Bei den elektrischen Hausinstallationen war und ist man der Ansicht, dass die konsequente Verdrahtung nach TN-S, Gewähr für einen erdstrom- freien Betrieb bietet. Weiter induzieren so verlegte Kabel auch Ströme in benachbarte Metallkonstruktionen, wie Kabeltrasse, Luft-, Wasser- und/oder Gasleitungen, Eisenarmierungen usw..
