Description

Geschoss für Infanteriemunition Bullet for infantry ammunition
The invention relates to a projectile for infantry ammunition according to the preamble of claim 1.
Bullets for infantry ammunition are known to consist of a bullet core with a bullet tip and a metal jacket, the bullet core being made of lead. The firing of lead bullets produces gases containing lead dust that are harmful to health. Lead also endangers the environment.
The invention is based on the object of improving a projectile for infantry ammunition according to the preamble of claim 1 in such a way that a durable connection between the projectile core and the metal jacket is achieved.
According to the invention, this object is achieved in that the metal jacket is a sleeve which is open at the end and which is drawn onto the projectile core from behind, the projectile tip protruding from the metal jacket and a constriction being arranged on the projectile core, into which the open end-side jacket end projects.
The constriction thus holds the metal jacket in place and prevents it from being pulled off when penetrating into a soft medium. It is also of great advantage that the jacket end is thereby in the flow shadow of the top of the projectile.
In vorteilhafter Ausgestaltung der Erfindung besteht der Geschosskern aus härtbarem Stahl, Wolfram, Metallkarbiden, Sintermetallen oder Keramik. In an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the projectile core consists of hardenable steel, tungsten, metal carbides, sintered metals or ceramics.
The metal jacket is preferably made of copper, a copper alloy, plated steel, soft iron or a zinc-tin alloy.
At least one relief groove is expediently arranged on the outer circumference of the projectile core, it being possible for the metal jacket to bear against the projectile core in the region of the relief groove. These relief grooves can have different diameters and widths and can be arranged distributed over the entire length of the projectile.
A swirl transmission takes place through the projectile sections, the diameters of which correspond to the corresponding projectile caliber.
The bottom of the metal jacket advantageously has a greater thickness than the wall thickness of the cylindrical part. However, the thickness of the bottom of the metal jacket can also be less than or equal to the thickness of the wall thickness of the cylindrical part. The bottom can be convex or concave with z. B. Radii between 0.5 and 10 calibers or flat. Alternatively, the bottom of the metal shell can also form a concave or convex cone tip.
The rear shape of the metal jacket can be conical with an angle between 0 ° and 90 °. The rear is the area of the metal jacket adjacent to the floor.
The projectile core is advantageously roughened or knurled, as a result of which a better fit of the projectile casing or metal casing on the projectile core is achieved.
Further features of the invention result from the single figure, which is described below.
Reference number 1 denotes the projectile core, which consists of hardenable steel, tungsten, metal basket, sintered metal or ceramic. The projectile core 1 has a projectile tip 13 which protrudes from a metal jacket 2. The metal jacket 2 consists of either copper, a copper alloy, plated steel, soft iron or a zinc-tin alloy. However, other metals are also conceivable.
The metal jacket 2 is drawn onto the projectile core 1 from the rear, that is to say from the rear 12, the projectile tip 13 being exposed, as already mentioned.
Hierdurch liegt das Mantelende 5 im Strömungsschatten der Geschossspitze 13.For permanent attachment, a constriction 4 is arranged on the projectile core 1, into which the open front-side jacket end 5 projects. As a result, the jacket end 5 lies in the flow shadow of the projectile tip 13.
The diameter of the bullet tip is smaller than the field diameter.
In this special case, a single relief groove 7 is provided on the outer circumference of the projectile core 1, the metal jacket 2 abutting the projectile core 1. However, an embodiment with several relief grooves can also be selected, e.g. B. with different widths and diameters.
B. Abschnitte 9).Swirl transmission takes place through projectile sections whose cylinder diameter corresponds to the corresponding projectile caliber (see eg section 9).
The bottom 10 of the metal jacket 2 has a greater thickness than the wall thickness in the cylindrical region. In this embodiment, the bottom is flat. However, it can also be convex or concave with radii between 0.5 and 10 calibers. The bottom shape can also be shaped as a convex or concave cone tip.
The rear 12 adjacent to the floor is cylindrical in the embodiment shown here. However, it can also have a conical shape.
The bullet tip can have any conventional shape, i. H. pointed to flattened.
