Description

The invention relates to a shutter box surmounting a joinery, window-door type or the like, and having an inner wall, an upper wall, an outer wall to which is connected a sub-surface closing in the lower part this box comprising a first a box portion attached above said joinery and a second box portion adapted to extend into a reservation provided for this purpose in a masonry over an opening in front of which is intended to be reported, in apply, this carpentry.

The present invention relates to the field of shutters and relates more particularly to the difficulties encountered in the context of the implementation of the box of these shutters in a new construction.

In this regard, various solutions are currently implemented to equip an opening in a construction of a joinery, such as a door or window to which is associated a roller shutter.

Thus, it is quite common to provide in the wall of a building, a simple opening, strictly adapted to the dimensions of the door or window, so that above this opening no special reservation is provided for housing shutter box. In this case the joinery is simply reported in applique on the inner side in front of this opening in the wall, while the casing of the shutter on top of this joinery extends from the internal side to the construction.

The consequence of such an implementation is that this casing of the shutter extends widely and unattractively inside the house. Outside this aesthetic consideration, the presence of this prominent box above the door or window makes particularly restrictive the equipment of the latter of a blind, curtain or the like.

It is still known to overcome the dormant frame of a door or window of a shutter box which, on the internal side of the house is substantially in alignment with the door or window, but extends widely to beyond this, on the external side, that is to say on the side where the joinery is applied against the wall of the building. Two solutions are then possible: the box, coming to extend in this opening in the wall, leads to reduce by the same size of the door or window. The second solution is to provide, in the upper part of this opening, specifically at the lintel, a specific reservation to accommodate the portion of the box extending outwardly beyond the joinery.

This reservation is designed in different ways. Thus, whether by formwork or masonry, above the opening, is reduced, on a height corresponding to the size of the box, the thickness of the masonry so as to design, on the inner side of the wall, a recess corresponding to the desired reservation. The advantage of such a design is that, on the external side, the masonry retains its continuity in front of the casing of the shutter ensuring better aesthetics.

Moreover, in these conditions the width of this reservation for the housing of the shutter box can be strictly adapted to the length thereof.

Nevertheless, in such a design, there are some difficulties to ensure the seal between the masonry and the shutter box.

Thus, a seal may be inserted, with some difficulty, between the front wall of the box and the bottom of the reservation in the masonry. Another solution is to provide this sealing by caulking the peripheral slot, on the internal side to the construction, between the shutter box and the masonry, at the height of the reservation.

In this regard, if it is possible to inject a bead of an insulating material, foam, putty or other, between the masonry and the box, the width of the interstices existing between one and the other does not always allow the establishment of this cord which represents in all cases a long execution operation.

To remedy this problem, it is already known to provide this peripheral seal around the box through an angle bracket whose wing is fixed on the box, especially on the side walls and on the upper face of the latter, while the perpendicular wing of this bracket is provided able to come against the masonry, very often through an interposed joint strip.

Fixing the angle on one or the other wall of the box, very often consists of clipping a wing of the angle in a slot defined by profiling the outside of the box and extending parallel to the level of these walls of said box . This angle is thus pushed into this slot until it comes to apply, through its perpendicular wing, on the masonry. Beforehand we will have taken the precaution of interposed the seal strip of expansive material for sealing. Exactly through its expansive nature this seal strip can push back somewhat the box of the shutter and change its implementation. Based on a simple bonding, this seal can also deteriorate with time.

However, the installation of these angles is not easy and they are able to ensure a certain tightness if the interval between the box and the masonry keeps a reasonable width. In addition, it is quite difficult to pre-equip such angles, the box during the manufacture of the latter, this due to tolerances accepted in the field of construction. In addition, some difficulties arise to seal, by means of such a bracket, at the junction of two angles extending in perpendicular directions relative to each other.

It is also known to design, on the upper face and the side walls of the box recesses through an extra thickness of these walls, in the part of the box does not extend in the reservation of the construction. Such recesses have, again, the function of closing the peripheral gap between the box and the masonry. As for the sealing bead, this solution can only be adopted if there is a relatively precise adjustment between the size of the box and the reservation in the wall of the building.

Another solution for erasing the casing of a roller shutter in a masonry is to replace the masonry lintel surmounting an opening corresponding to a door or window in a wall of a construction, a prefabricated roller shutter box in which can be implemented later the mechanism of this rolling shutter. This box, generally U-shaped structure, is usually adapted to be closed, in the lower part, by means of a sub-face forming access hatch allowing access to this mechanism of the shutter. Moreover, through a design in a material compatible with that of the construction, in this case, very often, wood fibers agglomerated with a hydraulic binder, it can be applied externally to box, a decorative coating in the continuity of that applied on the facade of construction. The document DE-U-200 21 804 describes an example of a box corresponding to this description.

Not only, these prefabricated boxes designed to receive the winding mechanism of a roller shutter are of a high cost, but the fact that it is necessary to integrate them in the masonry, as soon as the building of this last, is binding.

Above all, during the installation of the joinery, the assembly of the latter and that of the shutter are necessarily dissociated operations, imposing a time of installation greater than that of a block assembly door or window surmounted by a shutter.

By the documents FR-2843161 and FR-2777938 solutions are known that correspond substantially to the synthesis of those previously disclosed. More particularly, in these documents there are described roller shutter boxes consisting substantially of two parts of boxes, one of which forms a formwork element and defines, by its integration from the construction, the reservation in the upper part of an opening in this construction, for the reception of a door or window. This box further comprises a second cabinet part which, it, equips the carpentry corresponding to this door or window being implanted above the frame. Often this second part of box includes all means for its equipment of the shutter mechanism. Thus, the carpentry can be pre-equipped, in the factory, of this shutter and its drive mechanism, to be installed in one piece on the wall of the construction in concordance with the part of box integrated in this last.

Here again, if this solution brings in theory any satisfaction, the integration in the masonry of the part of caisson forming formwork element makes the structural work operations binding. In particular, it is necessary for the bricklayer to install precisely this formwork element in this masonry, in place of a prefabricated lintel which, in comparison, is much easier, safer, besides it is also much less fragile. Especially an installation error later prevents the break of the joinery and the integration of the rolling shutter mechanism which it is equipped.

To this, it should be added that is currently known prefabricated lintels for defining, in the upper part of an opening of a door or window in a construction, this reservation for the housing in part, the shutter box.

Such prefabricated lintel of a material in adequacy with that used for the construction of the construction, for example in brick, has a general U-shaped structure so as to constitute a formwork element inside which concrete can be poured and integrated the metal frames necessary for the design of a lintel. In addition, the wall intended to be located on the external side of the building is extended under this U-shaped structure of the prefabricated lintel, this on a height corresponding to that of the reservation to be preserved above the opening of the door or window .

In short, this extension, under the prefabricated lintel, of this external wall defines the bottom of this reservation and thus comes to hide, externally to the construction, the box of the shutter.

Similarly, these prefabricated lintels can adopt more simply the shape of an inverted L, the horizontal wall, of width adjusted to that of the wall, extending above the opening corresponding to the door or window in the masonry, while the vertical wall is located in the alignment of the outer face of the latter, defining on the internal side the reservation for the shutter.

In view of the foregoing description, it is well understood that such prefabricated brick lintel, being integrated into the construction at the time of erection of the masonry, is necessarily longer than the width of the door opening or window, so as to be able to rest, at its ends, on the masonry studs defining the frame of this door or window. Also, the length of the reservation defined such prefabricated lintel is often much greater than the box to accommodate. In addition, this type of prefabricated lintel being designed to match any type of width and height of a door or window, the reservation he designs is determined to receive the largest boxes. As a result, the height of this reservation thus defined by this lintel is very often oversized compared to the box finally hosted. The problem of the peripheral sealing between the shutter box and this reservation is therefore accentuated.

In particular, at the periphery of this box, internal side to the construction, it is necessary to provide a wide cover to close the space between the box and the peripheral edges of the reservation.

The document FR-2.898 379 discloses a "half-bay block" adapted for these types of known lintels, including a reservation for the reception of the winding mechanism of a rolling shutter apron. In particular, the side cheeks on which is mounted in rotation the winding shaft are fixed, projecting outwards, on the upper part of a frame, while the box of the shutter is constituted partly by booking in this lintel. In addition, the soffit or inspection hatch has its leading edge coming engage or snap on a rail capping the lower edge before this reservation.

If the latter is deep enough, the casing of the shutter extends completely in this reservation, which highlights that it is not expected in this state of the art to take advantage of the thickness of the joinery for the installation above the latter of the shutter box. This one comes in this case totally cantilever at the front of the door or window. Moreover, when this box is thicker than the masonry, as is the case for large shutters, the joinery can not be affixed applied directly against the inner wall of the masonry but it is necessary to move it inwards by means of intermediate profiles.

In addition, if the board defining in particular the inner wall of ca shutter chamber can be extended at its upper end, a vertical bar, intended to bear against the vertical vertical face of the lintel, nothing is provided on the lateral sides for closing the end portions of the reservation that defines, in the upper part, this lintel relative to the masonry.

The present invention proposes to provide a solution to the disadvantages of the state of the art. To this end, the invention relates to a roller shutter box surmounting a joinery, window-door type or the like, and having an inner wall, an upper wall, an outer wall to which is connected a lower soffit closing at the bottom thereof. box comprising a first box portion attached above said joinery and a second box portion adapted to extend in a reservation provided for this purpose in a masonry above an opening in front of which is intended to be reported, applied, this joinery, characterized in that the first part of the box comprises covering means designed to come to apply on the side internal to the masonry, on the peripheral edges of the reservation in the latter.

As shown in the figures of the accompanying drawings, the present invention relates to roller shutters and relates, more particularly, to a casing 1 of such a shutter 2.

As illustrated in figure 1 , this box 1 overcomes a joinery 3, type door, window or the like, equipping an opening 4 in the wall 5 of a construction 6. It comprises an inner wall 20, substantially vertical, to the east connected, through its internal longitudinal edge, a substantially horizontal upper wall 29 whose outer longitudinal edge is connected to an outer wall 32. This box is closed in the lower part by a sub-face 22 to be fixed in particular on the lower longitudinal edge of the outer wall 32.

The joinery 3 is attached, here, applied to the inner side 7 on the wall 5, which comprises, above the opening 4, a reservation 8 in which extends, in part, the box 1, as desired illustrate it figure 2 .

This reservation 8 is defined, in the embodiment shown, by a prefabricated lintel 9 of general Y structure, with a U-shaped part forming a lintel formwork element, under which extends, in the extension of the wall 10 located on the outer side 11 of the wall 5, a covering wall 12 defining, substantially, the bottom 13 of the reservation 8.

The present invention is not limited to such a design of a lintel Y. In particular, this lintel can adopt a reverse L-shaped structure, with a horizontal portion not necessarily forming a formwork.

On the Figures 1 and 2 is especially visible the free space 14 preserved above and on the lateral sides of the box 1, between the latter and the walls defining the reservation 8.

In this respect, the lintel 9, if of recoupable length, is of standard section so as to define a reservation 8 in the wall 5 of the construction 6 capable of accommodating the most impressive roller shutter boxes.

In the same way as the figure 2 , there are also such large free spaces 14 on either side of the lateral end of the box 1.

If the latter comprises a portion of caisson 15A, said second part of the box in the description, it also comprises a first portion of box 15 extending inwardly of the house and therefore protruding from the inner side 7 from the wall 5.

Moreover, it is through this first part 15 that the box 1 is attached to the upper end 16 of the joinery 3.

Advantageously, this first chamber portion 15 remains, however, set back from the plane 17 in which the internal side 18 of this joinery 3 is located, thus set back from the internal cladding lining 19 of the wall 5.

This covering lining 19 is usually constituted by lining panels comprising an insulating material leaned against a plasterboard (not shown in the drawings).

Thus, while remaining in recess with respect to the plane 17, in front of the inner wall 20 of the caisson 1 may extend this cladding covering 19, thus making invisible the caisson 1 seen from the inner side of the dwelling .

Under these conditions, the access to the box 1 is made through an underside 21 extending to the front of the joinery 3 by closing the box in the lower part. This underside 21 is accessible from outside the house.

According to the invention, the first part of box 15 has defined dimensions to overlap the reservation 8 in the masonry.

In particular, according to a feature of the invention, the inner wall 20 of this first box portion 15 is extended, in its upper part, by a cover profile 22 having a support strip 23 designed adapted to be applied directly or through a sealing strip adapted to the wall 5, at the upper peripheral edge 24 of booking 8.

As seen more particularly in Figures 3, 4 and 8 , this covering profile 22 comprises, at its lower longitudinal edge 25, interlocking and / or coupling means 26, of male or female type, designed to cooperate with interlocking means and / or complementary hooking 27, of female or male type, fitted to the casing 1, in the upper extension of the inner wall 20.

Just as represented in these Figures 3, 4 and 8 , these interlocking means and / or complementary clashes 27 may be formed on the edge of the upper edge 28 of the inner wall 20. However, they may also be formed at the edge of the upper wall 29 of the box 1.

As shown again figures 4 and 8 said covering profile 22 can be articulated to the upper edge 28 of this inner wall 20, in place and in combination with such interlocking and / or hooking means 26 and complementary means 27.

It is this last solution which has been represented in the drawings and which is more particularly visible in the figure 8 . In the case of a box 1 made of plastic material, the articulated connection may be provided by a flexible plastic joining strip 40 coextruded with the inner wall 20 and the covering profile 22 and connecting them. Thus, during transport and mounting of the box, the cover profile 22 can be kept folded on the inner wall 20, as desired to illustrate the figure 4 . Once the joinery 3 is put in place, the covering profile 22 can be straightened to be repelled against masonry. At the same time, the interlocking and / or hooking means 26 are brought into co-operation with the complementary ones 27 to then ensure the retention in position of said covering profile 22.

The advantage of such a combination consists, not only, in that the covering profile 22 does not constitute an additional piece independent of the remainder of the box 1, but, in addition, in a sealing gain of this box 1 through at the joining strip 40.

Advantageously, this cover profile 22 extends from the inner wall 20 of the box 1 to the support strip 23 at the upper longitudinal edge 30, forming an upward inclined plane at an angle of between 30 ° and 70 ° relative to at the upper wall 29 of the box 1.

The support strip 23 which itself extends in a substantially vertical plane, is parallel to the inner wall 20, this at a distance 31 relative to the outer wall 32 of the box 1, delimits the second box portion 15A relative to the first box portion 15.

According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, in the support strip 23 of the covering profile 22 are provided perforations 41 for the passage of fixing screws. Also the sealing of the box 1 with respect to the masonry is not simply dependent on the seal strip interposed between the latter and the support strip 23.

According to another feature of the invention which is visible in Figures 5, 6 and 7 , the inner wall 20 of the box 1 is extended widely on both sides at the lateral ends 33 of the latter, while the covering profile 22 is itself extended on either side of this box 1 so as to correspond in length, substantially, to that of this inner wall 20.

Furthermore, on the edge edges 34 of this inner wall 20 and the covering profile 22, there is attached a cover plate 35 which itself comprises a support strip 36 extending perpendicularly in the same plane as the strip. support 23 of the covering profile 22.

In sum, this support strip 36 of the cover caps 35 at the lateral ends 33 of the box 1 extends the support strip 23 by sealing the box 1 relative to the reservation 8 at the lateral ends 37 of the latter. Thus, this support strip 36 of the cover caps 34 is designed able to bear on the vertical peripheral edges 38 of this reservation 8. Again in the support strip 36 of these lateral cover caps 35 can be arranged one or more perforations for the passage of fixing screws.

According to an advantageous embodiment, the cover caps 35 are designed to be fitted on the lateral end edges 34 of the inner wall 20 and the covering profile 22. Thanks to this interlocking, the support strip 36 a covering cap 35 overlaps the support strip 23 of the covering profile 22 so as to ensure a perfect seal of the box 1 with respect to the masonry.

Claims (14)

1. Casing for a roller shutter topping a carpentry (3) such as a door, window or the like and including an inner wall (20), an upper wall (29), an outer wall (32), which a soffit (21) is connected to, which closes this casing (1) at the lower portion, comprising a first casing portion (15) applied above the carpentry (3) and a second casing portion (15A) designed so as to extend in a recess (8) provided to this end in a masonry above an opening (4) in front of which this carpentry (3) is aimed at being applied, wherein the first casing portion (15) includes covering means designed capable of being applied, at the inner side (7) of the masonry (5), against the peripheral edges (24, 38) of the recess (8).
2. Casing according to claim 1, wherein the inner wall (20) is extended, at its upper portion, by a covering profile (22) including a resting strip (23) designed capable of being applied, directly or through a sealing strip, against the upper peripheral edge (24) of said recess (8).
3. Casing according to claim 2, wherein the covering profile (22) is mounted in a hinging way on the upper edge (28) of the inner wall (20).
4. Casing according to claim 3, wherein the covering profile (22) is mounted in a hinging way on the inner wall (20) through a joining strip made of flexible plastic (40) co-extruded with said covering profile (22) and said inner wall (20).

Casing according to any of claims 2 to 4, wherein the covering profile (22) includes, at the level of its lower longitudinal edge (25), male or female encasing and/or coupling means (26) designed capable of cooperating with female or male complementary encasing and/or coupling means (27) the casing (1) is provided with in the upper extension of the inner wall (20).
6. Casing (1) according to claim 5, wherein the complementary encasing and/or coupling means (27) are provided for on the edge at the upper rim (28) of the inner wall (20).
7. Casing (1) according to claim 5, wherein the complementary encasing and/or coupling means (27) are provided for at the edge of the upper wall (29) of the casing (1).

Casing (1) according to any of claims 2 to 7, wherein the covering profile (22) extends from the inner wall (20) of the casing (1) to the resting strip (23) at the upper longitudinal edge (30) while forming an upwardly inclined plane forming an angle between 30° and 70° with respect to the upper wall (29) of the casing (1).
9. Casing (1) according to any of claims 2 to 8, wherein the resting strip (23) extends in a substantially vertical plane at a distance (31) with respect to the outer wall (32) of the casing (1) delimiting the second casing portion (15A) with respect to the first casing portion (15).
10. Casing (1) according to any of claims 2 to 9, wherein perforations (41) are provided for in the resting strip (23) for the passing through of fastening screws.
11. Casing (1) according to any of claims 2 to 10, wherein the inner wall (20) is extended on both sides of the side ends (33) of the casing (1), the covering profile (22) being in turn extended on both sides of this casing (1) so as to correspond in length substantially to that of the inner wall (20).
12. Casing (1) according to claim 11, wherein it includes covering plates (35) applied against the end edges (34) of the inner wall (20) and of the covering profile (22), these covering plates (35) including a resting strip (36) extending perpendicularly in the same plane as the resting strip (23) of said covering profile (22).
13. Casing (1) according to claim 12, wherein the covering plates (35) are designed capable of being encased onto the lateral end edges (34) of the inner wall (20) and of the covering profile (22).
14. Casing (1) according to claim 12 or 13, wherein at least one perforation is provided for in the resting strip (36) of the covering plates (35) for the passing through of a fastening screw.
