Description
- This invention relates to a compressor comprising a valve plate made of different materials, which are used in household appliances particularly in refrigerators.
- In state of art, the most substantial source of noise in reciprocating hermetic compressors particularly used in refrigerators is the movement of the valve sheet during the suction and compression periods. For instance, suction and exhaust sheets made of steel used on the valve plates made of sinter or sheet metal produces high level of noise as a result of the strikes at high speeds among the suction sheet, exhaust sheet and metal valve during the suction and compression periods.
- In known techniques, International Patent Application

- The circulation of the cycle fluid, which is used for cooling in household appliances particularly refrigerators, is provided by means of a reciprocating hermetic compressor (1). In preferred embodiment the cycle fluid is used as a cooling gas.
- The compressor (1) comprises one or more casing (7) holding the components, a cylinder (8) in the casing (7) for pumping the cooling gas, a piston (9) on the cylinder for compressing the cooling gas into the cylinder opening, a crank (10) for transferring the motion of the motor, a piston rod (11) transferring the motion from the crank (10) to the piston (9), a suction muffler (12) preferably made of plastic material for allowing the cooling gas to reach at the cylinder (8) area before being heated and minimizing the noise which may be caused by the cooling gas, a cylinder head (13) connecting the suction muffler (12) and the cylinder (8), a valve plate (2) making a rigid and tight connection between the cylinder (8) and the cylinder head (13) and allowing the suction and compression of the cycle fluid, a suction valve sheet (3) on a side of the valve table, preferably on the side connected to the cylinder head (13) for allowing the suction of the fluids into the cylinder (8), an exhaust valve sheet (4) on a side of the valve table, preferably on the side connected to the cylinder (8) for allowing the discharge of the fluids in the cylinder (8), a stop member (15) preferably having the same form with the exhaust valve sheet (4) preventing possible gas leakages which may be caused by the breaking of the exhaust valve sheet (4) or disability of the opening and closing of the said exhaust valve sheet (4) due to the high pressure on the exhaust valve sheet (4), one or more pins (14) having a rectangular or elliptic form for fixing the exhaust valve sheet (4) to the stop member (15) and the valve plate (2) in a vertical direction and preventing its rotation to the left or right direction around the axis around which it is fixed, one or more suction gaskets (16) for sealing between the suction valve sheet (3) and the cylinder (8), one or more exhaust gaskets (17) for sealing between the suction muffler (12) and the valve plate (2) and one or more fasteners (18) like screws for fixing the valve plate (1).
- Valve plate (2) comprises a frame (6) made of preferably metal material and resistant to the axial loads, and a damper (5) in the frame (6) made of preferably a rigid plastic material for minimizing the vibration and the noise when the suction valve sheet (3) and exhaust valve sheet (4) strikes the top of the valve plate (2).
- In the embodiment which is the subject of the invention, the frame (6) and the damper (5) are attached to each other in an intermeshing way and, exhaust and suction trepans are provided with a plane form by means of grinding operation.
- Particularly in the parts where there are connections comprising axial and radial loads like clinch and screw hole, frame (6) and damper (5) are not used due to the rigid material. Similarly whereas the damper (5) is used, the frame (6) is not used in the parts where the valve sheets strike by the oscillation movements for damping the noise. Furthermore it has a form and position for separating the frame (6) and the damper (5) due to the high discharge pressures in the system. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the damper (5) has a size bigger than the diameter of the cylinder (8) to cover the cylinder and a position to allow the connection of the frame (6) to the cylinder (8) and the cylinder head (13).
- In another embodiment of the invention, the damper (5) is pressed on the valve plate (2) by means of the injection method following the formation of the frame (6) from sinter or thin plate material. In addition, exhaust and suction trepans are provided with a plane form preferably through grinding operation.
- In another embodiment of the invention, dampers (5) which are classified according to their thickness by measuring the progress of the piston (9) are used instead of the suction gasket (16) used for reducing the clearance space by optimizing the part of the piston (9) which is also known as the progress of the piston (9) projecting from the front surface of the cylinder (8).
- Thanks to this operation during the assembly process of the compressor (1), the use of the classified suction gasket (16) is not needed. The use of a suction gasket (16) having a fixed thickness is sufficient thereby reducing the cost of the suction gasket (16) and minimizing the variability in the cooling capacity caused by the variability in the thickness of the suction gasket (16) and the possibility of the attachment of a suction gasket (16) having an unacceptable thickness.
- In this embodiment, the damper (5) which is thinner than the valve plate (2) of the compressor (1) comprises a suction sheet housing (50), a suction valve sheet (51) having a suitable form for the suction sheet housing (50) and one or more pins (52) having preferably an elliptic form for fixing the suction valve sheet (51) to the suction sheet housing (50) and to the valve plate (2) in a vertical direction and preventing its rotation to the left or right direction around the axis around which it is fixed. The suction gasket (16) comprises a pin housing (53) having a suitable form for preventing level differences which, may be caused by the pin (52).
- In this embodiment, the suction valve sheet (51) is in a damper (5), which is bigger than the cylinder (8) and fixed by means of the pin (14). Thus it can be fixed in all directions only by a pin (14). A damper (5) having less thickness than the valve plate (2) is used with respect to the progress of the piston (9). Therefore the distance between the piston (9) and the suction valve sheet (3) is maintained.
- In the compressor (1) which is the subject of the invention, vibration and noise caused by the strike of the sheets (3, 4) preferably made of metal material to the valve table (2) preferably made of metal material like sinter or thin plate, are minimized.
