Definitions
- the invention relates to an operating element for electrical switching according to the preamble of claim 1.
- Such controls which are designed as a joystick or as a rocker switch, are used for example in vehicles to make electrical switching operations and / or to trigger functions. They are used, for example, for operating exterior mirrors.
- a rocker switch designed for a plurality of tilting directions which can trigger a two-stage shifting with each rocker direction.
- the rocker switch has a housing in which an interior space in the form of a spherical layer is formed.
- a likewise formed as a ball layer part of the rocker is performed.
- Both spherical layers are designed in such a way that, starting from the lower sectional plane of the spherical layers to the upper sectional plane, the circumference of the spherical layers decreases. Therefore, the rocker must also be supported downwards. All contacts and contact elements of the rocker switch are arranged on a silicone mat. This known rocker switch is expensive to manufacture.
- DE 103 41 602 B3 discloses a multi-function switch, in which a spherical receptacle is arranged in a bearing in the manner of a two-part ball socket. On the receptacle protruding bolts are attached laterally, which rest loosely on pushrods. These act upon actuation of the switch on switching elements which are arranged on a base plate. This known switch is relatively expensive.
- the object of the invention is to provide a control that is compact and simple in design and inexpensive to manufacture.
- An interior formed by the housing is in the form of a spherical layer. On the wall of the spherical layer the contacts are arranged. On the lever, a contact carrier is fixed so that it is guided in the ball layer. In this case, the contacts and the contact elements are arranged corresponding to one another such that upon actuation of the operating element at least one contact is closed by the associated contact element.
- the contacts and the associated conductor tracks are incorporated in the inner housing wall; This can for example be done in a simple manner by appropriate metal layers are applied.
- the contact elements are integrated in the contact carrier. This arrangement of the invention causes a total that no switching elements outside the housing are required, which must be operated via a mechanism. There are only a few items to assemble; additional support of the contact element with the lever is not required. As a result, corresponding costs can be saved, and the control is very compact.
- the housing is made according to claim 2 of two plastics of different galvanic activity, the application of the contacts and printed conductors is greatly simplified.
- the locations where the contacts and traces are to be attached made of a material with higher galvanic activity, so that they can be etched accordingly in preparation for the application. Only at the etched points does the metal layer adhere after a simple application.
- the spray technique according to claim 3 is a common and simple method.
- the design of the contacts on the inside of the housing as a metal grid since the metal mesh by means of a tool can be particularly easily encapsulated with a plastic.
- an additional switch on an operating end of the lever according to claim 5 increases the employability of the operating element.
- the switch can be designed, for example, as a rotary or rocker switch or as a pushbutton.
- the control is equipped with a shift gate that allows tilting of the lever in four directions, it is particularly well suited for adjusting exterior mirrors.
- the manufacture of the housing of two parts according to claim 7 facilitates the production.
- the items are executed, for example, identical; This reduces the number of different parts to be produced, which offers advantages in terms of storage, among other things.
- the individual parts can also be designed differently, wherein preferably all contacts and conductor tracks are arranged in only one of the two individual parts. This offers the advantage that the other of the items can be made easily and much cheaper from only one plastic.
- the items are connected together during assembly of the operating element by, for example, gluing, welding or latching.
- Means for securing against rotation between the contact carrier and the housing according to claim 8 prevent malfunction of the operating element by an angular displacement between the contacts and the associated contact elements.
- FIGURE shows a perspective view of an operating element according to the invention, partially cut.
- location designations are related to the illustration in the figures. When installed, the operator can have any position that is no longer applicable to these location labels.
- the operating element comprises a housing 1, in which a lever 5 is tiltably mounted.
- the housing 1 has the shape of a hollow spherical layer both inside and outside; that is, the shape corresponds to a hollow sphere with two spherical caps cut off by parallel cuts. In this case, both sections have the same distance to the center of the ball, and the housing 1 is open at the planes formed by the cuts. At a lower and an upper edge of the housing 1, an inwardly facing shoulder 6 is formed over the entire circumference.
- the housing 1 has a different outer shape than a spherical shape.
- the housing 1 is made of two individual parts, each of the individual parts is made of two different plastics and the items are optionally identical.
- One Plastic with higher galvanic activity - for example of the ABS-Galvano type - is well etchable and is used on the inner wall of the housing 1 at the points where the contacts and the conductor tracks are arranged in the finished housing 1.
- the rest of the housing 1 is made for example of a standard ABS plastic.
- a shift gate 4 is arranged, in which a slotted guide allows the movement of the lever 5 in four directions offset at right angles.
- the shift gate 4 and the housing 1 are fixed relative to each other by being fixed in this embodiment on the upper end of the housing 1.
- the center of the shift gate 4 is arranged on a straight line through the centers of the flat surfaces of the ball layer.
- a contact carrier 3 is fixed so that the lever 5 is perpendicular to the upper main surface thereof.
- the contact carrier 3 has the shape of a circular disk, wherein its center lies in the center of the housing 1 and the diameter is dimensioned such that the edges of the contact carrier 3 rest against the inner wall of the housing 1 or are only slightly spaced from the inner wall.
- the contact carrier 3 In a neutral - that is not actuated - position of the lever 3, the contact carrier 3 is parallel to the flat surfaces of the housing 1.
- four contact elements 2 of electrically conductive material are spaced evenly apart.
- the contact elements 2 are located on radial rays which are parallel to and perpendicular to the slotted guide 4.
- the contact elements 2 are elastically mounted on the contact carrier 3.
- To secure the contact carrier 3 against rotation about the longitudinal axis optionally corresponding vertical circular arc-shaped recesses are recessed on the inner wall of the housing 1, in which the contact elements 2 are guided.
- To achieve a center detent of the lever 5 in the neutral position are optionally on a circular path, which runs centrally between the cut spherical caps on the inside of the housing 1, to the contact elements 2 corresponding recesses 7 in the housing 1, in which in the unactuated state of the control all contact elements 2 rest.
- contacts and arranged with these interconnects are arranged on an inner wall of the housing 1.
- the contacts form a grid, so that a contact element 2 moves when tilting the lever 5 via different, lying on a vertical circular path contacts and thus results in a multi-stage control.
- the contacts are recessed in the housing 1 introduced so that there are noticeable notches in the different deflection positions of the lever 5.
- the switching stages are separately determinable for each tilting direction of the lever by the number and / or arrangement of the contacts.
- only one step is provided in one or more tilting directions of the lever 5.
- the tracks are connected via cable or a plug contact with an electronic control unit.
- this control unit can be determined on which contact a contact element 2 is located. From this, the direction and the strength of the deflection of the lever 5 can be determined.
- the contacts correspond with the possible directions of movement of the lever 5 according to the shift gate 4 and are arranged for example in the lower half of the housing 1.
- another switching element may be arranged.
- the The Theticiansbeispiei refers to a Whytu ⁇ gscardien the lever 5.
- the invention also relates to versions with a different number of directions of movement, wherein the shift gate 4 and the number of contacts and the contact elements 2 is to change accordingly.
- the production of the control element is as follows: The individual parts of the housing 1 are formed in a conventional two-component injection molding technique and then etched, whereby only the Galvano- plastic parts are attacked. Various metal layers for forming the contacts and the printed conductors are applied in a known manner to the affected parts in several steps. Before the individual parts are joined together, the prefabricated contact carrier 3 with the lever 5 is inserted. Subsequently, the shift gate 4 is mounted on the housing 1, and the tracks are connected to the cable or the plug.
