Description
- The present invention relates to a dust collector provided attachably and detachably in a main body of an electric vacuum cleaner, and an electric vacuum cleaner including the dust collector.
- Conventionally, there has been known a cyclon type-electric vacuum cleaner as described in
FIG.10 (for reference, seeJP 2001-104223A paragraphs 38 and 45,FIG.2 ). - The electric vacuum cleaner includes a
dust cup 1 in which an upper portion is opened, anelectric blower 2 for generating a negative pressure in an inside of thedust cup 1, and so on. Asuction opening 3 is provided in aperipheral wall 1A of thedust cup 1, the suction opening 3 communicates through asuction passage 5 with asuction unit 4 for sucking dust. - The dust sucked through the
suction unit 4 is introduced in thedust cup 1 passing through thesuction passage 5 and the suction opening 3 of thedust cup 1. Spiral flow is generated in thedust cup 1 to separate dust from air, and then only the air is sucked from the opened upper portion of thedust cup 1 to theelectric blower 2 and discharged to the outside. - According to the electric vacuum cleaner, because the dust is collected in the
dust cup 1, a paper pack-filter is not required. - However, in such an electric vacuum cleaner, because the dust and air are separated merely by the spiral flow generated in the
dust cup 1, the dust collected in thedust cup 1 is not compressed almost, therefore thedust cup 1 is filled with the dust rapidly, hence there is a problem that an amount of the dust collected in thedust cup 1 is very less actually. - Therefore, there has been proposed an electric vacuum cleaner according to the preamble of
claim 1, which is provided with a compressing means for compressing dust collected in a dust-collecting part (for reference, see Japanese Patent Application No.2003-09701 JP 2004298494 - However, in the technology, because a knob for operating the compressing means is provided on a lower position of a main body of the electric vacuum cleaner remote from a gripping tube part disposed on an upper portion of the main body in order to hold the main body of the electric vacuum cleaner, there is a case that while holding the main body with one hand, the compressing means must be operated by sliding the knob with another hand, therefore the compressing means is difficult to operate.
-

button 42 is moved downwardly, thelever 85 is moved downwardly. - Next, an operation of the electric vacuum cleaner structured as described above is explained.
- First, the
dust collector 50 is disposed in the dust-collectingchamber 21 of themain body 11 of the electric vacuum cleaner, as shown inFIG.2 , the dust-collectinghose 12 is connected with the connectingport 10A of themain body 11, as shown inFIG.1 , and thesuction unit 15 is connected through theextension tube 14 with theoperation tube 13. - When the operating switches 13B of the
operation part 13A on theoperation tube 13 are operated, theelectric blower 23 is driven. Driving theelectric blower 23 causes air from thesuction opening 24 of theelectric blower 23 to suck, the suction of air operates at theback opening 51 of thedust collector 50 through the connecting air passage G, hence through the pleated filter unit P, the negative-pressure chamber 57 of thedust collector 50 becomes negative pressure. - The negative pressure operates in the
air passage 62 of the dust-separating means 60 through the filter F2 at the dust-collectingchamber 55, the inside of the dust-collectingchamber 55, and the net filters F1 in the dust-separating means 60, and then the negative pressure operates over the dust-collectinghose 12, theextension tube 14 and thesuction unit 15 through thesuction port 52 of thedust collector 50 so as to suck air and dust through thesuction unit 15. - The sucked air and dust are introduced to the
suction port 52 of thedust collector 50 through theextension tube 14 and the dust-collectinghose 12. The dust and air sucked into thesuction port 52 are sucked to theair passage 62 of the dust-separating means 60. - A portion of the air sucked into the
air passage 62 is sucked into thenegative chamber 57 of thedust collector 50 through the net filters F1 in the dust-separating means 60, further into thesuction opening 24 of theelectric blower 23 through the pleated filter unit P at theback opening 51 of thedust collector 50 and the connecting air passage G. - On the other hand, the dust sucked into the
air passage 62 of the dust-separating means 60 passes through theair passage 62 straightly, because the dust has a mass larger than that of the air, guided by the guidingwall 101 of the compressingmember 100, and introduced into the dust-collectingchamber 55. In other words, the dust is separated from the air by the dust-separating means 60, the separated dust is collected into the dust-collectingchamber 55. - Moreover, the air going within the
air passage 62 straightly is guided by the guidingwall 101 of the compressingmember 100 and introduced in the dust-collectingchamber 55. The air introduced into the dust-collectingchamber 55 is sucked into thenegative chamber 57 of thedust collector 50 passing through the filter F2 at theback wall 55H of the dust-collectingchamber 55, further into thesuction opening 24 of theelectric blower 23 through the pleated filter unit P at theback opening 51 of thedust collector 50 and the connecting air passage G. - When the cleaning is completed, the driving of the
electric blower 23 is stopped by operation of theswitch 13B for stopping disposed on theoperation part 13A. Then, thebutton 42 provided on themain body 11 is pressed downwardly. When thebutton 42 is pressed downwardly, thelever 85 is pressed down against the biasing forces of the springs S1 and S1. - When the
lever 85 is pressed down, the compressingmember 100 is moved by thecooperative mechanism 70 downwardly. - When the compressing
member 100 is pressed downward, theblade 110 of the compressingmember 100 slides on the filter surface F2a of the filter F2 to scrape off the dust adhering on the filter surface F2a. In addition, the dust stored in the dust-collectingchamber 55 is compressed by moving the compressingmember 100 downwardly. Therefore, a great amount of dust can be contained in the dust-collectingchamber 55. - When separating the hand from the button, the
lever 85 returns to an original position by the biasing forces of the springs S1 and S1, the compressingmember 100 and thebutton 42 return to the original position as shown inFIG.2 in conjunction with thelever 85. - Next, a case throwing out the dust stored in the dust-collecting
chamber 55 is as follows. - First, the
dust collector 50 is taken out from themain body 11 by opening thelid 40. When theoperation part 91A as shown inFIG.4 is then pressed, thebottom lid 59 is rotated about the axis Jl in a direction of arrow P1 by the opening andclosing mechanism 90 and opened. - Next, when gripping the
lever 85 together with thegripping part 54, thelever 85 is pressed downward toward thegripping part 54, by the press of thelever 85 down, the compressingmember 100 is pressed downwardly to a position sufficient to discharge the dust by thecooperative mechanism 70. Thereby, the dust in the dust-collectingchamber 55 is pressed out from the bottom opening of thedust collector 50 downwardly, therefore throwing the dust out is easy. - Moreover, because the compressing
member 100 can be removed from therods member 100. -
FIG.9 illustrates a portion of adust collector 150 in another embodiment. Thedust collector 150 is configured to rotate a compressingmember 200 about ashaft 201 to a position shown by chained lines by thecooperative mechanism 70. The filter F2 is formed into an arc-shape, and the blade slides on a filter surface F2a of the filter F2 and the dust in the dust-collectingchamber 55 is pressed out by means of the compressingmember 200, when the compressingmember 200 is rotated. Meanwhile, inFIG.9 ,reference numeral 202 denotes an opening. - In the above, although the embodiments in which the dust collector according to the present invention is applied to the electric vacuum cleaner have been described, the structure for the dust collector can be applied to another any device or instrument not only the electric vacuum cleaner.
