Der Steckverbinder kann so unmittelbar an seinem Einsatzort verwendet werden, wobei Bügel 18 der Sekundärverriegelung 19 in einer Vormontagestellung verrastet ist und am Anwendungsort durch weiteres Eindrücken in seine Endraststellung überführt werden kann, wodurch den Steckerbinder endgültig verriegelt ist. Fig. 5 zeigt im Schnitt eine weitere Ausführungsform der Erfindung schematisch, wobei gleiche Bezugszeichen wie vorher gleiche Merkmale der Erfindung bezeichnen. Die Ausführungsform der Fig. 5 unterscheidet sich von den bisherigen Ausführungsformen dadurch, dass nicht getrennt Gehäuse 6 und Deckel 9 vorgesehen sind, sondern eine Aufnahme 40, die die Anschlussenden 4 der Kontakte und vorzugsweise auch die vorneliegenden (links in Fig. 5) Stecker- bzw. Buchsenenden 3 der Kontakte 2 umgibt und die in gleicher Weise wie die Kombination aus Gehäuse 6 und Deckel 9 zwei Öffnungen beidseits der Anschlussenden 4 der Kontakte 2 aufweisen.
