Dadurch bleibt das in der Kapsel aufgenommene Kaffeepulver über einen langen Zeitraum frisch. Zum Aufbrühen des in der Kapsel aufgenommenen Kaffeepulvers werden sowohl manuelle, halbautomatische wie auch vollautomatische Espressokaffeemaschinen verwendet. Bei den manuellen Kaffeemaschinen wird die Kapsel üblicherweise in einen Kapselhalter eingesetzt, welcher danach manuell an der Kaffeemaschine befestigt wird. Bei den halbautomatischen Kaffeemaschinen wird die Kapsel in einen Kapselträger oder direkt in die Brühkammer eingesetzt, welch letztere danach mittels eines zentralen von Hand zu betätigenden Hebels verschlossen wird. Bei vollautomatischen Kaffeemaschinen hingegen wird die Kapsel einem Magazin entnommen, danach automatisch der Brühkammer zugeführt und nach dem Aufbrühen bzw. Extrahieren ohne Zutun des Benutzers in einen Auffangbehälter ausgeworfen. Alle drei genannten Arten von Kaffeemaschinen verfügen im allgemeinen über einen mit radialen Austrittsöffnungen für die Einleitung von Brühwasser versehenen Brühdorn, der zum Durchstossen des Bodens bzw. Deckels der Kapsel ausgebildet ist. Bekannt sind insbesondere auch manuelle Kaffeemaschinen, bei denen der Kapselhalter mit einer Vielzahl von auf einem Ablaufrost angeordneten Erhebungen versehen ist, welche den Deckel der Kapsel aufbrechen, sobald Brühwasser von der den Erhebungen gegenüberliegenden Seite in die Kapsel eingeleitet und letztere durch den hydraulischen Überdruck gegen diese Erhebungen gedrückt wird. Kapselunterteil 1a bildende Folie bestehen die beiden äusseren Lagen 29, 31 aus
einem thermoplastischen Polymer, während die Zwischenlage 30 aus einer gasdichten
Folie; beispielsweise EVOH (Ethylenvinylalkohol), besteht. Die untere, dem
Kapselboden 7a zugewandte Lage 32 der Folie 21a besteht ebenfalls aus einem
thermoplastischen Polymer, während die obere, dem Kapselinnenraum zugewandte
Lage 33 aus Aluminium besteht. Da die beiden einander zugewandten Lagen 31, 32
des Kapselbodens 7a bzw. der Folie 21a aus je einem thermoplastischen Polymer
bestehen, können diese beiden Lagen 31, 32 miteinander verschweisst werden. Die
Folie 21a weist in Relation zum Verbundmaterial des becherartigen Kapselunterteils 1a
eine relativ geringe Dehnbarkeit, Elastizität und Reissfestigkeit auf. Die von aussen
über die Ausnehmung 20a ersichtliche Folie 21a weist vorzugsweise eine andere Farbe
auf als die Kapsel. Nachdem sowohl die über der Ausnehmung 20a angebrachten Folie
21a wie auch der Deckel 4 mit dem Kapselunterteil 1a verschweisst sind, ist die Kapsel

extrahiert werden können. Jedenfalls ist die Folie derart ausgelegt, dass sie von einem
Aufstechorgen schon bei relativ geringer Krafteinwirkung aufgebrochen wird, während
ein konventioneller, durchgehend einstückiger Kapselboden derart ausgelegt ist, dass
er zuerst elastisch nachgiebt, um erst unter der Einwirkung des Brühmediums an dem
entsprechenden Aufstechorgan aufgestochen zu werden. Durch die elastische
Nachgiebigkeit eines konventionellen Kapselbodens soll zuerst eine sogenannte
Aufbrühphase stattfinden. Dazu wird über den Deckel in die auslassseitig noch
geschlossene Kapsel Brühwasser eingeleitet, welches in der Kapsel einen Überdruck
aufbaut und das Kaffeepulver benetzt und ggf. aufquellen lässt, bevor die Kapsel dann
auslassseitig aufgebrochen wird und der flüssige Kaffeeextrakt unter der Bildung von
Schaum aus der Kapsel austreten kann.By the
