Abstract
A stationary exerciser includes two handles pivotally coupled to a column of a base, two foot supports each having a front portion coupled to the handles and moveable in a reciprocating action relative to the base and a rear portion coupled to a post of the base with two cranks, two links pivotally coupled between the cranks and the rear portions of the foot supports for allowing the rear portions of the foot supports to be swung relative to the cranks and the base, and a connecting device may connect the foot supports to the cranks for determining a movement of the foot supports relative to the base, and may adjust the moving strokes of the rear portions of the foot supports.
Description
- The present invention relates to a stationary exerciser.
- Typical exercisers comprise two foot supports movable cyclically. However, the foot supports may not be moved in different moving strokes or elliptically.
- The invention is to provide an exerciser having a rear portion movable in different moving strokes or elliptically.
-
FIGS. 1 ,2 are perspective views of a stationary exerciser; -
FIG. 3 is a side plan view of the stationary exerciser; -
FIGS. 4 ,5 are exploded views of the stationary exerciser; and -
FIGS. 6, 7, 8 are side plan views of the stationary exerciser. - Referring to
FIGS. 1-5 , a stationary exerciser 1 comprises acolumn 11 extended from abase 10 for supporting aspindle 12, twohandles 20 each include an upper ormiddle portion 21 attached to thespindle 12 with abarrel 22, ahand grip 23 and anarm 24 extended from the upper ormiddle portion 21. Two foot supports 30 each include afront portion 31 coupled to thearm 24 with a coupling means ordevice 40 which includes astem 41 having anupper end 42 coupled to the free end of eacharm 24 with apin 43 and having alower end 44 coupled to thefront portion 31 of thefoot support 30. Aconnector 32 includes oneend 33 coupled to the middle or lower portion of thefoot support 30, and theother end 34 coupled to thelower portion 25 of thehandle 20 with ajoint 26. Theconnector 32 may maintain thearm 24 at the forwardly extended position and may prevent thearm 24 from being dependent downwardly, theconnector 32 may be disposed beside and parallel to thefoot support 30 which may include an opening (not shown) for receiving theother end 34 of theconnector 32. - Two
cranks 50 are attached to apost 13 at therear portion 14 of thebase 10 with anaxle 15, and each include arod 51 spaced from theaxle 15 for allowing the foot supports 30 to be moved relative to thebase 10 in an elliptical moving stroke. The foot supports 30 each include afoot pedal 37 for being stepped in the elliptical moving stroke by the users. The one ends 33 of theconnectors 32 may be coupled to thefoot pedals 37 which may be coupled to the foot supports 30 withpoles 38 that are provided on themiddle portions 39 of the foot supports 30. Awheel 60 is attached to theaxle 15, arotary member 61 is attached to thepost 13 or the middle orrear portion 14 of thebase 10 with ashaft 62 and coupled to thewheel 60 with a coupling belt ordevice 63 - The
cranks 50 each include arod 54 secured between twocrank segments 53 which are parallel but offset from each other. Two connecting means ordevices 70 are coupled between the foot supports 30 and thecranks 50 and each include alever 71 having anupper end 72 coupled to thepost 13 or therear portion 14 of thebase 10 with ashaft 16, and alower end 73 coupled to themiddle portion 39 of the foot supports 30 withbeams 74, and having amiddle portion 75 coupled to therods 54 of thecranks 50 withbars 55. Thelevers 71 each include one ormore orifices 76 formed in themiddle portion 75 and communicating with each other, and afastener 77 may force thebars 55 to engage with either of theorifices 76 of thelevers 71 and to adjustably secure thefoot support 30 to thecranks 50 and for adjusting the moving stroke of thefoot support 30.
