Abstract

Light signals (20), especially distress light signals or distress night lights serve as floating signaling means to facilitate the finding of shipwrecked. The light signals (20) must be waterproof. In particular, battery replacement and lamp replacement can lead to leaks and thereby affect the reliability of the light signal (20).

Figure imgaf001
The invention provides that instead of exchanging the individual components, such as a battery (64), a complete lighting unit (24) is exchanged. For this purpose, at least one energy-saving light-emitting diode (56) as light source, a battery (64) and a magnetically actuated reed contact (66) serving as a switching element are combined as light unit (24). The use of a low-cost LED (56) and a correspondingly low power consumption of the light-emitting diode (56) space-saving battery (64) allow a compact design of the light unit (24). The fact that the lighting unit (24) can be used as a unit in the floating body (22) and interchangeable as a unit, eliminates the need for a complex and the risk of leaks with changing battery or bulb replacement.
