Abstract

The method involves detecting an exposed and folded printing plate (21) at a leading end or a trailing end of a folding device by a gripping bar (20). The detected plate is transferred together with the bar to a transporting device in a detected condition. The transferred plate is transported together with the bar in the direction of a printing machine by the transporting device. The plate is removed from the area of the machine together with the bar by the transport device, and the removed plate is provided to a plate cylinder (15) of printing units (11, 12) in the detected condition.
