- A casing for holding a fluid, such as coolant, for a heat exchanger (1), in particular for motor vehicles, having four walls consisting of two side walls (22, 24 or 22a, 24a) and two end walls (26, 28 or 26a, 28a), a cover (18 or 18a) and a base (20 or 20a) arranged opposite the cover (18 or 18a), in which one or more openings (60) are provided for holding tubes, in particular connecting tubes, such as flat tubes, characterised in that the base, the two end walls (26, 28 or 26a, 28a) and the two side walls (22, 24 or 22a, 24a) are a one-piece shaped part formed by a shaping method, and the at least one end wall (26, 28 or 26a, 28a) has a folding or bending line (26-3) along which the at least one end wall (26, 28 or 26a, 28a) is foldable or bendable, wherein a first region of the at least one end wall (26, 28 or 26a, 28a) underneath the folding or bending line is drawn, in particular deep-drawn, and a second region of the at least one end wall (26, 28 or 26a, 28a) above the folding or bending line is folded or bent about this line.
- The casing according to claim 1, characterised in that the shaping method is a drawing method, in particular a deep-drawing method.
- The casing according to claim 1 or 2, characterised in that the shaped part is a drawn, in particular deep-drawn, and/or hydroformed and/or spin-formed shaped part.
- The casing according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the folding or bending line runs at a predeterminable height of the at least one end wall (26, 28 or 26a, 28a), in particular transversely to a longitudinal direction of the base (20 or 20a).
- The casing according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the predeterminable height lies at or close to a plane defined by lower edges of the side parts.
- The casing according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the at least one end wall (26, 28 or 26a, 28a) is all together drawn, in particular deep-drawn.
- The casing according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the at least one end wall (26, 28 or 26a, 28a) has at least one bracket and/or assembly which is, in particular, arranged on the side and/or which is bendable.
- The casing according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the at least one bracket and/or assembly is bended such that it is arranged essentially parallel to one of the side walls (22, 24 or 22a, 24a) and/or is connected, in particular by a solder connection, to one of the side walls (22, 24 or 22a, 24a).
- The casing according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that at least one, in particular two, essentially triangular recesses are formed in the shaped part in a transition region between the base (20 or 20a) and the at least one end wall (26, 28 or 26a, 28a).
- The casing according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the cover (18 or 18a) has at least one first recess, in particular of the bead type, in which a first one of the end walls (26 or 26a) is received, but, in particular, the first recess (90) and a second recess (92) which is different from said first recess (90) and in which a second end wall (28 or 28a) spaced apart from the first one (26 or 26a) is received.
- A method for producing a casing for holding a fluid, such as coolant, for a heat exchanger (1), in particular for producing a casing according to any one of claims 1 to 10, characterised in that- an inner space of the casing is defined by walls which are, specifically, two side walls (22, 24 or 22a, 24a), two end walls (26, 28 or 26a, 28a), a cover (18 or 18a) and a base (20 or 20a) arranged opposite the cover (18 or 18a),- a one-piece part, including the base (20 or 20a), the two end walls (26, 28 or 26a, 28a) and the two side walls (22, 24 or 22a, 24a), is produced by a drawing method or a separating method, in particular by punching, and by folding and bending,- said one-piece part is further processed by a shaping method, in particular drawn, especially deep-drawn, and/or hydroformed and/or spin-formed, wherein the at least one end wall (26, 28 or 26a, 28a), in particular the two end walls (26, 28 or 26a, 28a), is or are formed at least partially,- said one-piece part is connected, in particular by solder-plating, to another part or additional parts which form(s) the remaining wall(s) defining the inner space of the casing for forming the casing.
