Claims (15)
- An apparatus for sealing an expansion joint (28) between exterior wall portions or interior wall portions (27) having an upper plaster layer (29), in particular facades, having a section strip (1) composed of plastic and two section rails (18, 18', 18", 31) which can be fixed in the region of the margins of the expansion joint (28) and which can be inserted into the section strip (1), wherein the section strip (1) includes a soft middle part (3) and hard side parts (4) fastened at both sides thereof, wherein the middle part (3) includes a middle portion (17) extending between the two side parts (4) and two side portions (16) extending thereat, wherein a respective free end of a side portion (16) is connected to a side part (4) of the section strip (1), and wherein each side part (4) includes a guide passage (5) which extends along and substantially perpendicular to a front side (6) of the section strip (1), which has an elongate cross-section which is open towards a rear side (7) of the section strip (1) and is designed for receiving a limb (21) of the section rail (18, 18', 18", 31), wherein furthermore a holding portion (10) is provided in the guide passage (5) and a holding element (22, 22') cooperating with the holding portion (10) is provided at the limb (21) of the section rail (18, 18', 18", 31), wherein the holding portion (10) and the holding element (22, 22') form an undercut by which a movement of the holding element (22, 22') in the direction towards the rear side (7) of the section strip (1) is bounded or prevented,
characterised in that
the side portions (16) of the middle part (3) each have an inwardly directed arcuate section in the non-deformed state of the section strip (1); and/or in that the middle portion (17) of the middle part (3) has a slightly inwardly directed arcuate section in the non-deformed state of the section strip (1). - An apparatus in accordance with claim 1,
characterised in that
the spacing between the holding portion (10) and an interior wall (26) bounding the guide passage (5) towards the front side (6) of the section strip (1) is substantially the same size as the spacing between a region of the holding element (22, 22') cooperating with the holding portion (10) and an end (25) of the limb (21) of the section rail (18, 31) facing towards the front side (6) of the section strip (1). - An apparatus in accordance with claim 1 or claim 2,
characterised in that
the section rail (18, 18', 18", 31) has an L-shaped cross-section. - An apparatus in accordance with at least one of the preceding claims,
characterised in that
the holding element (22) is formed as a bent-over portion of the free end of the limb (21) of the section rail (18, 18', 18"), with the portion in particular being bent over by approximately 180° with respect to the limb (21) of the section rail (18, 18', 18"). - An apparatus in accordance with at least one of the claims 1 to 3,
characterised in that
the holding element (22') is formed as a projection (32) moulded to the limb (21) of the section rail (31). - An apparatus in accordance with at least one of the preceding claims,
characterised in that
the holding element (22, 22') includes a contact surface (23) facing towards the rear side (7) of the section strip (1) and in particular extending in parallel to the front side (6) of the section strip (1); and/or
in that the holding portion (10) includes a contact surface (13) facing towards the front side (6) of the section strip (1) and in particular extending in parallel thereto; and/or
in that the holding element (22, 22') and the holding portion (10) contact one another. - An apparatus in accordance with at least one of the preceding claims,
characterised in that
the holding portion (10) includes a run-on chamfer (12) facing towards the rear side (7) of the section strip (1); and/or
in that the holding element (22, 22') includes a run-on chamfer (33) facing towards the front side (6) of the section strip (1). - An apparatus in accordance with at least one of the preceding claims,
characterised in that
the width of the part of the section rail (18, 18', 18", 31) arranged in the guide passage (5) substantially corresponds to the width of the guide passage (5). - An apparatus in accordance with at least one of the preceding claims,
characterised in that
a plurality of holding elements (22') are provided at the section rail (31). - An apparatus in accordance with at least one of the preceding claims,
characterised in that
the connection between the middle part (3) and the side part (4) is respectively provided at a part of the side part (4) disposed towards the rear side (7) of the section strip (1); and/or
in that the connection between the middle part (3) and the side part (4) is formed as a dove-tail connection. - An apparatus in accordance with at least one of the preceding claims,

the middle part (3) is not connected to the side parts (4) at its part disposed towards the front side (6) of the section strip (1). - An apparatus in accordance with at least one of the preceding claims,

the middle part (3) is composed of soft plastic, in particular of soft PVC. - An apparatus in accordance with at least one of the preceding claims,
characterised in that
the side parts (4) are composed of hard plastic, in particular of hard PVC. - An apparatus in accordance with at least one of the preceding claims,
