Der Steuerschieber 6 ist kugelabschnittförmig gestaltet, wobei die Form des Steuerschiebers 6 an die hohlkugelförmige Innenfläche der den Boden 14 bildenden Wandung des Gehäuses 2 angepaßt ist. Dabei ist zwischen einer Steuerfläche 26 des Steuerschiebers 6 und dem Boden 14 aufgrund von Fertigungstoleranzen ein Spalt 21 ausgebildet. Der Steuerschieber 6 hat an seinem dem Zuführkanal 4 zugewandten Ende eine ebene Druckfläche 22, deren Querschnitt dem Querschnitt der Kammer 3 entspricht. In die Kammer 3 durch den Zuführkanal 4 einströmendes hochviskoses klebriges Medium, insbesondere Heißschmelzkleber oder Kaltleim, erzeugt in der Kammer 3 einen Überdruck, so daß die Druckfläche 22 des Steuerschiebers 6 in Richtung zum Boden 14 des Gehäuses 2 beaufschlagt wird. Dies wird durch den in Richtung Boden 14 weisenden Pfeil 29 dargestellt. Im Steuerschieber 6 sind zwei erste Durchtritte 15, 17 in Form von Bohrungen und ein zwischen diesen liegender zweiter Durchtritt 16 in Form eines Langloches vorgesehen. Dabei erstreckt sich der zweite Durchtritt 16 über einen größeren Bogenabschnitt α um die Drehachse A als die beiden ersten Durchtritte 15, 17.The
Die Durchtritte 15, 16, 17 verlaufen über die Höhe des Steuerschiebers 6 mit konstantem Abstand R parallel zur Drehachse A und verbinden die Kammer 3 mit der Austrittsöffnung 5 des Gehäuses 2. Auf diese Weise wird, wenn sich der Steuerschieber 6 in einer Drehposition befindet, in der sich einer der Durchtritte 15, 16, 17 mit der Austrittsöffnung 5 deckt, Kleber aus der Kammer 3 durch den entsprechenden Durchtritt und die Austrittsöffnung 5 hindurch aus dem Auftragskopf 1 gepreßt. Dabei ist in Fließrichtung am Ende der Austrittsöffnung 5 eine Austrittsdüse 18 am Gehäuse 2 angebracht, durch die der Kleber tritt. Die Austrittsdüse 18 ist gegenüber dem Gehäuse 2 mittels eines Dichtringes 19 abgedichtet. Durch die vorliegende Ausgestaltung mit mehreren über den Umfang des Steuerschiebers 6 verteilten Durchtritten wird erreicht, daß ein intermittierender Auftrag des Klebers in Form von Punkten und jeweils zwischen zwei Punkten liegenden Raupen auf ein am Auftragskopf vorbeigeführtes Bahnmaterial aufgetragen werden kann. Dabei kann die Länge der aufgebrachten Raupen durch die Drehgeschwindigkeit des Steuerschiebers eingestellt bzw. variiert werden. Für Anwendungsfälle, bei denen ein durchgängiger Klebeauftrag erzeugt werden soll, wird der Steuerschieber 6 in eine Position gebracht, in der sich einer der ersten Durchtritte 15, 17 mit der Austrittsöffnung 5 dekken. Soll über eine bestimmte Wegstrecke der Klebeauftrag unterbunden werden, kann der Steuerschieber 6 in eine Position gedreht werden, in der der Steuerschieber 8 die Austrittsöffnung 5 verdeckt wird.The
Der Steuerschieber 62 kann somit in eine Drehposition überführt werden, in der sich der Ausgang 24 des Kanals 23 mit der Austrittsöffnung 5 des Gehäuses decken. Auf diese Weise können Rückstände des Klebers aus der Austrittsöffnung 5 und der Austrittsdüse 18 "herausgeschossen" werden. Diese Ausführungsform hat den Vorteil, daß die Klebeaufträge bei intermittierendem Betrieb des Auftragskopfes, bei dem der Auftrag in Form von Punkten oder Raupen erfolgt, genau sind und keine Klebefäden zwischen zwei Auftragspunkten gezogen werden. Bei Betrieb des Auftragskopfes dreht sich der Steuerschieber 67 um die Drehachse A, so daß, wenn sich der Steuerschieber 67 mit seinem Durchtritt 157 in einer Schnittebene mit dem Zuführkanal 4 befindet, Kleber aus einem hier nicht näher dargestellten mit dem Gehäuse verbindbaren Anschlußstück durch den Zuführkanal 4 und den Durchtritt 157 zur Austrittsöffnung 5 auf ein am Auftragskopf 1 vorbeigeführtes Medium aufgetragen werden kann. Dabei kann eine Austrittsdüse 18 an der Austrittsöffnung 5 des Gehäuses 2 angebracht sein, durch die der Kleber hindurchtritt. In den übrigen Drehpositionen ist die Verbindung zwischen Zuführkanal 4 und Austrittsöffnung 5 durch den Steuerschieber 67 unterbrochen, so daß kein Kleber aufgetragen wird. Durch die Drehung des Steuerschiebers 67 wird somit eine Klebenaht erzeugt, die aus sich aneinander reihenden Klebepunkten entsteht. Dabei kann die Länge der aufgebrachten Punkte bzw. Raupen durch die Drehgeschwindigkeit des Steuerschiebers 67 variiert werden. Für Anwendungsfälle, bei denen ein durchgängiger Klebeauftrag erzeugt werden soll, wird der Steuerschieber 67 in eine Position gebracht, in der der Durchtritt 157 in einer Schnittebene mit dem Zuführkanal 4 ist. Der Vorteil dieser Ausführungsform ist, daß die Austrittsöffnung 5 zentral auf der Drehachse A, die gleichzeitig die Symmetrieachse des Auftragskopfes darstellt, angeordnet ist, so daß ein genaues Positionieren und Auftragen von Kleber ermöglicht wird. Claims (6)
- An application head for applying a liquid medium, for example hot-melt adhesive or cold glue, onto a substrate, comprising a housing (2) with a chamber (3) rotationally symmetrical with respect to an axis of rotation (A), a supply duct (4) into the chamber (3) and an outlet opening (5) - at the front - out of the chamber (3), as well as a control slide (6) which is mounted so as to be rotatable about the axis of rotation (A) and is capable of being driven in a rotating manner and which is situated at the front in the chamber (3) and bounds a free internal space in the chamber (3) and has at least one passage (15) for the through-flow of the liquid medium out of the chamber (3) into the outlet opening (5), characterized in that the control slide (6) has a plurality of passages (15, 16, 17) which extend over arcuate portions (α) of different size about the axis of rotation (A).
- An application head according to Claim 1, characterized in that a plurality of passages (15) are provided which are at the same distance from the adjacent passage in each case.
- An application head according to one of Claims 1 to 2, characterized in that the housing (2) comprises a cover (9) and a base (14), wherein a shaft (7) of the control slide (6) is mounted in the cover (9) and the control slide rests on the base (14).
- An application head according to any one of Claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the control slide (6) has a control face (26) in the shape of a portion of a sphere which rests on a corresponding base (14) of the chamber (3) in the shape of a hollow sphere, or the control slide (6) has a tapered control face (26) which rests on a corresponding base (14) of the chamber (3) in the shape of a hollow taper, or the control slide (6) is formed in the shape of a disc and rests on the base (14) of the chamber (3).
- An application head according to any one of Claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the at least one passage (15) is formed in the shape of a break-out at the edge open towards the outside.
- An application head according to any one of Claims 1 to 6 [sic], characterized in that the control slide (6) has an internal duct (23) with an entry (27) and an exit (24) for the passage of compressed air, wherein the entry (27) is capable of being constantly acted upon with compressed air and the exit (24) is connected to the outlet opening (5) in one rotational position of the control slide (6).
