Die Abstandshalter liegen an den Innenwänden des Außenbehälters sowie an dem Aufnahmeelement oder dem Fahrradrahmen selbst an, so dass der Fahrradrahmen in einem Abstand zu den Innenwänden des Außenbehälters gehalten ist. Insbesondere beträgt der Abstand mindestens einen Zentimeter. Bezogen auf den Außenbehälter schwebt der Fahrradrahmen somit innerhalb des Kartons. Insbesondere ist durch eine vorzugsweise definierte Anordnung des Fahrradrahmens an dem Aufnahmeelement auch sichergestellt, dass kein Beschädigen des Fahrradrahmens durch Verpackungsfehler auftritt. Dies kann beim unsachgemäßen Einschlagen des Fahrradrahmens durch Luftpolsterfolie erfolgen. Ebenso ist es möglich, dass die Größe des Außenkarton somit für eine Vielzahl unterschiedlicher Rahmen geeignet ist, da hierin stets das selbe Aufnahmeelement angeordnet wird. Ggf. ist eine geringe Anzahl unterschiedlicher Aufnahmeelemente vorgesehen, so dass jeweils Gruppen an Fahrradrahmen an dem selben Aufnahmeelement fixiert werden können. Vorzugsweise weisen jedoch sämtliche Aufnahmeelemente die selben Außenabmessung auf, so dass diese in dem selben Außenkarton angeordnet werden können. Auf der gegenüberliegenden Seite steht das Fixierelement vorzugsweise soweit gegenüber dem Aufnahmeelement vor, dass es in verpacktem Zustand an einer Innenseite des Außenkartons anliegt. Das Fixierelement dient somit gleichzeitig als Abstandshalter und insbesondere zur Versteifung. Auf den Karton beim Transport wirkende Schläge oder dergleichen werden somit abgefangen. Hierbei kann die Diebstahlsicherung verblompt sein, so dass ein Öffnen des Kartons nicht ohne Zerstörung der Plombe erfolgen kann.
