Abstract

Claimed is a key and cylinder lock system. The key has an identical mirror image cut profile top and bottom along the shaft. The profiles incorporate two or more variations that are transverse to the shaft axis.

Description

The present invention relates to reversible key for profile cylinder Oberbergriff the main claim.

The displacement of the pin tumblers on the above-mentioned inclined surface pairings, however, should only allow a hakelungsfreie operation of the lock cylinder with the aid of additional lubricant.

In addition, variations are possible with such control pins, but no access permissions in a hierarchical order.

It is therefore an object of the present invention, from the EP 1 503 010 A1 educate known reversible key so that in addition to an improved copy protection and an increased number of variations in a hierarchical arrangement is possible.

This object is achieved by the invention with the features of the main claim.

Moreover, it is an object of the invention to provide with the reversible key according to the invention on a system of such reversible keys and associated profile cylinders access permissions in at least two predetermined hierarchical levels.

This object is achieved by the invention with the features of claim 5.

A further sub-task of the invention is based on specifying measures on the profile cylinder, with which a blocking or release of the lock cylinder via a correspondingly designed reversible key is possible beyond the known pin tumblers addition.

This sub-problem solves the invention with the features of claim 8.

The invention is characterized in that in addition to the usual cuts on the narrow edges and possibly provided holes on the broad sides of the key shaft for aligning any laterally arranged pin tumblers on each broadside an additional Konturfräsung is provided on one and the same reversible key having the variation edges which are not readily copied on conventional machines after location, distance from the key tip and geometric course.

The arrangement of two variation edges on each of the two key broadsides also allows a variety of possible variations, because each of the two variation edges must be made separately in terms of their distance from the key tip, their geometric shape, their width and still the relative positions of both edges variation must also be taken into account.

Therefore, the invention provides the advantage that an impermissible copy of such reversible key can only be produced at considerable expense, so that the reversible key according to the invention actually offers considerably better copy security than the known systems.

The reversible key according to the invention therefore opposes the interests of the consumer in terms of increased copy security, in particular also because the variation edges should preferably be perpendicular to the broad sides of the key shaft.

For the production of these geometry features alone requires a cutting tool, which stands with its axis of rotation perpendicular to the broad sides of the reversible key, such as a cylindrical milling cutter and a corresponding scanning device.

It is advantageous that both variation edges on each broad side, so a total of four variation edges per reversible key, not to look at whether they are actually provided for the operation corresponding assigned displaceable abutment surfaces in the lock cylinder or not.

However, the presence of - a total of - four variation edges can not be overlooked in the reproduction of a (inadmissible) key copy, so that already for this reason the measures of the present invention considerably complicate the production of inadmissible key copies.

In addition, the two variation edges must be arranged on each broad side of the reversible key with respect to the two possible key reversal positions mirror images of each other. This requirement requires increased manufacturing precision.

The measures of the present invention also allow the use of such reversible key and possibly assigned profile cylinder in addition to existing locking systems, because the reversible key according to the invention is indeed designed to close subordinate profile cylinder, but their reversible keys are not suitable to close parent profile cylinder.

Thus, the invention also provides the possibility to supplement locking systems with existing profile systems, if necessary in the sense of improved copy security.

In a practical embodiment, the two variation edges are formed on each broad side of the reversible key of two successively arranged pockets, of which the key tip facing pocket starts with a relatively large width.

The variation edges can transversely, obliquely, perpendicularly or curved to the longitudinal direction of the key shaft, they only need to cut its longitudinal direction in any way, so that when inserting the reversible key in the profile cylinder a standing transversely to the insertion direction stop edge on the reversible key is ready.

The design of the variation edges in longitudinal section is almost arbitrary.

An optimal stop variation results e.g. at variation edges, which - in the longitudinal section of the reversible key - are perpendicular to the broad sides of the key shaft.

The variation edges would then be at a corresponding angle on the broad sides of the reversible key.

The geometry of the variation edges - as seen in longitudinal section - should match the geometry of corresponding provided in the profile cylinder counterstops complementarily.

In order to achieve over a long time a wear-free interaction between the variation edges of the reversible key and the associated counter-attacks in the lock cylinder, it is additionally proposed to provide a variation slide in the lock core of the profile cylinder, which is equipped with two projecting into the key channel Anschlagforsätzen, of which, respectively one cooperates with one of the two variation edges of the reversible key.

Since the variation slide is seated within a longitudinal recess of the lock core, it can be displaced by interaction between the variation edge and associated stop extension within the lock core and be used for the operation of complementary tumbler elements.

For this purpose, the variation slide on a release pocket, which can engage with corresponding axial positioning within the longitudinal recess in the lock core of the transverse extension of a locking bar, so that the locking bar is displaced from its locked position to its release position.

Therefore, these measures favor a long-term wear-free interaction by simple locking / release position without geared transmission links between the variation slide and transverse extension of the locking bar.

For this purpose, embodiments are given.

It is also of particular advantage that both the stop geometry of the variation slide and the arrangement of the variation edges can in principle be selected freely, so that reversible keys of the present invention can create additional hierarchies as a supplement to existing systems and also enable very different security requirements.

For this purpose, it is proposed that the reversible key according to the present invention and the corresponding profile cylinder with their variators for the respective hierarchy or security requirement as far as possible to settle, for example, in a general master key and important parent keys or even single key to doors special security requirements.

The reversible key 1 is designed as a flat key and can be inserted into two offset by 180 degrees to each other insertion positions in the keyway 26 of the profile cylinder.

The recesses 8 are arranged on the opposite broad sides 5 of the key shaft so that they are mirror-symmetric with respect to the two possible key reversal positions.

Each of the two recesses 8 has at least two different variation edges 12, 13 extending in the transverse direction 11 of the key shank 2.

The two variation edges are independent of each other and accessible from the key tip 7.

This means that they are arranged with respect to the longitudinal direction 9 of the key shaft, which is predetermined by the longitudinal profile of the profile ribs 10, in different transverse regions of the key shaft 2.

The first variation edge 12 is thus located in a first transverse region 14 while the second variation edge 13 is arranged in the second transverse region 15.

Both transverse regions 14, 15 have a longitudinal spacing 16 in the longitudinal direction 9, so that each variation edge 12, 13 is capable of sweeping another longitudinal region in the keyway 26 of the profile cylinder 19.

This will be discussed later.

Because the two variation edges 12, 13 are arranged in different transverse regions 14, 15, they are also accessible independently of one another.

In the exemplary embodiments 1 to 2a shown, the general profile of the variation edge 12, 13 is shown transversely to the longitudinal direction 9 of the key shaft 2.

In the embodiment of Fig.1 the first variation edge 12 runs obliquely to the key longitudinal direction.

The second variation edge 13 extends in all embodiments perpendicular to the longitudinal direction and beyond in Fig.2 also the first variation edge 12.

The geometric course of the variation edge 12,13 is therefore basically arbitrary, without departing from the spirit of the invention.

Both recesses 8 are introduced at the key tip and thus weaken the key cross-section only in this relatively insensitive area.

Like a comparison of Figures 3-6 shows, all reversible keys are equipped with matching mirror-inverted cuts 6 on their narrow edges.

All reversible keys therefore close the pin tumblers associated with the profile cylinders via their narrow edges.
