Die erfindungsgemässe Einrichtung 1 besitzt gemäss Fig. 1 einen Sammelzylinder 2, der im Uhrzeigersinn um eine Achse 22 drehbar ist. Ferner treibt der Antriebsmotor 13 über den Zahnriemen 14 und einen Zahnriemen 59 ein oberes Rad 51 an, das ein Stirnzahnrad ist, welches in ein unteres Rad 52 einer Fördervorrichtung 6 eingreift, das ebenfalls ein Stirnzahnrad ist. Die Drehzahl des Querschneiders 57, der an seinem Umfang ein hier lediglich angedeutetes Messer aufweist, entspricht genau der Drehzahl des Beschleunigungsorgans 11, bzw. der halben Drehzahl des Sammelzylinders 2, der an seinem Zylinderumfang zwei Bogenstapel 18 und 18' bilden kann. Der Sammelzylinder 2 besitzt somit zwei sogenannte Nutzen.
