An example of this are so-called loudspeaker plugs for connecting loudspeakers with loudspeaker cables or loudspeaker cables with amplifier outputs.
Claims (9)
- A female connector portion of an electrical connector, especially for audio applications, having a central cavity which is defined by a partition (13) having an interior face and an exterior face, and having an annular cavity surrounding the partition (13), both cavities having insertion apertures (15) and there being arranged both on the interior face and on the exterior face of the partition (13) plug contacts (3), which have a metal strip-like body having a fastening region (7) and having a free arm which projects from the fastening region (7) and which has a contact region (9) at its free end and a resilient region (8) disposed between the contact region (9) and the fastening region (7), characterised in that the contact region (9) is of a convex design, and in that the convexity (10) extends from the contact region (9) into or over the resilient region (8) with stiffening of the resilient region (8) of the free arm projecting from the fastening region (7), and a corresponding depression (11) is formed on the face of the strip-like body opposite to the convexity (10), the resilient region (8) of the strip-like body in the region of the convexity (10) and depression (11) being of a curved design when viewed in cross section.
- A female connector portion according to claim 1, characterised in that the convexity (10) and the depression (11) taper off from the contact region (9) towards the fastening region (7) with decreasing height and depth respectively.
- A female connector portion according to claim 2, characterised in that the convexity (10) which extends far into or over the resilient region, and the depression (11) reach from the contact region (9) to the fastening region (7) with continuously decreasing height and depth respectively.
- A female connector portion according to any one of claims 1 to 3, characterised in that the strip-like body of the plug contact (3) is non-cuttingly shaped in the region of the convexity (10) and of the depression (11).
- A female connector portion according to any one of claims 1 to 4, characterised in that the strip-like body of the plug contact (3) is shaped by means of a punching operation in the region of the convexity (10) of the plug contact (3) and of the depression (11).
- A female connector portion according to any one of claims 1 to 5, characterised in that the convexity (10) and depression (11) extend at least over the majority of the resilient region (8).
- A female connector portion according to any one of claims 1 to 6, characterised in that there are arranged on the partition (13) four plug contacts (3) disposed diametrically opposite each other.
- A female connector portion according to any one of claims 1 to 7, characterised in that the contact regions (9) of the plug contacts (3) are directed towards the insert apertures (15) of the female connector portion (1).
- An electrical plug-in connection, especially for audio applications, consisting of two connectors, one of which is in the form of an electrical plug-in connection male connector in which plug contacts are arranged, and the other is in the form of a female connector portion according to any one of claims 1 to 8.
