Description

CH-A-403 278 ).The invention relates to a knife plate assembly in a cutter head for wood and plastics processing, according to the preamble of claim 1 (see, for example CH-A-403 278 ).

Knife heads for wood and plastic processing are known to have a cutter head base on the circumference at equal angular intervals receiving grooves are incorporated, which serve to receive a respective blade plate and the associated holding and clamping device for the blade plate.

Knife plate and knife holder have in this case positively cooperating means for securing the knife plate against radial outflung Messcrplatte under the effect of centrifugal force in the wood and plastic processing. commonly used high speeds on. Such form-fitting means may be dowel pins which engage in openings of the knife plate and may be inserted in a back plate supporting the knife plate or in a support surface of the receiving groove of the knife head body, or may be pins or other stop members incorporated in the side edge portions of the knife plate Recesses intervene.

For a regrinding of worn knife blade cutting is possible, it is often provided a stepwise adjustability of the blade plates in the receiving groove of the cutter head, which can be realized by the fact that dowel pins or other stop elements on the cutter head body or a back plate, each with a row on the blade plate co-operate with correspondingly spaced counter-elements, or that a knife plate receiving the back plate and a cooperating support surface in the cutter head body are each provided with a parallel to the cutter head teeth and thus allow a gradual radial adjustability of the position of the blade plate.

These known arrangements initially all have the disadvantage that a regrinding of worn knife edge edges is possible only in appropriate stages. A dulled or worn knife blade cutting edge must therefore be ground back by a measure that corresponds to the distance of an adjustment step. The necessary degree of re-sharpening of the knife plate can be a multiple of what would actually be necessary for re-sharpening the cutting edge cutting edge. This not only means unnecessary wear of the blade plate, which can be reground only once or twice, maybe three times, depending on the number of available adjustment, while in a need only resharpening a twice or three times more frequent regrinding and thus a double or triple life of Knife plate would be possible, and on the other hand, the respective Nachschleifaufwand is many times greater than it should be. If the adjustability is made by a back plate with teeth in the cutter head body is adjustable, there is the additional disadvantage that then the possibility of regrinding is still severely limited by the back plate.

The invention is therefore the object of a knife head in such a way that while maintaining simple radial positioning of the blade plate in the cutter head body and while maintaining the positioning accuracy greater versatility of the regrinding of the blade plates is possible.

This object is achieved according to the invention by the arrangement specified in claim 1.

Vorteilhafte Ausgestaltungen der Erfindung sind Gegenstand der Unteransprüche.Advantageous embodiments of the invention are the subject of the dependent claims.

In the arrangement according to the invention, the blade plate at the two ends of its length, ie in the region of its side edges, each one ground from the Messerplattenschneidkante ago recessed and a fixed distance from the blade cutting edge having stop surface, and on the cutter head body are cooperating with these two stop surfaces of the blade plate arranged radial stops stationary. The knife plate holding device comprises a spring member which biases the knife plate radially outward, so that it is always biased against the stationary stops with the two abutment surfaces formed at their mutual ends. The stops serve at the same time the definition of the blade plate in the direction of the blade head axis. The spring member is preferably formed as a leaf spring or the like., Which is supported on the one hand in the region of the groove bottom of the receiving groove and on the other hand against the lower edge, that presses the cutting edge opposite longitudinal edge of the blade plate.

The two opposite the cutting edge recessed stop surfaces are mitgeschliffen quasi as part of the cutting edge profile both during initial grinding of the knife edge as well as in each regrinding, so that the fixed distance relationship between the stop surfaces and the actual cutting edge always remains the same. The abutment surfaces are expediently sanded with the same inclination to the knife plate main plane as the actual cutting edge itself. The stops arranged on the cutter head then expediently have complementary inclined oblique surfaces as abutment surfaces.

In this way, a regrinding blunt, worn or broken out knife edge cutting edges is possible as needed, and the cutting edge need not be reground more than necessary- The re-sharpening of the knife plates can be done outside of the cutter head, and when inserting the reground knife plates in the Milling head always results in exactly the correct radial positioning of the cutting edges of the blade plate, without special positioning measures are necessary. It is also excluded that, which may occur in previous systems with gradual adjustability of the knife plates or knife plate carrier that when inserting or reinserting knife plates in a knife head a knife plate is mistakenly positioned incorrectly.

An embodiment of the invention will be described below in more detail with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which:
Fig. 1

Fig. 2
a radial plan view of the in Fig. 1 shown area of a cutter head, and

Fig. 1 shows a section of a cutter head according to the invention. In a cutter head main body 1 receiving grooves 2 are provided for receiving in each case a knife plate 3 with an associated clamping body 4 in usually distributed on the circumference. As the Fig. 1 and 2 show are along the length of the blade plate 3 a number, provided in the present embodiment of three clamping wedges 5, which are each tensioned by an associated clamping screw 6 and produce a compressive force on the clamping body 4 via cooperating wedge surfaces on the clamping wedge 5 and the clamping body 4, whereby the blade plate 3 is pressed against a support surface formed by the corresponding wall of the receiving groove 2. The details of the tensioning wedges 5, clamping screws 6 and the clamping body 4 formed clamping mechanism are not interested in this case.

Fig. 3 shows in the view of the knife plate 3, which has a cutting edge 31, a lower edge 32, which forms the cutting edge opposite longitudinal edge, and two side edges 33 at the both ends of the elongated blade plate- The blade plate 3 may also in the course of their length one of the Lower edge 32 ago machined groove 34 which, with a arranged in the cutter head body stopper pin 11 (in Fig. 2 visible) cooperates, which accomplishes a positioning and fixing of the blade plate 3 in the axial direction of the cutter head.

Like next Fig. 3 shows, in the region of the two side edges 33 at both longitudinal ends of the blade plate 3 respectively from the cutting edge 31 ago a stop surface 35 ground, which is set back relative to the cutting edge 31 by a certain fixed distance. These abutment surfaces 35 may be ground obliquely in the same way as the cutting edge 31. This is in Fig. 3 not visible, but is in Fig. 1 clearly visible.

As the Fig. 1 and 2 further show stop elements 7 are arranged on the cutter head, which are fixed by means of screws 8 in the cutter head body, and cooperate with said abutment surfaces 35 at the two side edge portions 33 of the blade plate. How to get in Fig. 1 sees, the stop elements 7 have a corresponding to the oblique polished section of the cutting edge 31 and the stop surfaces 35 adapted oblique shape. Thus, the stop elements 7 are accurately positioned, their position is defined in each case by a dowel pin 9, the in Fig. 1 is visible.

As in further Fig. 1 is visible, sits in the Nutgrundbereich the receiving groove 2, a spring 10, the Fig. 3 is shown together with the blade plate, so that the shape of the spring Fig. 3 is apparent. This spring 10 is according to Fig. 3 formed as a leaf spring, which has a downwardly curved central bottom portion and from there sideways slightly upwardly extending, on both sides of the bottom portion extending leg. The arc portion of the spring 10 is supported on the groove bottom of the receiving groove 2, while the two legs of the spring 10 abut against the lower edge 32 of the blade plate 3. This spring 10 presses the blade plate 3 each radially outward, in Fig. 1 So up, so that the knife plate is pressed with its two stop faces located at the ends 35 against the stop elements 7 by the spring 10.

If the cutting edge 1 is dull, worn or damaged by breakouts, it can be reground as needed. The abutment surfaces 35 thereby form virtually a part of the cutting edge 31 insofar as it is ground in the manufacture of the blade plate with the cutting edge 31 and regrind the regrind of the cutting plate, so that the rigid distance relationship between the cutting edge 31 and the return offset of the Stop surfaces 35 is always maintained identical. When the reground knife plate is reinstalled in the cutterhead is, the cutting edge 31 of the blade plate, no matter what measure the cutting edge has been reground, by the interaction of the stop surfaces 35 and the stop elements 7 due to the bias of the spring 10 is always the correct radial position, the cutting edge 31 is thus automatically always in the correct exact axial position, and in this position, the clamping of the blade plate by means of the clamping body 4 and the clamping wedges 5 done.
