Abstract
Description
The present invention generally relates to the field of exhaust of the combustion gases of a heat engine and more particularly the field of the exhaust with the use of pollution control elements such as a catalyst or a particulate filter with a post-injection of diesel for the cleaning of these elements.
The standards concerning pollution of motor vehicles are becoming more and more severe. This is pushing car manufacturers to find technical solutions to meet these constraints. The use of catalyst and particulate filter is therefore widespread. However, it is necessary to regularly clean these elements that can become dirty due to the accumulation of particles on them.
To carry out this cleaning, it is known to inject a homogeneous mixture of air and diesel fuel on the oxidation catalyst situated upstream of the filtration system so as to increase the temperature of the exhaust gases as for a combustion. A high level of temperature is indeed necessary to oxidize and burn the carbonaceous particles or soot produced by the engine and retained on this filtration system to prevent their accumulation and fouling thereof. This operation is called the regeneration phase of the filtration system.
It is easy to observe that such a device does not have a compact shape and is bulky and requires adaptation to the exhaust line on which it will be fixed and that its protection is not ensured effectively.
The object of the present invention is to integrate a compact-shaped gas oil spraying device into an element of the exhaust line in order to ensure the protection of this device and to simplify its fixing on this element.
For this purpose, the subject of the invention is a device for vaporizing diesel fuel, comprising a diesel feed inlet, a spark plug and a body having a vaporized gas oil outlet, this device being intended for vaporizing diesel fuel upstream of the catalyst of the exhaust line of a motor vehicle, characterized in that the spark plug, the diesel fuel are arranged on the same side of the body being fixed on a base connected to the body, said base being intended to come in abutment against said exhaust line at a suitable orifice, the body extending opposite the spark plug and the diesel feed inlet relative to the base and being intended to penetrate the interior of the exhaust line, said body having on its periphery, away from the base, the vaporized gas oil outlet.
- the body and the base of the device form a single piece,
- the body and / or the base of the device are made by molding and machining,
- the device comprises an oxygen sensor, the latter having a part fixed on the base of the device while its measuring part extends in its body,

This escapement can also be taken into consideration by the control logic.
The invention also relates to an exhaust line comprising a catalyst and a particulate filter and to such a device for vaporizing diesel fuel, characterized in that the body of the vaporization device is entirely incorporated in this line while the base of it rests on the outer surface of this exhaust line.
Advantageously, the part of the exhaust line receiving the body of the vaporization device is in the form of a bent tube located before the oxidation catalyst or forming the inlet of this catalyst, the base of the vaporization device resting on the bent part of the tube.
Preferably, the bent tube is formed of two longitudinal shells made by stamping, each of these two shells carrying a complementary recess for housing the body of the vaporization device inside thereof prior to their joining to form the tube.

This solution has a low mechanical strength, a loss of heat because the body is disposed outside the exhaust line. In addition, it requires a chain mounting time for the positioning of the spray device on the exhaust line.
As already stated, this device applies to diesel engine vehicles equipped with a particulate filter and equipped with diesel fuel injection technology exhaust.
This device comprises a diesel fuel supply inlet 1, a
Incidentally, an
Preferably, the
Thus, the
Les bords de ce logement présentent un appui suffisant au socle 7 qui repose sur ceux-ci.Preferably, the bent tube 5 is formed of two longitudinal shells 5a and 5b formed by stamping, each of these two shells 5a and 5b carrying a complementary recess for housing the body of the vaporization device inside of them beforehand. their solidarization to form the tube 5. The edges of this housing have sufficient support to the
This joining can be carried out by any means, for example by welding or gluing or fixing by mechanical means.
The regeneration mechanism of the particulate filter is as follows. The vaporization of the gas oil and its oxidation on the catalyst raises the temperature thereof, preferably between 550 ° C and 650 ° C, which allows to burn the soot particles present in the particulate filter after this catalyst. However, regeneration of the particulate filter must be avoided, which may lead to its destruction. Too much diesel fuel injection can also lead to increases in unburned hydrocarbons at the exit of the exhaust line L, which is undesirable with respect to compliance with antipollution standards.
The use of an
Ce seuil de température dépend selon le type de filtre à particules mais est situé généralement au dessus d'environ 670°C.This temperature threshold depends on the type of particulate filter but is generally above about 670 ° C.

- a simplification of the industrial system obtained by limiting the number of suppliers of exhaust system components equipped with the system, the supplier of the line also being the supplier of the diesel fuel spraying device,

- a decrease in the risk of failure for the customer,
- a reduced installation in the engine plant, since the spraying device may have been mounted on the exhaust line prior to mounting thereof on the motor vehicle.
