Abstract

A stationary exerciser includes two handles pivotally coupled to a column of a base, two foot supports each having a front portion coupled to the handles and moveable in a reciprocating action relative to the base and a rear portion coupled to a post of the base with two cranks, two links pivotally coupled between the cranks and the rear portions of the foot supports for allowing the rear portions of the foot supports to be swung relative to the cranks and the base, and a connecting device may connect the foot supports to the cranks for determining a movement of the foot supports relative to the base, and may adjust the moving strokes of the rear portions of the foot supports.

Description

  • The present invention relates to a stationary exerciser.
  • Typical exercisers comprise two foot supports movable cyclically. However, the foot supports may not be moved in different moving strokes or elliptically.
  • The invention is to provide an exerciser having a rear portion movable in different moving strokes or elliptically.
    • FIGS. 1, 2 are perspective views of a stationary exerciser;
    • FIG. 3 is a side plan view of the stationary exerciser;
    • FIGS. 4, 5 are exploded views of the stationary exerciser; and
    • FIGS. 6, 7, 8 are side plan views of the stationary exerciser.
  • Referring to FIGS. 1-5, a stationary exerciser 1 comprises a column 11 extended from a base 10 for supporting a spindle 12, two handles 20 each include an upper or middle portion 21 attached to the spindle 12 with a barrel 22, a hand grip 23 and an arm 24 extended from the upper or middle portion 21. Two foot supports 30 each include a front portion 31 coupled to the arm 24 with a coupling means or device 40 which includes a stem 41 having an upper end 42 coupled to the free end of each arm 24 with a pin 43 and having a lower end 44 coupled to the front portion 31 of the foot support 30. A connector 32 includes one end 33 coupled to the middle or lower portion of the foot support 30, and the other end 34 coupled to the lower portion 25 of the handle 20 with a joint 26. The connector 32 may maintain the arm 24 at the forwardly extended position and may prevent the arm 24 from being dependent downwardly, the connector 32 may be disposed beside and parallel to the foot support 30 which may include an opening (not shown) for receiving the other end 34 of the connector 32.
  • Two cranks 50 are attached to a post 13 at the rear portion 14 of the base 10 with an axle 15, and each include a rod 51 spaced from the axle 15 for allowing the foot supports 30 to be moved relative to the base 10 in an elliptical moving stroke. The foot supports 30 each include a foot pedal 37 for being stepped in the elliptical moving stroke by the users. The one ends 33 of the connectors 32 may be coupled to the foot pedals 37 which may be coupled to the foot supports 30 with poles 38 that are provided on the middle portions 39 of the foot supports 30. A wheel 60 is attached to the axle 15, a rotary member 61 is attached to the post 13 or the middle or rear portion 14 of the base 10 with a shaft 62 and coupled to the wheel 60 with a coupling belt or device 63
  • The cranks 50 each include a rod 54 secured between two crank segments 53 which are parallel but offset from each other. Two connecting means or devices 70 are coupled between the foot supports 30 and the cranks 50 and each include a lever 71 having an upper end 72 coupled to the post 13 or the rear portion 14 of the base 10 with a shaft 16, and a lower end 73 coupled to the middle portion 39 of the foot supports 30 with beams 74, and having a middle portion 75 coupled to the rods 54 of the cranks 50 with bars 55. The levers 71 each include one or more orifices 76 formed in the middle portion 75 and communicating with each other, and a fastener 77 may force the bars 55 to engage with either of the orifices 76 of the levers 71 and to adjustably secure the foot support 30 to the cranks 50 and for adjusting the moving stroke of the foot support 30.
