Üblicherweise handelt es sich hierbei um Konstruktionen, die entweder Lattenrost und Matratze waagerecht anheben (beispielsweise Hebevorrichtungen wie sie in Krankenhausbetten verwendet werden) oder um Konstruktionen durch die die Matratze am Fußende bzw. separat an Kopf- und Fußende aufgeklappt werden kann (wie es bei sog. Matratzen ein Doppelbett bilden, sodass auch hier die Matratze nur von einer Seite
zugänglich ist.
Bei Lösungen sog. Polsterbetten wird die Matratze entweder komplett am Fußende
angehoben und um das Kopfende als Drehpunkt aufgeklappt, oder es werden über
einen auf Brusthöhe der Liegefläche befindlichen Drehpunkt separat Kopf- und
Fußende aufgeklappt.
Der Nachteil liegt bei diesen beiden Teillösungen wiederum darin, dass man sich
weit über das Bett vorbeugen muss, bzw. um das Bett herumgehen muss, falls wie
oben dargestellt überhaupt möglich. Weiterhin ist ein separates Anheben bzw.
Aufklappen von Kopf- und Fußende insofern nachteilig, da dies zwei Arbeitsschritte
erfordert.

Zum Um- bzw. Aufklappen von Matratze (3) und Lattenrost (2) wird ein Drehgelenk

Eine Gasfeder (6) ist jeweils am Bett kopf- und fußendig einerseits am Lattenrost (2) über eine daran befestigte Hubschiene (5), andererseits am Bettgestell (1), drehbar befestigt. Durch leichtes Anheben des Lattenrostes (2) beginnen sich die Gasfedern (6) zu entspannen; Lattenrost (2) und Matratze (3) werden um die jeweils kopf- und fußendig befindlichen Drehgelenke (4) aufgeklappt.
Darüber hinaus kann die zuvor beschriebene Lösung kopf- und fußendig jeweils um einen Druckstab (7) erweitert werden. Dieser ist einerseits über eine Hubschiene (5) am Lattenrost (2), andererseits an der Kolbenstange der Gasfeder (6) drehbar befestigt. Die Kolbenstange der Gasfeder (6) wird horizontal, mittels einer Linearführung (8) geführt; beim Entspannen der Gasfeder (6) wird die Druckkraft über den Druckstab (7) auf den Lattenrost (2) übertragen. Lattenrost (2) und Matratze (3) werden um die kopf- und fußendig montierten Drehgelenke (4) aufgeklappt.
Nach einem Vorschlag mit selbständiger Bedeutung kann mittels eines Hubpedals (9) die Kraft über ein Zugseil (10), oder einen Zugstab (10), auf den Kniehebel (11) übertragen werden. Dieser ist einerseits über eine Tragschiene (12) am Bettgestell (1), andererseits über eine Hubschiene (5) am Lattenrost (2) befestigt. Durch die aufgewandte Kraft wird der Kniehebel (11) aus seiner Decklage in seine Strecklage gebracht; hierbei werden Lattenrost (2) und Matratze (3) um die Drehgelenke (4) um- bzw. aufgeklappt.
Nach einem weiteren Vorschlag mit selbständiger Bedeutung kann die zum Aufklappen des Lattenrostes (2) und der Matratze (3) erforderliche Kraft durch einen Elektromotor (13) erzeugt werden. Der Elektromotor (13) treibt ein Zahnrad (14) an, welches in ein verzahntes Abtriebsglied (15) eingreift. Das Abtriebsglied (15) ist seinerseits rückseitig durch eine Rolle (16) geführt. Führungsrolle (16) und Elektromotor (13) sind am Bettgestell (1) montiert, das Abtriebsglied (15) ist am Lattenrost (2) befestigt. Durch Drehrichtungsumkehr des Elektromotors (13) können Lattenrost (2) und Matratze (3) um die jeweils kopf- und fußendig montierten Drehgelenke (4) auf- und zugeklappt werden.
Weiterhin kann das Um- bzw. Aufklappen von Lattenrost (2) und Matratze (3) durch jeweils ein kopf- und fußendig montiertes, viergliedriges Getriebe mit Zugfeder (17) realisiert werden. Hierzu ist das Glied 1 (18) am Bettgestell (1) und das Glied 2 (19) am Lattenrost (2) befestigt. Die beiden anderen Glieder (20) und (21) bilden einen Kniehebel, der sich bei abgesenkter Matratze in Decklage befindet. Durch leichtes Anheben des Lattenrostes (2) beginnt die Zugfeder (17) den Kniehebel zu strecken und klappt somit Lattenrost (2) und Matratze (3) um die Drehgelenke (4) auf.
Das kombinierte Anheben und Um- bzw. Aufklappen von Lattenrost (2) und Matratze
(3) kann durch ein viergliedriges Getriebe mit einer Gasfeder (22), jeweils kopf- und fußseitig montiert, realisiert werden. Hierbei ist vorgesehen, dass das Glied 1 (23) am Bettgestell (1), und dass Glied 4 (24) am Lattenrost (2) befestigt wird. Die Glieder 2 (25) und 3 (26) sind drehbar mit den Gliedern 1 (23) und 4 (24) verbunden, sodass durch die Federkraft der Gasfeder (22) das Glied 2 (25) um das Gelenk 1 (27), und das Glied 3 (26) um das Gelenk 2 (28) dreht. Dadurch werden Lattenrost (2) und Matratze (3) sowohl angehoben, als auch um- bzw. aufgeklappt.
Nach einem Vorschlag mit selbständiger Bedeutung kann das kombinierte Anheben und Um- bzw. Aufklappen durch zwei Kniehebelpaare (29) und (30), jeweils kopfund fußseitig montiert, realisiert werden. Jeweils die oberen Glieder der Kniehebel (29) und (30) sind drehbar über eine Hubschiene (36) am Lattenrost (2) befestigt, die unteren drehbar am Boden (31 ) oder am Bettgestell (1). An den Verbindungspunkten (32) und (33) der beiden Glieder ist an jedem Kniehebel (29) und (30) eine Gasfeder (34) und (35) drehbar befestigt; hierbei handelt es sich bei dem kurzen Kniehebel (29) um eine kurze Gasfeder (34) und bei dem langen Kniehebel (30) um eine lange Gasfeder (35). Durch die unterschiedlich langen Glieder und Gasfedern werden durch die beiden Kniehebel (29) und (30) beim Entspannen der Gasfedern (34) und (35) unterschiedliche Wege zurückgelegt, sodass Lattenrost (2) und Matratze (3) sowohl angehoben als auch um- bzw. aufgeklappt werden.
Das kombinierte Anheben und Um- bzw. Aufklappen von Lattenrost (2) und Matratze (3) kann auch durch ein von einem Verstellelement (37) angetriebenen, dreigliedrigen Getriebe realisiert werden. Hierbei ist vorgesehen, dass der Lattenrost (2) durch seine azentrische Lagerung im Lager (38) beim Anheben durch das Getriebe in die gewünschte Richtung kippt.
