Definitions
- the invention relates to a process for the production of adhesive printed products formed from several printed products, wherein the printed products formed to form loose book block fed by means along a collection line, at least approximately isochronously driven investors fed at regular intervals following receiving devices conveyor and fed through them into a Adhesive binding device to be transferred, wherein in an interruption of a processing process, the conveying device downstream effective adhesive binding device is driven empty.
- Book production lines have the task of collecting printed products in the right order with a collating device and then binding them in a perfect binder to make book blocks. If the collator is stopped, the adhesive binder is still at least as long continue to run until all in the transport brackets of the perfect binder book block are processed into raw books. This is necessary because otherwise set the applied adhesive in the back of the book block adhesive and the envelopes would no longer adhere.
- the loosely assembled book blocks printed sheet are transferred by means of a so-called separating element of the collating device in the adhesive binding device, wherein the separating element is synchronously drive-connected with the adhesive binding device. With each machine cycle, a book block is transferred from the gathering device to the perfect binder.
- the invention has for its object to decouple the gathering device in a book production line at high production speed of the perfect binding device and resume production at the interrupted point.
- the object is achieved according to the invention by adjusting the further charging of the receiving devices of the conveying device with printed products as well as the further supply of loose book blocks to the adhesive binding device during emptying of the adhesive binding device.
- Fig. 1 shows a book production line 1, consisting of a gathering device 8 for collecting printed products 4 to loose book block 5, with a conveyor line 6 and a Return line 14 having conveyor 2 and an adhesive binder 16 in which the loose book block 5 are processed by gluing the sheet to the back to raw bound books, brochures, book blocks or the like printed matter 9.
- the conveying device 2 has the following receiving devices 7 at regular intervals, which are guided in a closed circulation path 15.
- a receiving device 7 is formed for example by a driver and a fixed channel through which the driver pushes the printed products 4 or by a running compartment on which the printed products 4 are collected.
- Feeders 3 arranged along the conveying path 6 and driven in synchronism with the conveying device 2 are provided for feeding the receiving devices 7 with printed products 4.
- Each feeder 3 is usually charged with a type of printed products 4.
- Each feeder 3 has means for clocked separation, the printed products 4 provided in its magazine and a conveyor 10 for conveying the printed products 4 into the passing receiving devices 7 of the conveying device 2.
- the conveying device 2 is driven by a drive (not shown).
- the feeders 3 are driven together by a further, not shown drive or in a preferred form depending on their own drive.
- the drive or the drives of the feeder 3 are synchronously coupled to the drive of the conveyor 2.
- each receiving device 7 passes within the conveying section 6 at each feeder 3, it can be fed from each feeder 3, each with a printed product 4 and at the end the conveyor line 6 a complete loose book block 5 included.
- Complete and error-free book blocks 5 are transferred from the receiving devices 7 into the adhesive binding device 16 in a transfer area 11 of the conveying device 2 downstream of the conveyor line 6, so that the backs of the book blocks 5 in the adhesive binding device 16 are spaced from one another by the spine processing stations processed, bound and delivered to downstream processing machines.
- a controllable switch 13 is arranged, which selectively deflects book block 5 in the direction of a transport means 12 of the adhesive binding device 16 or leaves it in the receiving devices 7 of the conveying device.
- Defective book blocks 5, for example those with multiple printed products 4 of the same type or incomplete book block, can be discharged with a Ausschleusweiche not shown, which is preferably arranged between the last in the conveying direction F feeder 3 and the switch 13.
- control devices 20, 21 are provided, which are connected to each other for data exchange directly or via a higher-level control device 22.
- the control device 20 of the collating device 8 controls, for example, each individual feeder 3, the diverter switch and the switch 13.
- the control device 21 controls the adhesive binder 16 with its spine processing stations and the associated conveyors of the book block 5.
- the control devices 20, 21 continuously receive input signals from sensors the machines or control commands of the operating personnel.
- the receiving devices 7 and the transport means 12 of the adhesive binding device 16 must be exactly aligned with each other resp. be guided on two parallel tracks and driven at the same speed.
- the transport means 12 is formed by transport clamps 18 required for the transport during processing in the adhesive binding device 16 or by a transport device 17 which is arranged upstream of the transport clamps 18 and is associated with the adhesive binding device 16.
- FIG. 7 Such an embodiment of the adhesive binding device 16 is shown in FIG. 7.
- Fig. 1 also shows a flow of material in undisturbed production.
- the types of printed products to be collected 4 are letters A, B, C, D and the loose book blocks 5, respectively.
- FIG. 45A designates, for example, the type A printed product 4, which together with the printed products 45B, 45C and 45D forms the loose book block 5 of the serial number 45.
- Fig. 2 shows the situation of the loose book block 5 after a disturbance at the feeder 3 of the printed product type B. After feeding the printed product with the identification number 48B, an error has occurred at the feeder 3 for the printed product type B. The following printed product 49B and following are no longer supplied. Such a disturbance can arise, for example, when a printed product 4 has been damaged or improperly inserted into the magazine of the feeder 3 or when a technical defect has occurred at the feeder 3. Missing, multiply existing or incorrectly inserted printed products 4 can be detected by means of optical, capacitive or mechanical sensors and the control device 20 of the collating device 8 reported.
- the book blocks 5 concerned can be ejected and arresting of the gathering device 8 can be avoided. If a continuous fault occurs, the collating device 8 must be automatically stopped by the control device 20 and the fault must be remedied when the collating device 8 is stationary. It is also contemplated that the operator may stop the collator 8 when needed. Stopping the line consisting of gathering device 8 and adhesive binding device 16 would mean that all book blocks glued to the spine, but not yet provided with an envelope, become defective printed products because of the setting glue, which must be ejected. It therefore makes sense to stop the gathering device 8 and to continue to operate the adhesive binding device 16 until the last printed product 9 in the adhesive binding device 16 has been finished.
- the transfer of loose book blocks 5 is interrupted by the conveyor 2 in the transport 12 of the adhesive binder 16 through the switch 13. At least as long as loose book blocks 5 are located within the transfer area 11, the conveying device 2 and the adhesive binding device 16 must run synchronously with one another.
- the synchronicity of the collating device 8 can be abandoned with the adhesive binder 16, respectively. the collating device 8 are braked to a standstill. Leaving the synchrony before this time would lead to collisions of the book blocks 5 in the transfer area 11 with the conveyor device 2 and / or the transport means 12 of the adhesive binder 16.
- the supply of printed products 4 is also interrupted at all investors 3, so that after stopping the collator 8 in the area of the conveyor 10 between feeder 3 and conveyor 2 no more printed products 4 are.
- the resulting situation of the book blocks 5 is shown in FIG.
- the collating device 8 is stopped and the synchronicity between the collating device 8 and adhesive binding device 16 is canceled.
- the adhesive binding device 16 continues to be produced at least until the printed product 9 with the run number 40 has been completed. Subsequently, the adhesive binding device 16 can continue to run at a very low speed and without products.
- the no longer transferred to the adhesive binder 16 book block 5 with the serial numbers 41 to 43 are located downstream of the switch 13.
- the disturbance can be eliminated at the feeder 3 by the operator. After the disturbance is eliminated and the collator 8 is ready for use again, various operations are conceivable to continue production. If the originally planned production order is to be maintained, the receiving devices 7, which contain only a portion of the printed products 4 required for a complete printed product 9, must be displaced upstream of the investors 3, so that the next time the picking devices 7 move past the conveyors 10 of the feeders 3, the missing printed products 4 can be supplied. This may be useful, for example, if the printed products 9 are assigned to a specific recipient and / or a specific postal route. This State can be achieved by the complete gathering device 8, but at least the conveyor 2 is moved to the position shown in Figure 4.
- the collating device 8 resp. the conveying device 2 is moved in or against the conveying direction F in the position shown. If only the conveying device 2 is moved, the feeder 3 and the conveying device 2 must be newly synchronized with each other before resuming production. After synchronizing the collating device 8 with the adhesive binding device 16 or vice versa, the production can be resumed at the interrupted location, for which purpose the switch 13 is to be switched in the direction pointing in FIGS. 1 to 7 upward direction. If all printed products 9 of a production are identical, it is not essential in which order the printed products 9 are produced. In this case, it is conceivable, starting from the situation shown in FIG.
- FIG. 5 shows the state where the collating device 8 and the adhesive binding device 16 are again synchronized resp. to move in sync
- the complete book blocks 5 with the numbers 41 to 43 are located downstream of the switch 13 and thus can not be transferred directly into the adhesive binder 16, but only at the next round.
- the complete book blocks 5 with the run numbers 44, 45 are upstream of the switch 13 and are transferred to the adhesive binder 16, while the non-complete book block 5 with the Run numbers 46 to 52 remain in the receiving devices 7 of the collator 8.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a process for the production of adhesive printed products formed from several printed products, wherein the printed products formed to form loose book block fed by means along a collection line, at least approximately isochronously driven investors fed at regular intervals following receiving devices conveyor and fed through them into a Adhesive binding device to be transferred, wherein in an interruption of a processing process, the conveying device downstream effective adhesive binding device is driven empty.
Another disadvantage is exhibited when the gathering device has to be uncoupled from the perfect binder and stopped due to an error of an investor. Throughout the phase-out phase of the gathering device, a number of faulty book blocks are formed downstream of the feeder causing the fault and may not be transferred into the perfect binding device in this form. To this, too Two methods are known: All erroneous book blocks between the collator and the adhesive binder are ejected or repaired. Removal has the disadvantage that the unbound book blocks must be sorted by hand or machine, sorted according to the original printed products and returned to the appropriate investors. If the faulty book blocks in the stationary collating device are to be repaired, this can be done manually. In addition, can not be produced during these manual operations.
In the
The invention has for its object to decouple the gathering device in a book production line at high production speed of the perfect binding device and resume production at the interrupted point.
The object is achieved according to the invention by adjusting the further charging of the receiving devices of the conveying device with printed products as well as the further supply of loose book blocks to the adhesive binding device during emptying of the adhesive binding device.

Fig. 1 shows a
