Abstract

TECHNICAL AREA

The invention relates to a method and a device with which substantially rectangular items of laundry can be encompassed during their transport to a laundry treatment device, such as an ironing and folding device.

Items of laundry are supplied to a laundry treatment device, such as an ironing and / or folding device, lying flat and possibly aligned as exactly as possible. The laundry items have to be transferred from their crumpled state into a flat and optionally exactly aligned state. For this, the laundry items have to be re-used several times, with different handles. The items of laundry may be dry or, in particular, more or less moistened, depending on the last treatment they have undergone.

STATE OF THE ART

From the DE 695 02 740 T2 a method and a device of the aforementioned type is known. The device has a gripping device into which a piece of laundry with its edge is inserted. The gripping device transports the laundry item on a rod-shaped bar such that it rests astride it. The two lateral end portions of the laundry hanging freely from the beam down. The lying on the beam longitudinal portion of the laundry article is then pushed up between two conveyor belts. This longitudinal area is squeezed by the two conveyor belts and transported out of the area of the bar up out and on the lower of the two conveyor belts. The crimp fold formed in the longitudinal region of the laundry article lies in the transport direction of the conveyor belt at the front. PRESENTATION OF THE INVENTION

Based on this prior art, the present invention seeks to provide a gentle and reliable way to repeatedly grab a piece of laundry during transporting each of its non-flat lying in its flat state to a laundry treatment device such as an ironing or folding device. The aim is to achieve the highest possible throughput of laundry with the least possible workload for the operating personnel.

This invention is given for the inventive method by the features of claim 1 and for the device according to the invention by the features of the independent claim 11.

The invention includes that the garment can be grasped in any portion of its rim in a first grip. This first handle can be attached as desired at or away from any corner of the laundry article. According to the invention, it is further provided that the edge gripped in the first handle is brought into a stretched shape in an adjoining edge section. In this now stretched existing edge portion of the edge can be taken new or additional. The first handle can then, if it is no longer needed to hold the garment in question, be solved. If the first handle with several, for example, two brackets takes place, for example, one of these brackets could be solved and the laundry then be taken on the remaining one clip of the first handle and a stretched edge portion engaging another clip. In order to make it possible for the item of laundry to rest in a positionally stable manner on the slider during gripping, regardless of how the weight distribution of the item of laundry lying on the slider is in the respective individual case, it makes sense to hold the item of laundry on the slider during gripping. This fixation of the laundry item on the slide can be realized according to an embodiment shown in the drawing, that during gripping the front end of the laundry over which the laundry down as well as on the two opposite sides of the slider down, against a stop is pressed.

In order to grasp such a laundry item, therefore, it is not necessary for the laundry item to be pulled out of the laundry pile so far that an entire edge of the laundry item is exposed.
