by a corresponding pretreatment of the substrate, for example by a plasma treatment. It is within the scope of the invention to apply the primer layer shortly before the printing of the functional layer and thus to make it part of the substrate for heating the functional layer.
In a development of the invention, it is advantageously provided that the outer / outer surface / flat side of the packaging film section has no functional layer in a region outside the annular sealing surface - ie the outer layer of the packaging film section forming the functional layer or the entire functional layer forming an outer layer exclusively in the area enclosed by the annular sealing surface. In the case of a packaging film which consists exclusively of a single packaging film section, it is advantageous if no functional layer is provided on the entire outside / outside surface of the packaging film in an area outside the area enclosed by the sealing surface, since this, in particular non-sealable, functional layer would be located outside the actual product space.
With regard to the relative arrangement between sealing surface and functional layer, there are different possibilities.
For example, it is possible that the sealing surface is formed by a sealing layer of the substrate, which is partially covered by the functional layer. In other words, the functional layer of the packaging film section forming an outer layer of the packaging film section is at least partially, preferably completely, in a centric region of the sealing layer so that the sealing layer, viewed from the outside of the packaging film, is only in an annular, the functional layer of the packaging film section enclosing area is visible. It is possible that the functional layer is printed directly on the sealing layer. Alternatively, it is possible to provide between the functional layer and the sealing layer at least one further, preferably only one further, layer, preferably a primer layer, as adhesion promoter.
In an alternative embodiment, the layer arrangement of the sealing surface and the functional layer is reversed. In this case, the functional layer is printed on the substrate, preferably on a primer layer of the substrate and the sealing layer is above (offset towards the outside) of the functional layer, so this covers annularly and thereby closes an inner, an outer layer of the packaging film section forming section the functional layer. It is also conceivable here for the sealing layer to be applied directly to the functional layer, preferably to be printed. However, an embodiment in which the sealing layer is applied to a suitable primer layer applied to the functional layer for improved adhesion, in particular printed on, is particularly preferred. Likewise, an embodiment can be realized in which both the sealing layer and the functional layer are applied to the substrate, preferably to a corresponding adhesion promoter-primer layer. In this case, for example, with a first pressure roller, the functional layer can be applied in an inner region and, with a second pressure roller, the annular sealing surface around the functional layer. In this case, the functional and the sealing layers do not overlap, at least substantially, if necessary, they run somewhat into one another, but can also have an intermediate, pressure-free gap. The entire functional layer (ie the functional layer over its entire areal extent) thus forms an outer layer of the packaging film section. For applying the sealing layer and the functional layer, it may be advantageous to cure the first applied layer (sealing layer or functional layer) at least partially, for example by heat or irradiation, before applying the subsequently applied layer (functional layer or sealing layer).
With regard to the geometric arrangement of the functional layer or of the portion of the functional layer within the annular sealing surface, there are in turn several possibilities. Thus, it is possible to provide a large-area arrangement of the functional layer or a portion of the functional layer and thus the largest possible contact surface, the functional layer or the portion of the functional layer within the annular sealing surface over the entire surface, preferably such that the entire of the annular sealing surface enclosed area is filled by the functional layer. alternative it is possible to arrange the functional layer only in at least one area within the sealing surface, wherein the functional layer can be applied, for example, as a pattern, preferably as a regular pattern.
It is also possible to implement an embodiment in which the functional layer or the section of the functional layer is formed from a plurality of adjacently arranged layer subsections, wherein at least two layer subsections of the functional layer or the section of the functional layer have a different function. For example, antimicrobial layer sections and oxygen-catching layer sections can be arranged like a checkerboard within the annular sealing surface.
As explained at the outset, the material forming the functional layer (in particular material composition) is, for example, a printable material that can be applied by means of at least one printing process, in particular to the substrate and / or a sealing layer. This can be formed, for example when using digital printing powdered in the manner of a toner for laser printers. However, a liquid embodiment of the material is particularly preferred, so that the material can be applied to the substrate, for example by roller printing, flexographic printing, inkjet printing, gravure printing or else by a suitably designed digital printing method. The functional layer can also be applied, for example, by application, such as doctoring, brushing, brushing, spraying or pouring.
In a further development of the invention is advantageously provided that the substrate is either formed as a barrier layer or has a barrier layer. The barrier layer is preferably a layer which is effective with regard to avoiding oxygen diffusion in order to prevent the penetration of oxygen, such as oxygen from the ambient air, into the packaging or through the substrate into the functional layer. Particularly suitable here is to form the barrier layer of aluminum or an aluminum alloy or to use a barrier layer that is at least aluminum-containing.
Substrates having a barrier layer may be, for example, films comprising at least one layer or film of polyvinyl chloride, of ethylene vinyl alcohol or containing at least one metallic layer or a vacuum deposited layer of silicon oxides or aluminum oxides. With regard to the antimicrobial effect, a barrier layer in the substrate is less critical and can occasionally be omitted.
The functional layer may contain, for example, antioxidants which oxidize the same to trap oxygen. Other substances are oxygen adsorbers, which bind oxygen by physical trapping. Other modes of action are oxygen scavengers that chemically oxidize the oxygen tie. Other options include catalytic reactions where oxygen is at least one of the reactants.
As indicated at the outset, an embodiment of the packaging film can be realized in which it has only a single, previously described packaging film section or is formed by only a single packaging film section described above. This is particularly advantageous if the package has only a single Packgutraum. Alternatively, the packaging film comprises a plurality of previously described packaging film sections, in particular in the transverse direction or in the longitudinal direction of the packaging film, wherein preferably at least two packaging film sections have an annular sealing surface, wherein preferably each annular sealing surface surrounds a portion of the functional layer on the outside of the packaging film. It is possible and desirable for many applications that adjacent sealing surfaces merge into each other or form a common sealing surface, wherein within the common sealing surface then a plurality of spaced-apart functional layer portions of the packaging film are arranged, which are enclosed by the common sealing surface. Preferably, the packaging film is separated from a large-area packaging film, for example by cutting or punching, wherein the large-area packaging film can be stacked for example in sheets or rolled up on a roll.
The invention also leads to a packaging, in particular a food packaging or a pharmaceutical packaging, in particular for a medicament. The packaging is characterized in that it comprises at least one formed according to the concept of the invention packaging film or is formed from such a packaging film. In the simplest case, the package consists of a single packaging film having a single, previously described packaging film portion, the annular sealing surface of which is sealed to itself to form a bag-shaped package.
In a development of the invention, it is advantageously provided that the functional layer forming an outer layer of the packaging film forms the inner side of the packaging, that is to say it faces the packaged packaged goods.
Particularly preferred is an embodiment of the package as a blister pack, wherein the blister pack comprises a bottom film having cavities and a cover film. In this case, it is possible to form the bottom film and / or the cover film as a packaging film designed according to the concept of the invention. In this case, the functional layer or a section of the functional layer of a packaging film section of the packaging film preferably forms a section of the inside of a closed cavity.
The invention also leads to a packaging product unit, which has at least one product (packaged goods) packed in a previously described packaging. The outer functional layer is directed to the packaging against the interior and thus against the contents (Packgut). In this case, an embodiment in which the functional layer of a packaging film section of the packaging film is in direct contact with is particularly preferred the packaged product, in particular in order to develop its antimicrobial effect optimally.
